Me-Maw Thoughts
Number 391
August 28, 2018//
The other day I was sitting at our kitchen table, taking my blood pressure. I was directly in line with the kitchen window that is right above the sink.
The first thing I noticed was that the window needed cleaning. It had little spots in different places on it. I think most were on the outside.
The second thing I noticed was in the place on one of the panes where the sun was shining through, you could not see the dirty spots.
May I compare that today to our spiritual walk! We may have spots of things that are not clean or perfect, mostly on the outside. But if the light of the SON of GOD is showing through, those around us will not see the dirt but they will see Jesus Shining His Light of Love!!
Jesus said:
Matthew 5:14 (KJV)
Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Matthew 5:16 (KJV)
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
We are to have the light of Jesus shining so brightly in our lives that it cannot be hid, it is just flowing through us for all to see.
We are to show that light by the way we live (good works), and that glorifies our Father in heaven.
So many of us let the imperfections and the dirt we have picked up from the world blot out the light of Jesus that will draw all men to Him.
John 12:32 (KJV)
And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.
If we let the goodness and power and love of God shine through the dark places in our lives, people will see the one that can change them, set them free, and shine a light in their lives.
1 Peter 2:9 (KJV)
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
Peter declares that we show by our lives the one who called us out of the darkness of fear, condemnation and criticism into the light of Love: The Love that conquers all!
How then can we let the light of His Love show through us even though we may have dirt or grime on us? Jesus tells us it is by him abiding in us and us abiding in Him.
To abide means to dwell, to settle down, to put down roots if you will.
John 15:4 (KJV)
Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
There is nothing in us that is good outside of releasing our lives to the Lordship of Jesus Christ and the redemption He bought on the cross.
As that relationship to Him Grows through time, the word, and fellowship with other believers, the light begins to shine through us all the way to the outside and is so bright, that world only sees Jesus.
John 12:46 (KJV)
I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.
Abide in the Lord Jesus Christ and His goodness and light will overcome all the dirt and grime. We need to be in the world but not of it!!!

Father, may we realize that there is none good no not one. But you, Father God, and your Son Jesus Christ of Nazareth, found a way to provide a light that stamps out the darkness. May each person reading this abide in that light and that light abide in us and the darkness in the world will begin to dissipate in the glow of that light! Amen
Don’t curse the darkness, light a candle!
