John 8:36 (KJV)
36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
Galatians 5:1 (KJV)
1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
I AM STILL WEARING THE SLING TO KEEP MY ARM IN PLACE. SO ONCE AGAIN I AM TYPING THIS WITH ONE HAND. TOMORROW I GO TO THE DOCTOR AND I AM EXPECTING TO BE FREE FROM THE SLING AND BE ABLE TO MOVE AND USE MY ARM.
I declare to you that this sling and not being able to use that arm and not being able to lay on that side is the most irritating thing I can think of. Everything I do takes a lot more effort than it would if I could use both hands and arms.
Therefore I feel like I am in bondage to this thing. I am looking forward to being able to move freely.
In the same way we are in bondage to the sinful nature we are born with until we receive Jesus Christ as our Savior. Then we are set free from the sinful nature and are given a new nature.
So let’s say that I go to the Doctor tomorrow and he says I can ditch the sling and move my arm freely. But what if I then say: “I am used to this sling so I just want to keep wearing it. It’s not so bad.”
You, along with the Doctor would think I had lost my mind!
May I tell you, that is what many of us do in our Christian walk! We have a Savior who has set us free from the traps of sin! He has provided all we need or desire and yet instead of receiving the good and walking in a new and better way, we want to hold on to the old because it is familiar!
Galatians 4:9 (KJV)
9 But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?
How sad that we who know Jesus as Savior sometimes choose to walk in bondage rather than build a vital relationship with the one who set us free and walk in and enjoy that freedom.
WHAT ARE WE SET FREE FROM? Here are just a few of the bondages from which Christ set us free!
>condemnation
>worry
>fear
>anger
>mistrust
>unforgiveness
>lack of self-worth
>thinking like the world system
>hate
>prejudice
>acting like those who do not know Jesus
Instead He fills us with, faith, love, peace, confidence, forgivness, etc. But we must allow Him Lordship in our lives and then we can walk in divine freedom. We must trust Him with our entire being.
Do we trust the Creator God enough to give Him control? What a fellowship, what a joy divine when we are leaning on His Everlasting Arms!

Father thank you for freedom from the mold of the world system! Thank you that it was for freedom that Jesus lived, died, and rose again. Help me never to return to the bondage the world tries to place on each of us. Bless each person who reads this with the understanding of true freedom! In Jesus name I pray! Amen
My desire is that each of you walk in truth and freedom!
Love, MeMaw
