“RESOLUIONS!”

Me-Maw Thoughts

As I was thinking about something Billy Graham said, I began to consider something I would like to share with you. May you heart be open to hear what this says to you!

The statement was “DON’T MAKE RESOLUTIONS, CREATE HABITS”!

Consider the daily habits you have! Routines in the morning and the direction of your day all operate with a large amt of habits! How we drive our car, interact with others, our daily chores and a thousand other things that we do repeatedly become habits! Most of them are just stuff that needed to be done but have no eternal value!

My mind went to the habits Jesus our Savior had and that is the habits we need to create in our own life! Christian means Christ like!

1)JESUS WENT AWAY FROM THE CROWDS AND PRAYED!

Matthew 14:23 (KJV) And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.

Mark 1:35 (KJV) And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

2)JESUS LISTENED AND OBEYED THE FATHER!

John 5:19 (KJV) Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

John 12:49 (KJV) For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.

3)JESUS OPERATED WITH COMPASSION TO THOSE IN NEED!

Matthew 14:14 (KJV)And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.

Matthew 20:34 (KJV)So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.

4)JESUS WAS PRESENT IN THE MOMENT! ***He WAS where He was!

Mark 6:34 (KJV)And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.

John 2:5–7 (KJV) His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it. And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece. Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.

I have shared 4 of Jesus habits that we would do good to follow and there are many more verses for each one!

Jesus, had fun, relaxed with those closest to Him and LOVED unconditionally!

He was aware of those around Him and just as He did, we can walk in discernment. Discernment and true Christian Love, sees others deep needs and sees them as they can be not as they are!

Each of these habits and more can be cultivate by surrendering each day to the Lordship of Jesus. They do not just happen! You must decide to move from saying you will or want to (resolution), to intentionally doing it.

I like Nike’s motto of “JUST DO IT”!

Let’s begin to think of what it would take to create habits with eternal value and just do it!

I challenge you to get into you Bible and look at Jesus here on earth and the way He lived with eternal values!

Our Creator God wants to help us create Godly habits, not just make resolutions!

Father, lead each of us as we begin to create habits that will have eternal and spiritual value! Open our spiritual eye and ears and stir up the desire to say what you lead us to say and do what you lead us to do! Father, you are the potter and we are the clay! Mold us into usable vessels to be your ambassadors on earth! Lead each of us to live with eternal values! I ask in the wonderful name of Jesus! Amen!
