“CLIMB!”

Me-Maw Thoughts

Number 781

March 31, 2026///

Some of you today are facing situations and circumstances that you have never faced before! What do you do?

Some are dealing with illnesses, or problems that persist even though you may pray in faith believing, rebuke all evil and praise and worship for the answer! What do you do?

When we have done everything we know to do, we just stand fast in the knowledge that God Loves us and when we cannot see the way to go, we just hold on to His hand and Trust His nature even when nothing is changing!

As I was thinking of some situations and circumstances in my own and others’ lives, I remembered this song and wanted to share the lyrics with you!

Sometimes our only option is to climb the mountain before us, one step at a time!

“MY ONLY OPTION!”

VERSE1
What is that standing before me today?
Another big mountain, that won’t move away.
I could be discouraged, but I won’t this time.
My only option is climb.

CHORUS
My only option is strength in the Lord.
He’ll give me the power like He has before.
I can’t be defeated that’s not God’s design.
My only option is climb.

VERSE2
There are some mountains that will move away.
There’s another bright wonderful sun shiny day.
I face a battle that’s different this time.
But my only option is climb.

As a Christian that is our option. If we follow the culture, we can worry, complain, and whine that we do not understand. But as a believer we know that God feeds the birds, takes care of the sparrow, knows the number of hairs on our head and Loves us with a love we cannot comprehend.

Why do we have to climb? Why does every mountain not move? I cannot answer that but our part of walking this road of life is to understand He is God and we are not!

We do not see all the things He sees, and we do not see the finished product of our life that honors Him!

So, I encourage each of us today: keep believing, keep praising, keep trusting, and keep climbing!

Remember to snuggle and do not struggle!

_______________________________

Father in Jesus’ name I come! Thank you that we do not have to understand. We just hold to your hand. If we always hold your hand, we will always be safe and protected. You are our protector, our comforter, and our strength and we lean on you! Amen!

“WHAT?”

Me-Maw Thoughts

Number 780

March 24, 2026///

What on earth am I here for?

Today I encourage you to take some time and think about that question!

Each of us has different circumstances, grew up in various home situations, had people in our lives who pulled us away from good or pulled us to do good!

But life really comes down to the truth of what we are here for!

God created you, knows you and put you on this earth for a reason.

We get so caught up in what we are not or what we cannot do that we do not grasp what we are, and we can do!

“DON’T LET WHAT YOU CANNOT DO KEEP YOU FROM DOING WHAT YOU CAN. DON’T LET WHO YOU ARE NOT KEEP YOU FROM BEING WHO YOU ARE!”

We have a great big God who loves us, and we have a choice to love and serve Him or to go our own way! Do you think that what you do is not important because it is not seen or heard? Do you try getting from day to day, struggling to just make it?

Let me make it clear! There is a better way! You are here for a reason! There are people and situations that need you! And God is Great!

“GOD IS GREAT BECAUSE NOTHING IS TOO BIG FOR HIM: GOD IS GREAT BECAUSE NOTHING IS TOO SMALL FOR HIM!”

How do we walk in what we were created for?

  1. Do the best you can, with what you have, where you are!
  2. Understand that God is more concerned with who we are than what we do! Let Him change us from the inside out as we become more like Him in all we do!
  3. Encourage others as they use the talents and abilities God gave them even when what they are doing makes you feel less than. You are always more than enough!
  4. Surrender to the Lordship of Jesus and just spend time in His presence and let Him not only stir up the vision from Him but open doors and anoint you for everything you do daily!

Your family, your friends, your co-workers, your neighbors, the cashier at the store, all need to see a loving compassionate representative of Jesus Christ in you!

We must never get so caught up in trying to “make it,” as the culture we live in call’s it, that we forget every breath we take and ever step we make and ever word we speak affects others.

What are you here for? Maybe it is to sing like an angel before thousands of people or maybe it is to change a bed pan and hold a lonely elderly person’s hands! It could be to preach worldwide, or it could be to provide food for a hungry family.

It could be to be a missionary in Africa or to hug you child who has just broken your favorite dish and wipe the tears from that child’s eyes and speak words of affirmation and encouragement!

I ask you today: Where are you in the journey of “what on earth am I here for”?

Yes, we are all Blessed with talents and abilities, and we need to use those and do all we do as unto the Lord! But may I tell you what Jesus answered when asked the most important commandment!

Luke 10:27 (KJV) And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.

There is the answer! If we Love God and others that way, God will lead us into the specific reason we live!

“WHAT ARE YOU HERE FOR?”

Father in Jesus name I come! I praise you because you created each of us for a reason. I ask you to touch each of those who read this today with the knowledge that they can change diapers, direct businesses, or call a friend as unto you and with a heart for you. You see and you Bless all we do in your name. Touch us with your presence and peace! Amen!

“THE CAT”!

Me-Maw Thoughts

Number 779

March 17, 2026///

Sunday night at about nine-thirty, a flash of something went on one side of our TV. Ronald had gone to bed, and I had thought that my eyes had done something weird. But as quickly as I thought that the flash went more slowly the other way, and I saw it was a grown orange cat.

You must understand that we do not have a cat, neither indoors nor out! I jumped up and woke Ronald up and we began looking for this cat that had somehow got in the house when the door was opened.

Finally, we found the cat, but when we tried opening the front door and making the cat move it ran the other direction away from the door. This type of searching and it running went on for about 2 hours and I will not go into all the details of our efforts, including food, to entice the cat to go through the front or back door.

We were ready to give up and go to bed when one more effort was made. I will say that for the second time it landed in our kitchen window. The frustration was just so overwhelming because we were lost about what to do!

At last, we showed that we were smarter than the cat we kept having to find and were able to direct it to the door!

As I thought about this it reminded me of the things of the enemy that invade our lives. We try to get the upper hand over these frustrations whether they are job, financial, physical, family, relationships or just plain too much to do, but the problem evades all we try.

Yes, we figured out how to get the cat out of the house and that may seem like us, but I can tell you I kept praying for wisdom. But when I decide to give up, we figured it out: God gave the wisdom!

The truth I want to share is you cannot solve the problems or get rid of the enemy’s attacks in your own efforts or wisdom. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, desires us to cast all our cares on Him. He not only cares but has the answer and the power. When we do what we can and leave the rest in His hands, we see things begin to change.

1 Peter 5:7 (KJV)Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Just as for us Sunday night, it may seem like you keep fighting and the problem stays the same, but when you just do what you can, and put the rest in His hands, you show you trust His word that says He will work all things for our good and His glory.

Romans 8:28 (KJV) And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

So, we keep doing what we know to do and trust the Lord Jesus to do what we cannot! What a powerful freeing thing it is to be secure in knowing He is able and He is willing!

Matthew 11:28 (KJV)Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

If we just understand that our Heavenly Father loves us and sees us and will fight our battles as we release all to Him, our daily lives will hold more joy and peace than frustrations and agitations!

I invite you to join me in saying to the Father: “I SURRENDER ALL”!

——————————————————————

Father, I come in the name of Jesus and thank you for your love and care. Forgive each of us for how much of our lives are spent out of peace and joy because we try to do it all ourselves. Lord, I surrender everything in my life to you. Guide me and fill me with wisdom from above. Help each one who reads this to snuggle up to you and let you wrap your warm blanket of love all around us. Lord, we trust you! Amen!

Love, MeMaw!

“SPEED!”

Me-Maw Thoughts

Number 778

March 10, 2026///

As I was driving the other day, I was staying right at the speed limit but really, because it was daytime, clear, and there was no traffic where I was, I really wanted to go a little faster. However, I try to stay at or under the speed limit but sometimes I find I am not heeding the signs!

Why do we break the law? Those are limits not suggestions, they are laws and breaking them can result in a ticked and fine!

We find ourselves speeding because we are distracted or our mind is on something unrelated to driving and then find we are breaking the law. Or we are in a hurry and think we can just push it and go faster and pray we do not get stopped. Perhaps we just think the laws do not apply to us and they are just to make us miserable!

I think one of the main reasons is that we decide since everybody does it, we can too!

I know each of us have been on a busy interstate and when going the 60 or 70 posted speed limit, cars, and trucks and even 18 wheelers have zipped by like we are standing still. I find most of the cars are speeding by me when I am within the limits!

My Daddy used to tell us girls when the “everybody is” phrase would come out of our mouths: “If everybody jumped off of a cliff, would you”!

Today I ask you this! Because the culture around us has caused many to ignore Gods commands and directions, will you?

The speed limits on our roads are for our safety and the safety of others. The directions in the Bible are for our salvation and then for our best life, and we should be living and walking in the attitudes and attributes that Jesus walked!

Many Christians find themselves doing things that do not honor God and having attitudes that are not Christ like because everybody around them is doing these things and acting this way.

We sometimes let our guard down and find ourselves pulled into complaining and gossiping about others or situations. We get pulled into going somewhere or watching something that tears down our faith and trust in God.

Or maybe we are just hurrying through each day and let our dedication to our Lord grow cold and find ourselves becoming more like the culture we live in rather than like Jesus!

Why? When those who have received Jesus as Savior understand that God’s way is best. His word is to teach us and show us the way to the best life focusing on eternal values.

The verse that says Faith comes by hearing the word with the mind set to follow it means just that. When we neglect to read and study the word, we set ourselves up for lack of faith.

Romans 10:17 (KJV) So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Where the Bible says in His presence is fullness of joy is true and we find ourselves lacking joy in our days when we neglect spending at least a little time in His presence each day.

Psalm 16:11 (KJV) Thou wilt shew me the path of life: In thy presence is fulness of joy;

The Bible has much to say about prayer, asking and receiving, honoring God with our words and praising and thanking Him for His Blessings!

When we truly turn our hearts toward our Savior and do our best, we will live our best life. We may get distracted for a moment, but we will realize it and get back into the rhythms of walking in Love, Joy, Peace, Thanksgiving, and Praise!

I encourage you not to let the cares of this world, bury schedules, and the deceitfulness of success and riches rob you of walking in the best life possible that was paid for by Jesus Christ of Nazareth!

Know the word and let the Holy Spirit guide you and show you the right way every day of your life!

Follow God’s laws and do not push the limits!

_________________________________________

Father, we humans are such mysterious people. We know the way to true joy and peace and yet we let circumstances or just life itself keep us from the things that will show us the right path and bless and lead us in every way. Fill each of us with wisdom to make the right choices and stand strong for good in the face of evil. Your Grace is sufficient and your Love is free and unconditional but let us never forget you give us direction in your word for a reason! We praise you Lord for who you are and who you are in each of us! Amen!

Love to each of you! Amen!

“QUESTIONS!”

Me-Maw Thoughts

Number 777

March 3, 2026///

This morning as I was reading the Bible and praying and question myself about why I cannot pray and the issues I have are healed. I know that healing is something Jesus paid the price for, I love Him, and we fellowship and in His presence is fullness of joy and I know He is with me and hears me and I do not for one second doubt His Power.

I pray for others that are healed but Ronald and I are treading some physical issues that just keep hanging on. I have praised, rebuked, evicted and spoken the word against them!

So as I pondered (I like that word, don’t you?) this and asked the Lord as I had done before to show me what needed to be changed or prayed or whatever to walk in divine health and healing, I came across these familiar verses in Proverbs that set my mind on a familiar coarse I felt I needed to share.

Proverbs 3:5–7a (KJV)

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart;

And lean not unto thine own understanding.

In all thy ways acknowledge him,

And he shall direct thy paths.

Be not wise in thine own eyes:

As I am trying to understand I see; TRUST AND DO NOT LEAN ON MY OWN UNDERSTANDING.

I have walked with God for a long, long time and I know there are things we will never understand until we see Jesus face to face and then it will not matter.

I ask you the question I then asked myself: Do you and I really Trust? Trust is a Powerful thing and yet we walk in the basis of it daily, such as trusting the floor will hold us up when we walk on it or the morning will come and the night will descend!

We do not consciously think these things as they are happening but that is a type of trust. We trust family and friends to be faithful and that does not always happen!

But do we really Trust the one who knows us best and created us to give us all good and perfect gifts as He promised. Do we understand He is good all the time? And can we Trust His Loving nature when we cannot see His hand working!

Are we willing to follow the verses above and AKNOWLEGE HIM IN ALL WE DO AND LET HIM DIRECT US AND GUIDE US IN EVERY WAY?

Do we understand that we are not wise and that God sees all and He will work all things for our good and His Glory?

Our Heavenly Father is good all the time. If we really believe that we will praise Him in the good times and the bad times. We will let Him lead us with great care through the valleys and rejoice with us on the mountain tops.

He cares about every small and large situation and concern in our lives and all of those we are praying for and none of our prayers are ignored. He knows best and if we really believe He is who He says He is then we Trust through the pain, tears, and long nights. We trust our creator to give us what we need when we need it!

I encourage you today to praise Him for who He is and for who He is in you! I encourage you to join me in releasing all we are and all we are not for all He is!

We are Blessed, the apple of His eye, and He will not only supply our needs but satisfy the desires of our heart!

Trust and obey!

Praise and walk in victory!

Keep praying and never give up!

________________________________________________________

Father, thank you for seeing every concern and situation in each of our lives. You Love us do much and we each Trust you and know you are fighting our battles, and you are victorious. Forgive us when we try to understand your incredible ways! We rest in you and cast all our care on you and we walk in the joy and peace the world cannot give nor understand. We receive your precious love and we praise you! Amen!

Me-Maw Thoughts

I want to share with you some thoughts from July of 2021. The statistics are probably increased by a lot, and the outreaches have no doubt increased also!

Number 534 /// July 6, 2021///

Do you have food to eat, clothes to wear, and a bed to sleep in?

Do you realize that in 2019 there were 690 million or 8.9% of the world population were undernourished? 35 million of those were in the United States.

There are approximately 100 million homeless people worldwide and 500,000 in the United States.

Those of us who are blessed with many choices of clothing never wear 50% of the clothes in our closets.

Why am I telling you this? Because Jesus came to give Life and Life abundantly!

Luke 12:48 (KJV) says in part: For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required:

1 Corinthians 4:2 (KJV)
Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

If you answered yes to the question at the beginning, you are Blessed more than many in the world! What are we doing with our Blessings?

There are many amazing works of sharing food, clothing, housing and most importantly Jesus, around the world.

But as I was reading some of the things happening, it occurred to me how many of us take our Blessings for granted!

In the Tigray region of Ethiopia Solomon and his pregnant wife, and two children had to flee to another place because of the fighting that was getting closer and closer to their family. In the place they fled to food was scarce and when Samaritan’s Purse came and gave them non-perishable nutritious food, Solomon made this statement:

“Now my children will eat until they are full, before they could only have one bite.” Can you imagine not being able to allow your kids to eat more than one bite, whether that is one bite a meal or one bite a day.

Operation shoe box is bringing to kids all across the world the first gift many of them have every received and they are receiving the truth of Jesus along with it.

An 18-month-old was given his health back through an operation by “Children’s Heart Project”, that Samaritan’s Purse has! Because of this an entire village who was steeped in witchcraft, was brought to Jesus!

Clean water access was brought to a village whose people got dirty water from a pond because that was all that was available. This made the children sick, but they had no choice. Then loving Christians moved in with the answer and now they have clean water and the good news of Jesus!

In Brooklyn New York is the headquarters of “Metro World Child,” that is now reaching children around the world!

250,000 children weekly are hearing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In the slums of New York this outreach has the largest Sunday School in the world. They are reaching, feeding, and doing amazing things for the Lord Jesus!

There are amazing works of Jesus going on in our Nation and World.

Our own church, Joshua’s Place in Jackson Georgia, feed the hungry, go to the homeless, minister to the prisoners, and help those who are overcoming addictions! We also send monetary help to ministries in Israel, the USA, and around the world.

As we just celebrated freedom in American on the 4th of this month, I begin to think that I am blessed just to have been born in this amazing country.

The USA is not perfect, but it is the most amazing country in the world. That is why so many are trying to get into this nation, and yet many of us who were born here do not appreciate that Blessing.

But may I ask you today what you are doing with the amazing Blessings you have? You are blessed to be a blessing.

As I have said many times, we cannot do everything, and maybe we cannot do much, but we can do something.

I implore you today to ask Father God, what you can do to touch lives with the Gospel by first meeting their needs.

Maybe someone in your sphere of influence needs food, clothes, shelter, school supplies, a Christmas gift, or maybe they just need a friend who will listen and love them unconditionally.

May we who are so Blessed and so spoiled begin to look outside ourselves, outside our selfish desires, and really see people as Jesus sees them: His creations, which have been brought down by the enemy.

Everything we possess or are able to do is from the Heavenly Father. What are we doing with the funds, possessions, talent, abilities, and people that God has made us stewards over? It is all His, we are to follow His instruction for its use!

______________________

Father, forgive us when we fall into the trap that it is all about us. May each of us realize where our Blessing come from and that we are only Stewards or caretakers of it all. May we follow your leading for use of provisions, talents and abilities and Love to touch others for you! In Jesus name I pray! Amen

Use your Blessings! MeMaw

“HANGING OUT WITH JESUS!’

Me-Maw Thoughts

Number 775

February 17, 2026///

Jesus is our Savior and is making intersession for us.

We go to Jesus at different times and situation:

BUT TODAY I ENCOURAGE YOU TO APPROACH JESUS JUST AS A GROUP OF CHILDREN DID.

 Mark 10:13-16 (KJV)
13 And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.
14 But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
15 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.
16 And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.

Notice that the parents brought the kids to Jesus to be blessed by him. But I ask you this morning to think about the children. Think like a child.

I BELIEVE THEY HAD NO DESIRE EXCEPT TO BE WITH JESUS. THEY SAW HIS LOVE AND JOY EXPRESSED THROUGH HIS SMILE AND EYES. JESUS TELLS US TO COME AS A LITTLE CHILD. HE MEANS WITH LOVE AND THE CAPACITY TO ENJOY WITHOUT EXPECTATION.

I BELIEVE RIGHT NOW, THAT JESUS JUST WANT US TO SPEND SOME TIME HANGING OUT WITH HIM.

  • Ask him for nothing!
  • Tell him none of your problems and situations!
  • Just enjoy being with Jesus and let Jesus enjoy being with you.

David was ready to fight goliath when the occasion arose because he had spent many nights on the hillside with the sheep just hanging out with Jesus. Writing praise songs to him. He was confident that God was with him because he had developed a friendship. He knew who Jesus was.

We are just supposed to enjoy being in the presence of the king of kings and lord of lords.

WE TAKE LIFE AND OURSELVES TO SERIOUSLY SOMETIMES.

Jesus said.: Revelation 3:20 (MSG)
20 Look at me. I stand at the door. I knock. If you hear me call and open the door, I’ll come right in and sit down to supper with you.

IMAGINE RUNNING TO JESUS. IMAGINE LOOKING INTO HIS LOVING EYES. IMAGINE LAUGHING WITH HIM AND LETTING HIM SPIN YOU AROUND. IMAGINE DANCING WITH HIM AND JUST LAYING BACK ON THE GRASS AND WATCHING THE CLOUD FORMATIONS. JUST BASK IN BEING WITH HIM.

As we sit in His Presence just let him enjoy you loving him and let him love you.

Father, we love your presence and adore you! In your presence is fullness of joy! Thank you that we can just hang out with you and bask in reality that we are loved and secure in you! Amen!

Love, MeMaw

“MY DESIRE FOR YOU!”

Me-Maw Thoughts

Number 774

February 10, 2026//

I am thinking today of my desire for each of you who read this. My heart is full of God’s Blessings to me of awesome family and great friends and neighbors.

I have lived over 81 years and though there have been hard times and valleys as well as the good times, I feel that I have been blessed beyond all measure!

To know the Lord Jesus as Savior is to walk in peace that the world cannot give and even though we find ourselves not always walking in that peace, we understand the place to find it is in the presence of our Savior.

So, today I desire for you the warmth of knowing you are loved by the creator God and He will never leave nor forsake you! I desire you receive and give kindness and a smile and spread the joy Jesus gives!

I desire each of you to understand you are vital to making this world a better place by showing love not hate, by speaking in faith not fear, and by doing good and not revenge!

My heart prays for each of you to realize that you can release every situation you face, no matter how bad it looks to the Lordship of the one who created you and who will guide you in every move and decision if you allow it!

Ultimately my desire would be for each of you to have a perfect life but since that is impossible in this life, I pray for your continued health, for healing of any sickness or disease and favor with God and with people wherever you go.

I desire the smile of a baby to brighten your day and the laughter of a child to put praise in your heart!

I pray for you to look at the flowers, trees, birds, and all nature and understand if God cares for those He will and can handle everything you need for Him to!

I pray a song will touch you with gladness, and a phone call will fill you with strength!

My desire for each of you is good food, good friends, and good church and relationships!

But most of all, without sounding like a broken record, I desire you know and serve the Lord Jesus with all your heart. If you do not understand, just receive what He paid for on the cross and you will comprehend what I am saying.

To have a relationship with Jesus cannot be fully explained but needs to be experienced!

I pray for Jesus to be your dearest friend and guide you every day.

In closing I want to leave you with this prayer Paul prayed for the church in Colossians 1:9-14. I encourage you to read and pray both versions over yourself and those you love!

Colossians 1:9–14 (KJV)

For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11 Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; 12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: 13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

Colossians 1:9–14 (TPT)

Since we first heard about you, we’ve kept you always in our prayers that you would receive the perfect knowledge of God’s pleasure over your lives, making you reservoirs of every kind of wisdom and spiritual understanding. 10 We pray that you would walk in the ways of true righteousness, pleasing God in every good thing you do. Then you’ll become fruit-bearing branches, yielding to his life, and maturing in the rich experience of knowing God in his fullness! 11 And we pray that you would be energized with all his explosive power from the realm of his magnificent glory, filling you with great hope.

12 Your hearts can soar with joyful gratitude when you think of how God made you worthy to receive the glorious inheritance freely given to us by living in the light. 13 He has rescued us completely from the tyrannical rule of darkness and has translated us into the kingdom realm of his beloved Son. 14 For in the Son all our sins are canceled and we have the release of redemption through his very blood.

As I was reading the familiar story of Jesus first miracle, in Cana of Galilee, in John chapter two, I want to share some insights that the Lord spoke to my Spirit.

There are many ways to look at all this stands for and we have heard it taught in different ways. The scripture is always reminding us of truths to make our hearts glad and mature us in our walk with the Lord.

Jesus was attending a happy occasion, but an embarrassing problem arose and His mother, Mary, asked Him to fix it. May I tell you when we encounter a sudden or on-going situation that needs fixing, Jesus can fix it. Mary had no doubt of Jesus Power!

They had runout of wine and Mary told the servants to do whatever Jesus told them to! Jesus told them to fill the six waterpots they had with water. He then had them draw water out and give it to the head person at the wedding feast! It was not just a good wine it was the best.

We are the vessels and the water is the word!

2 Timothy 2:20 (KJV) But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.

1 Corinthians 3:16 (KJV) Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

We are created to Honor God. We are His Vessels, Temples, made to do good!

Ephesians 5:26 (KJV) That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

The word is the water we should be filled with. When we read, study and let God fill us with the truth of the word, we become vessels of Honor and not of dishonor.

It took great faith for the servants to draw out the water to serve it. They just obeyed.

We must follow that example and when we feel like we have nothing to give, if we let God draw out our words, our work, our ministries (whatever form that takes) we lead others to new and real life and gladness in Jesus.

But it takes faith. Sometimes great faith. The servants may have been shaking as they drew what they knew was water to give to the head of the wedding feast!

It could be fear that keeps you from letting the word that is in you flow out to others, fear of not saying anything worthwhile.

But when we trust God and just obeyed what He says, He takes what we have to give and turns it into a miracle to change lives.

I desire to be that vessel that is filled with the word of God and by faith flows out to people and in and through situations.

What about you? What type of vessel are you? A vessel focused on self or a vessel filled with the word and focused on eternal things.

What is God saying to each of us that we are afraid to obey because of various reasons.

Faith is seeing it with spiritual eyes and obeying what we are led to do to guide and help others!

But we must allow the Holy Spirit to fill us with the water of the word! We cannot pour out of an empty vessel.

If the servants had not filled the water pots with water, they would have had nothing to draw from.

If we do not spend time being strengthened and filled with His word, we will not have anything to draw from. We will be an empty vessel or a vessel filled with junk.

May we all be full of the word and ready to be used for God’s glory!

___________________________________________________

Father, fill us full of your truths as we spend time in your word! Thank you for stirring up a desire within all who read this to be obedient and give out of the abundance of a heart, or vessel, filled with glory and truth. May we understand obedience brings victory, peace, and power. In Jesus’ name I pray! Amen!

How many times over the last few days have you heard and said yourself, “It is so cold,” or “I’m freezing”?

Most of us think that if we wanted this kind of weather we would move to the north!

We have all heard the instructions to cover plants, bring pets inside, cover outside faucets, leave cabinet doors open and faucets dripping. We have been cautioned during the ice and snow to stay off the roads and be prepared for power outages!

We all heard and prayerfully you obeyed! However, I am sure there are those who heard but ignored the warnings. Not because they are part of the groups that work on our power, on the roads, or protect us or give us medical help, but because they thought they knew best!

I have no doubt they suffered for it, but at best they were not prepared for all that happened!

The Bible, the word of God, tells us that Jesus was born, lived a sinless life, died a horrible death, was buried and rose again on the third day!

We hear, but do we believe?

The writer of Hebrews says of the Israelites in the wilderness:

Hebrews 4:2 (KJV) For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

The writer is saying that to hear is not enough, we must receive the truth and believe it to enter the rest that comes with trusting in Jesus as our Savior!

We can have rest for our Spirit and soul (our mind, will and emotions), when we believe the word of God.

We will also enter complete rest when we see Jesus face to face. Meanwhile we can walk in this world with the rest that only Jesus can give!

The writer tells us that Gods word us like a two-edged sword.

One commentaries thought is that Gods word is one side and when we speak the word it is the other side, making it a two-mouthed sword!

We hear, speak, and obey what we believe.

In the last few days, we have put candles and flashlights, lighters, and other things together in one place that is easy to get to. (praise God our power has stayed on). We have followed the suggestions for keeping water flowing and have stayed off the roads.

Why, we heard and obeyed.

How sad that many times in our spiritual walk, we hear, we think we believe but do not obey!

On the cross, before He gave up His life to redeem those who would believe and receive, Jesus declared “IT IS FINISHED”!

The meteorologist told us what was coming and others told us how to prepare! The Dot told us how to stay safe! But it was up to each of us to listen and obey!

Jesus completed salvations plan! When we surrender our will to His and let Him guide us and give us wisdom, we can rest inside us as we go about our daily lives!

To quote one commentary, “Gods finished works supersede the brokenness of our planet”!

So, despite all the ugly that is going on in the world, when we take Jesus as Savior, and agree and speak God’s words, we can have peace and rest that will only come from HIM!

There is a song from way back that says:

TRUST AND OBEY, FOR THERE IS NO OTHER WAY!

TO BE HAPPY IN JESUS, BUT TO TRUST AND OBEY!
