Psalm 121:1-2 (KJV)
1I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
2 My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.
As I sit here on the balcony of the place we are staying in the mountains for a few days, I am looking at an incredible view of Almighty God’s creation. The mountains tops are going up and down to form tops that are pointing to the heavens.
I think they are praising the Creator God. Just as the trees point upward and the birds fly high, the mountains are proclaiming that the Creator God, the God of the universe is waiting to help us at every juncture of life.
The verse says it all. I will lift up my head: is your head hung low in pain or shame or just exhaustion this morning? Lift up your head to the hills from which cometh your help. Lift up your head to the God who made it all and knows and loves you.
As I look out at the Smoky Mountains I am reminded that the things of life are not as they seem but God knows the real truth. The Smokies indeed look Blue as they are known for. It reminds me of the child who kept wanting to go to the Blue Mountains. However of coarse when they got there they were not Blue.
How many times do we dread what is going to happen, or a situation only to find out when it happens or we encounter the situations, they are not the same as what we thought?
When we allow the God of the all that is and was created to be, in control of our lives we can rest assured that whatever we face, whatever the situation He is our help and strength.
My I tell you this morning that your help comes from the Lord God Almighty and if you will lift up your head He is your help.
Through the work that Jesus Christ did on the cross we have a relationship to the Creator God, Father God, Abba Father!!
Where do you look for for help? I am so full of greatfulness this morning that my life is in Gods hands.
Why should I worry or fret. God knows my name, address, phone number and where I am right now. He knows my desires and dreams and He holds today, tomorrow and next week in His Mighty Hands.
These mountains are a reminder of where my help come from.
Where does your help come from?
