Today is the day to go out and vote if you have not already done so. As we vote we are declaring our choice. We have the awesome privilege in the United States of America to let our voice be heard. And even though none of the candidates are perfect, and if we could, we might want others to vote for, we need to let our voices be heard and vote for what we believe in!
Because, you see, to not vote is to cast a vote against the person who you think would be the better one for the office!
We choose!
I want you to think with me then about the choice we have whether to let God’s Love through Jesus Christ and all He did for us on the cross give us the peace that passes understanding or to not receive the freedom Jesus paid for which is a vote against your best life!
We were created with choice, and we can choose good or evil! We can choose to make the choices we want or allow the creator, through Jesus Christ to guide us every day!
You may have heard others describe their life with a heart for Jesus at the control and it just does not make sense!
That is because Salvation through Jesus Christ cannot be fully explained it must be experienced!
You may be living what you think is a good life! Or you may be dealing with a broken heart and shattered dreams, but you do not have the peace deep inside that passes understanding.
Look at it as door to a house and you are on the porch or in the yard and others invite you to come inside! You stand and look at the door not understanding what is on the other side. You may be in mild weather or stormy wind, but you just do not want to open that door and walk through. If you are in balmy weather, you may think this is as good as it gets, and if you are in a storm, you may think there is no hope, not knowing the blessings that are on the other side of the door!
Finally, you stamp out your fear and doubt and open the door and walk into a warm blanket of love and peace that you did not know existed!
I need to tell you that things will not always be perfect after you walk through that door, that is not real life! But what I can tell you is that no matter what is happening on the outside, when our heart is centered on our creator and we allow Him control, we can have peace inside!
When we become agitated, frustrated, or just discombobulated, we know where to turn and as we praise anyway and ask for help from the creator the peace will return!
To be in a place to be able to turn it over to the Lord God Almighty, we need to spend time in prayer and releasing our day and reading the instruction book, the Bible! Just believing and saying yes to Jesus will not automatically give you the ability to recognize when you have taken the reigns of your life back.
And there is the greatest issue! We want to control and we want it our way when our prayer must be “Not my will but thine be done!”
The first song I wrote, years ago has a couple of lines that fit here!
“FAITH IS BELEIVING HE’LL DO EXACTLY WHAT HE SAID HE’D DO! AND TRUST IS ACTING ON WHAT I BELIEVE!”
If you are a Christian but find yourself in turmoil inside or void of peace, spend time studying His word and talking to Him as you would a friend, and opening your heart and giving all the stress, strain, and worry to Him!
Joshua 24:15 says in part: if it seems evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
What do you choose? To vote or not to vote! To serve Jesus or not!
Believe me! His way is the best way!

Father, thank you for making a way for us to defeat evil and cling to good! Help each of us to lean on you and release all our cares and situations to you and you will direct our paths! Thank you for you love! I ask in Jesus name! Amen!
