“SWEET AND SECURE!”

Me-Maw Thoughts

Number 797

July 21, 2026///

If I misled some of you with my 80th birthday picture last week I apologize. I was using a picture made almost two years ago. I will be 82 in September, but I wanted to use a different picture and picked that one not thinking that it seemed I just turned 80. Just chalk it up to my age!!!

Now to my thoughts today. When I was a young girl, my mom worked in the daytime and my dad at night. One of them was almost always there but there was a small stretch of time in the late afternoon when I was alone!

I remember that after that small stretch of time, when my mother walked through the door it was like the world became a place of love and care! The atmosphere changed and I felt safe and secure!

That came to mind as I was thanking the Father that I can walk in the presence of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. If you are reading this and have not accepted Jesus as your Savior, you may not understand but a relationship with the creator through Jesus Christ is an amazing gift!

Some of you have accepted Jesus, attend Church but do not invite Him into every part of your life! That is like walking in that span of time between when my dad left and my mom got home. I did not feel in danger or neglected, I just felt emptiness in the house, and it changed when either of them was there.

You can be busy and have people all around you and many things to do but if you have not allowed the Holy Spirit to fill you with Joy, Peac, and Power you feel the emptiness!

Perhaps you feel that spiritual things should stay in the church, but Jesus said to come to Him and He would never leave you but would be with you always! Perhaps you only acknowledge God when things are terribly wrong but what about all the daily duties, jobs, children, laundry, driving cooking? Oh, how He longs to be part of it all and if we invite Him to walk and talk with us life will become easier and the situations and problems not so overwhelming!

When a child needs to cross a busy street, holding the hand of a parent gets them safely to the other side.

We need to travel this road of life with the absolute best in our lives and that means holding on to the hand of the one who created you and knows you best!

THE OLD HYMN SAYS:

Oh! How sweet to trust in Jesus,

Just to take Him at His word!

Just to rest upon His promise,

Just to know, thus says the Lord!

CONSIDER THESE VERSES:

John 10:10 (KJV) The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Psalm 37:11 (KJV) But the meek shall inherit the earth; And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

John 3:16 (KJV) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 4:14 (KJV) But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

Jeremiah 31:3 (KJV) The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: Therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.

There are so many more scriptures that tell of His Love and His longing for us to come to Him and do life with Him!

May we understand that the Father Loves us and has a life of Joy for the journey! Joy that does not depend on circumstances but comes from the deep peace within!

“DRAW NEAR TO HIM AND HE WILL DRAW NEAR TO YOU!”

INVITE HIM INTO EVERYTHING YOU DO!!

Father, I worship you for who you are and who you are in those who trust you and surrender all they have and all they are and are not to your Lordship! Forgive us when we live so below the life of surrender that you have provided! You help, give favor, and fight our battles when we realize and walk in the truth of who you are! Lord, we worship you with all that is within us every day of our lives! We Love you, Lord! Amen!

“RESOLUIONS!”

Me-Maw Thoughts

Number 796

July 14, 2026///

As I was thinking about something Billy Graham said, I began to consider something I would like to share with you. May you heart be open to hear what this says to you!

The statement was “DON’T MAKE RESOLUTIONS, CREATE HABITS”!

Consider the daily habits you have! Routines in the morning and the direction of your day all operate with a large amt of habits! How we drive our car, interact with others, our daily chores and a thousand other things that we do repeatedly become habits! Most of them are just stuff that needed to be done but have no eternal value!

My mind went to the habits Jesus our Savior had and that is the habits we need to create in our own life! Christian means Christ like!

1)JESUS WENT AWAY FROM THE CROWDS AND PRAYED!

Matthew 14:23 (KJV) And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.

Mark 1:35 (KJV) And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

2)JESUS LISTENED AND OBEYED THE FATHER!

John 5:19 (KJV) Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

John 12:49 (KJV) For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.

3)JESUS OPERATED WITH COMPASSION TO THOSE IN NEED!

Matthew 14:14 (KJV)And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.

Matthew 20:34 (KJV)So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.

4)JESUS WAS PRESENT IN THE MOMENT! ***He WAS where He was!

Mark 6:34 (KJV)And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.

John 2:5–7 (KJV) His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it. And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece. Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.

I have shared 4 of Jesus habits that we would do good to follow and there are many more verses for each one!

Jesus, had fun, relaxed with those closest to Him and LOVED unconditionally!

He was aware of those around Him and just as He did, we can walk in discernment. Discernment and true Christian Love, sees others deep needs and sees them as they can be not as they are!

Each of these habits and more can be cultivate by surrendering each day to the Lordship of Jesus. They do not just happen! You must decide to move from saying you will or want to (resolution), to intentionally doing it.

I like Nike’s motto of “JUST DO IT”!

Let’s begin to think of what it would take to create habits with eternal value and just do it!

I challenge you to get into you Bible and look at Jesus here on earth and the way He lived with eternal values!

Our Creator God wants to help us create Godly habits, not just make resolutions!

_________________________________________________

Father, lead each of us as we begin to create habits that will have eternal and spiritual value! Open our spiritual eye and ears and stir up the desire to say what you lead us to say and do what you lead us to do! Father, you are the potter and we are the clay! Mold us into usable vessels to be your ambassadors on earth! Lead each of us to live with eternal values! I ask in the wonderful name of Jesus! Amen!

“BIRDS!”

Me-Maw Thoughts

Number 795

July 7, 2026///

We have a Hummingbird Feeder on our back deck. I have noticed that they fly up and drink from the feeder and fly away. The other regular bird feeder shows the same thing, fly up, eat, and fly away.

That is good for them and is what they should be doing, but as I noticed this it made me think of how many Christians do that. We get a little touch and fly off to do our thing!

The Creator God of the Universe declares in His word that he desires to be with us always! The Lord Jesus (who was Gods love in the flesh), made a way that we can have constant communion with the Father!

Our creator wants to spend time with us just as our earthly parents love spending time with their children! Our Father wants to guide us and give us direction and lead us in the right way!

Deep inside each of us is a desire to have a relationship with our heavenly Father! We may not know what we are longing for but the things in our culture will never satisfy.

Those who receive Jesus as their Savior and do not fully enjoy the fellowship with Him every moment, are like the Birds that fly to the feeders, eat, and fly away to do their own thing!

Revelation 3:20 (KJV), Behold I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

God is always watching and sees everything and everywhere and every choice we make. However, if we do not recognize this and let Him be our guide in all we cannot have His best! We are created with choice and we must choose Him!

John 7:37–38 (TPT) 37 Then on the most important day of the feast, the last day, Jesus stood and shouted out to the crowds “All you thirsty ones, come to me! Come to me and drink! 38 Believe in me so that rivers of living water will burst out from within you, flowing from your innermost being, just like the Scripture says!”

Jesus has that life giving water that will satisfy the longing in our souls every day in every way, but we must open our hearts and let Him in every part of our lives.

Hebrews 13:5 (KJV) Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Do you understand? The creator God who knows you best and loves you most wants to be your absolute best friend and companion. What a safe and joyous place to be knowing we are never alone.

Matthew 11:28 (KJV) Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

What a promise! Just come with an open heart and let Him give you rest in spirit, soul, and body. I believe the truth that is most difficult to understand is God’s Love!

It is so vast and wonderful that our finite minds cannot explain but just experience this Love and a creator who wants to spend time with you.

The beloved Hymn says:

“He walks with me, and talks with me, and tells me I am His own!”

_______________________________________________________

Father, I come and release all I am and all I am not to all you are! My heart is open and I receive love, peace, joy, direction, and the warmth of your hugs! Thank you that I am never alone! May each one who reads this understand you desire to spend time with them! I ask in the mighty name of Jesus! Amen!

“FREEDOM!”

June 30, 2026//

In a few days we will celebrate the Freedom of our nation. We all understand that many have died to let us continue to be one nation under God! We fly the flag and repeat the pledge, either not thinking about what we are saying or with a grateful and sincere heart for all those who have gone before us and stood in the gap.

As I was growing up when we had Vacation Bible School, we would say the pledge to the U.S. Flag, the Christian Flag, and the Bible! Many still do that today.

The first is about our country, and the second and third about who and what really brings freedom.

Yes, we are Blessed in our nation to be able to worship our Lord God Almighty the way we desire, and we can own as many Bibles as we can acquire, but that does not make us free!

We can sit in a church and hear about our creator and His love for us and be more imprisoned than if we were in a jail or prison cell!

It is receiving the truth of all that Jesus did as He paid for our sins: past, present, and future! And He tells us He leaves us with Peace, power, and the freedom to be all we were created to be!

For your meditation, I want to print these three pledges here! Please read them with a heart open to hear with the ears to really listen as we all think about the cost of all kinds of FREEDOM!

THE PLEDGE OF ALLIGENCE TO THE AMERICAN FLAG!

“I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America,

and to the republic for which it stands,

one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

THE PLEDGE TO THE CHRISTIAN FLAG!

**There are two versions of this. Both have an eternal message in them!

“I pledge allegiance to the Christian Flag and to the Savior for whose Kingdom it stands;

one brotherhood, uniting all mankind in service and in love.”

“I pledge allegiance to the Christian Flag and to the Savior for whose Kingdom it stands.

One Savior, crucified, risen, and coming again with life and liberty to all who believe. Amen.”

THE PLEDGE TO THE BIBLE!

“I pledge allegiance to the Bible, God’s Holy Word.

I will make it a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path,

and I will hide its words in my heart that I might not sin against God.”

In this weekend of celebrating not only the Freedom of our nation, but that we have had this freedom for 250 years, may we truly understand and celebrate the God of our fathers who stepped out in Faith and who Loved God and His word an based our original constitution on the Bible.

With out Christ and the Bible America would not exist and our true freedom deep in our hearts would not be possible.

May we put this verse into practice:

2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV) If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

I encourage you to give allegiance to the one who has set us truly free and worship and praise Him every day, not just on July 4th!

______________________________________

Father, thank you for giving us freedom from fear, doubt and negative thoughts and despair within! You fill us with peace and set us free to be all we were created to be! On this a week of celebrating the United States of America, we want to give you Praise and Adoration for real freedom deep inside! I ask this in the might name of Jesus’! Amen!

“HEALTHY”!

I saw on the news where a giant tree had fallen on a 4-unit apartment. As they showed the split you could see where the tree was dead all inside. It was to be removed in a few days, but the winds and rain came, and it came crashing down!

This tree looked healthy on the outside but was dead on the inside.

Why? Maybe the roots were not getting water or maybe insects or something was eating on the inside, but the tree had lost strength!

In the Bible Jesus rebuked the Pharisees of looking religious on the outside but inward they were filled with dead men’s bones!

We have had the experience of many healthy trees coming down in a storm but a tree that is dead inside does not need much wind to just cause it to fall and destroy all that is in its way.

I want to compare the dead tree to our walk with Jesus Christ!

We can say all the right Christian words and attend church every week and still be walking around with no Joy, or Peace, or Power, or Satisfaction, or real life inside!

We can have hurts and failures eating away at us or we are not surrendering to all Jesus provides for us and allow Him to fill us with His presence!

Jesus declared it is from the heart that bad attitudes, actions, and words, come and they reflect what is inside.

He declared it is also from the heart that Joy, Peace, Kindness, Goodness, Mercy and Compassion, Praise and Encouraging words and actions come!

How do we stay health inside as a Christian?

We communicate, surrender, pray, read the word, and let the word read us!

As we open our hearts and let the Holy Spirit continually do cleansing work deep inside where the real us is, we begin to feel the presence of the Holy Spirit that gives us peace!

Just as Jesus came aside and prayed and communicated with the Father, we must do the same. We must spend time dedicated to listening, learning, and sharing our needs. We must listen, hear deep inside, and obey!

This cannot happen if you are trying to do it all yourself and are not allowing Jesus through the Holy Spirit to live through you!

The word that has been flowing through my prayers for a while now is SURRENDER!

The Father desires us to throw up our hands and surrender everything in our lives to Him! We must SURRENDER all we are and all we are not to all He is! He will take our surrender and give us the satisfaction we desire and will fill us with the peace that the world cannot give!

He will guide each day and fill us with wisdom to make right decisions and will do what we cannot do to solve every situation in our lives!

However, we are created with choice, and we must choose to spend time IN HIS PRESENCE!

A representative of a powerful person must spend time with that person to understand who he is and what he desires and to receive direction!

How can we walk each day trying to do all the task we need to do, and also represent Christ as we live our lives, without spending time in praise, worship, and listening!

If we do that, we can walk each day with the assurance that we are walking in the best way to affect others for eternity!

One of my favorite lines in a hymn says:

“He walks with me and talks with me and tells me I am His own!”

What a safe and satisfying feeling to know He is guiding and leading and loving us and we are His own!

That is being healthy deep inside where the real us is!

Let the few lines of this song be your prayer today!

“I SURRENDER ALL, I SURENDER ALL. ALL TO YOU MY BLESSED SAVIOR I SURRENDER ALL!”

____________________________________________________

Father, how sweet it is when we surrender fully to your love and care and receive daily communion and direction and the peace that passes understanding. When we do not understand all that is happening to us and in the world, we can rest in you and in the power of your might! I pray that each one who reads this will be moved to surrender to you and you will walk with each of us and talk with each of us and tell us we are yours! I pray this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth! Amen!

SURENDER!

June 16, 2026//

We all know that 1 + 1 equals 2.

But what if we were told over and over again that 1 + 1 was 3.

Suppose we heard that daily, monthly, and yearly, without hearing the truth and seeing it’s proof.

Would we be so convinced that we would argue with those who held to the truth that 1 + 1 equals 2.

What a silly illustration you say!

Well, we prove that this can happen as people listen to the lies of those guided by evil. They declare good is evil and evil is good and multitudes believe all they are taught.

If we hear something enough, we grasp it as truth unless we know the truth and the truth has set us free and we continue to learn and walk in the truth that Jesus is the way and His word is Truth.

The word tells us there is life after death and each person will spend it in heaven with Jesus or in hell in torment. Yet multitudes believe there is no life after death because that is what they have been taught repeatedly.

The word teaches us that there is no difference in male and female, bond or free, race or heritage. We are all created by God almighty to be His hand extended on earth.

Yet many are convinced that some are superior to others whether it be gender, race, financial status, or family.

The word teaches that God is Love and He Loves us unconditionally but many who are taught that there is a God, are embedded with the lie that we must earn His love.

Others are taught there is no God and we can just live as we want. Others are told there is a God, but he is not concerned with the affairs of humans.

If a person hears how ugly they are consistently, they will see ugly in the mirror no matter how beautiful they may be.

But our heavenly father says we are Beautiful to Him, and we are precious in His sight!

Lies heard and listened to can shape our thinking and our beliefs until we are convinced they are right.

The word tells us that we were fearfully and wonderfully made and yet many believe it ss ok to play god and take that precious life before it is ever born.

Why am I sharing this? Because we have allowed the world too much room in our homes and schools and even our churches, feeding us, our youth, our children, and our friends, lies.

The word tells us that the devil is a liar, but we do not believe that.

We continue to allow half-truths or total lies to infiltrate our minds, wills, and emotions and forget that Jesus said we would know the truth and the truth would set us free. Free from evil and lies and free to be all we were created to be!

In Matthew and Mark Jesus teaches us that it is so important what we see and hear and where we go that he uses an illustration of exaggeration that we should cut off hand or foot or pluck out an eye. He was teaching that it is important that we guard the truth.

To receive the sacrifice Jesus made for us on the Cross is the beginning of walking in truth. Then we must spend time reading and meditating on the Bible and listening to the still small voice deep inside to continue to walk in truth.

We must share truth with others and pray their hearts are open to truth.

If those in the world we live in never hear truth, how can they know they believe a lie!

What lie are you believing today? Is it your worth, or relationships, or physical, financial or the world around us?

May each of us take the truth of the Bible and make it what we think and listen to and believe. May each of us defeat evil with truth. The truth sets us free and Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life!

_____________________________________

Father, thank you for your truth that says you fight our battles and provide for us and tell us how to live life to its fullest! May each of our conscience minds and subconscious minds hear only your voice. May you assure us of truth deep inside and may we share the truth that you, Father, so loved us, you gave so we can have life and life abundantly. Thank you that all good and perfect gifts come from you and you never change! I ask this in Jesus’ name! Amen!

‘WHEN TIME IS TIED UP, NIT A SINGLE THREAD WIL BE LEFT HANGING!”

John 14:27 (KJV)

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Psalm 29:11 (KJV)

The Lord will give strength unto his people; The Lord will bless his people with peace.

Philippians 1:6 (KJV)

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

Isaiah 64:8 (KJV)

But now, O Lord, thou art our father; We are the clay, and thou our potter; And we all are the work of thy hand.

Romans 12:10 (KJV)

Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;

John 3:16–17 (KJV)

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Psalm 9:2 (KJV)

I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High.

Psalm 98:4 (KJV)

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth: Make a loud noise, and rejoice and sing praise.

Matthew 11:28–30 (KJV) 28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Psalm 37:3–6 (KJV)

Trust in the Lord, and do good; So shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

Delight thyself also in the Lord; And he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

Commit thy way unto the Lord; Trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, And thy judgment as the noonday.

WHEN WE HUMBLE OURSELVES AND EMPTY OUT OUR PRIDE, OUR DOUBTS, OUR FEARS, GOD WILL FILL US WITH FAVOR AND STRENGTH!

BE BLESSED IN EVERYWAY!

“PRAISE!”

Me-Maw Thoughts

If we praise, we do not have to fight!

What a thought! Praise brings Victory!

Jehoshaphat as King had the people pray and then He obeyed the directions from the Lord God Almighty!

2 Chronicles 20:21–22 (KJV)

21 And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the Lord, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the Lord; for his mercy endureth for ever. 22 And when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.

This scripture makes me laugh with Joy, and a renewed knowledge that Praise Brings Victory!

If we truly want the Lord to fight our battles, we must dedicate ourselves not only to the Word and Prayer request but Prayer PRAISE!

Psalm 18:3 (KJV) I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: So shall I be saved from mine enemies.

What are the inner, outer, anywhere in life enemies you are fighting? Defeat them with Praise to God for who He is!

Is anything to hard for God? We would all say no but our actions show we do not really believe that.  As we begin to Praise our faith grows and God acts on our behalf, for our good and His Glory!

Psalm 27:6 (KJV) And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: Therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord.

Psalm 28:7 (KJV) The Lord is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in him, and I am helped: Therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; And with my song will I praise him.

Psalm 34:1 (KJV) I will bless the Lord at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth.

The Bible is filled with Praise scriptures, and we know that Heaven is filled with Praise continually. So, if we want to bring Heaven to Earth, we need to walk the Praise walk.

We are to cast all our care on Him and that frees us up to render the Almighty God of Heaven and Earth Worship and Praise for who He is and who He is in us!

Psalm 30:5B (KJV) Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

How does Joy come? Through Praise in through all things. Not for all things but sometimes in spite of them!

I encourage you to mix scripture with Praise when you pray! I always close these thoughts with prayer and today I am going to show you what I mean by mixing scripture with praise.

You may be a pro at this but if you have never tried it, I pray it helps!

May 25, 2026///

Since we celebrated Memorial Day yesterday, I wanted to share a story that has been around a long time. You may or may not have heard or read it before, and it may not be true, but it cements the fact that when a heart is hungry for Truth, God can use anything. Let it touch your heart as we remember those who served and gave all!

*********************************************************

During the North American Campaign, a bunch of soldier boys had been on a long hike and arrived in a little town called Kasinok. The next morning, being a Sunday, several of the boys went to church. A sergeant commanded the boys in church, and after the Chaplain had read the prayer, the text was taken up next. Those of the boys who had prayer books took them out, but this one boy had only a deck of cards, and so he spread them out. The sergeant saw the cards, and said “Soldier, put away those cards.”

After the services were over, the soldier was taken prisoner and brought before the provost marshal.

The marshal said, “Sergeant, why have you brought this man here!”

“For playing cards in church, sir.”

“And what have you to say for yourself, boy?”

“Much, sir,” replied the soldier.

The marshal replied, “I hope so, for if not, I will punish you more severely than any man has ever been punished.”

The soldier said, “Sir, I have been on march for about six days, and I have neither Bible, nor prayer book; but I hope to satisfy you, sir, with the purity of my intentions.”

And with that, the boy started his story.

“You see, sir, When I look at the ace, it reminds me that there is but one God. And the deuce, it reminds me that the Bible is divided into two parts, the Old and the New Testaments. And when I look at the trey, I think of the Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit.

“When I see the four, I think of the four evangelists who preached the Gospel: there were Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. And when I see the five, it reminds me of the five virgins who trimmed their lamps. There were ten of them: five who trimmed their lamps, five were foolish and were shut out.

“And when I see the six, it reminds me that in six days God made this great Heaven and Earth. When I see the seven, it reminds me that on the seventh day, God rested from His great work. And when I see the eight, I think of the eight righteous persons that God saved when He destroyed this earth. There was Noah, his wife, and their sons and their wives.

“And when I see the nine, I think of the lepers our Savior cleaned, because it was nine out of ten who didn’t even thank Him. When I see the ten, I think of the Ten Commandments that God handed down to Moses on a table of stone.

“When I see the king, it reminds me that there is but one King of Heaven – God Almighty. And when I see the queen… I think of Mary, the mother of Jesus. And when I see the jack of knaves, it is the devil.

“When I count the number of spots on a deck of cards, I find 365, the number of days in a year. There are 52 cards, the number of weeks in a year. There are four suits, the number of weeks in a month. There are 12 picture cards, the number of months in a year. There are 13 tricks, the number of weeks in a quarter.

“So, you see, sir, my pack of cards serves me as a Bible, almanac and prayer book.”

With a tear, the marshal just waved the soldier away.

I Know you are probably familiar with the story in Genesis of Joseph who was the son of Jacob who was Abraham’s grandson!

We usually talk about the trouble Joseph had and his journey from home to Egypt as a slave, to prison and then to the Palace and second only to the Pharaoh!

Today, I want us to look at Joseph’s father, Jacob. Jacob had 12 son’s and was an old man who thought Joseph was dead. He was deceived to believe this.

For 20 years he believed his son Joseph was dead. Joseph was a dreamer and so for this discussion I want you to view Joseph as Jacobs dream and desire. Even though a parent should not have favorites, Joseph was Jacobs favorite.

He now found that his son: his dream, was alive and he and all his son’s and their families were on their way to dwell in Egypt because there would be 5 more years of the famine they had been experiencing.

During the 20 years Jacob believed Joseph was dead he still honored and worshipped God. On the way with all his family he stopped at Beer-Sheba and built and altar and worshipped.

God appeared to Him in the visions of the night assuring Him that He would be a great nation and would indeed see his son Joseph.

Jacob had a dream son he thought was dead for 20 years!

DO you have a dream that you believe has been dead a long time?

Let us look at what has happened during the 20 years. God was working on both sides of the dream! He was bringing the answer to the dream to maturity as Joseph went through the process of betrayal and victory!

Jacob had no hope of ever seeing Joseph again, but God was working all things out!

When we give up and believe our dreams, or desires, or visions are dead God is still working all thing for our good and His Glory.

Buying into the lies and deception that the dream is dead is what the enemy wants!

Jacob was bent beneath the load of grief and then found out his son was alive. I think he probably was wrestling with belief and unbelief. Was this real? Was he really going to see his dream Joseph stand before him?

Just as God saw Jacobs desire to believe but also experiencing doubt and assured him in the visions that Joseph was truly alive and the promises made to Abraham were still yes and amen, the dream you thought was dead, God is saying is surely alive and He has been getting it ready for you!

Maybe it is you who had to go through a process or maybe circumstances or situations or others that had to go through the process but be assured the dream is still alive and as you rise as Jacob did and walk toward it you will see it come to pass.

When Jacob saw and embraced Joseph, he was ready to die, but he lived 17 more years. We will see our dream come to pass but that does not mean God does not have more dreams and visions.

Trust God’s timing, pray and worship, and move toward the God given dreams, desires, and visions, within you!

What layers and layers of teaching are in the story of Joseph, but I pray you have begun to understand that our dreams and visions are never too old, never too big, and we are never out of reach of them. Just trust and obey and let God work all things together for our good and His Glory!

Meditate on the visions and dreams God has placed in you and allow the Holy Spirit to stir them up! Rest in the promise that He can and He will!!!

Our God is alive and so are out dreams!

Father, thank you that just as our prayers never die our dreams never die. You are working on us and on all the dreams, visions, and desires that you have placed in us. May we never give in to the deception of satan that tells us they are gone. We lay our hearts before you and receive the assurance you give that with you nothing is impossible! I ask this in Jesus’ name! Amen!

Love, MeMaw!
