Keep Climbing

“Sometimes it takes a mountain.”

This is the name of a song the Gaither Vocal Band sing. This morning I want to approach that statement from a different perspective than the song actually does.

Have you ever gone hiking? I personally am not a camper or a hiker but I have climbed “Stone Mountain” and driven to the top of other mountains.

For those of you from other parts of the country: Stone Mountain is a mountain in Georgia that is pure Stone.  The last time many years ago that I attempted to climb it I only made it half-way up.

The climb up starts off easy and becomes harder as you climb. At places it is almost a crawl.  HOWEVER….when you make it to the top you can see for miles and miles in every direction.  Cars, houses and businesses look small and insignificant.

Sometimes in our lives we feel like we are climbing a mountain that is so big and so hard to climb that we are not sure if we will make it.  Maybe you feel like that today. Maybe your mountain looks impossible and you just want to sit down and give up.

Don’t Stop!!! Keep climbing!!! Keep going!!!

I have good news for you this morning.  You are not alone. The God who created you and who knows you best and loves you most promised to never leave you nor forsake you.  He says to you this morning:

Hebrews 13:5B (KJV)
for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Matthew 28:20B (KJV)
and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.

You are never alone.  Keep moving: keep climbing up the mountain and you will reach the top. No matter what form your particular mountain is (ministry, sickness, family problems, financial or business) you will get to the top if you will persevere and hold to the hand of the one who will never let you fall.

Then the view from the top will be amazing. You will be able to see where you came from and what you overcame.  As you gaze, through the eyes of Jesus, on the problems below you will see how small and insignificant they really are. They are but a blip on the radar of our life as we view them from the perspective of the mountain top.  The view is vastly different after you have made the climb.

The song I mentioned above says sometimes it takes a mountain to get our attention but I say to you this morning that sometimes it takes a mountain to let us enjoy the view of life from the eyes of the creator God.

Sometimes the mountain is a gateway to the view of life that God wants us to have. As His children we have everything we need to live victorious and abundant lives. As His children every problem is small and is in the Fathers Hands!

Luke 12:6-7 (KJV)
6 Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?
7 But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.

KEEP CLIMBING!

Father, I come to you in Jesus Name and thank you that I am valuable to you. Thank you that your eyes are watching me and that you are my strength and you give me my very breath. I pray for those who read these thoughts that they will grasp how much you love them. I pray that they will not give up but will continue to climb whatever mountain they are facing.  Father thank you that from the top: when we have persevered: we will see with a different perspective. Thank you for invading each person who reads this with the certainty of your love. Amen

Have an amazing week!

Love, Me-Maw
