MeMaw Thoughts

I want to share with you my thought on chips, all flavors and kinds of chips.
There are many kinds of potato chips. There are nacho chips, and pringles, etc.
But my observation will apply to any of them. For my comparison purpose, I want to zero in on Potato Chips.
Most of us will keep eating out of a bag of Potato Chips that have gotten to the bottom and to the broken and small pieces.
Meanwhile we have a full bag of brand-new whole chips sitting on the counter. But for some reason we feel we must eat every broken chip and crumb.
Follow me now: Let us compare that to the good things God has in store for us!
He has wholeness and large and good things for our lives and yet we feel we must keep walking on the broken places or the crumbs of life. WHY?? Why do we somehow feel we cannot let of the broken areas of our life, the crumbs of our life, and reach for and open the wholeness God has for us.
Maybe it is a habit that causes us to keep eating the broken chips. Maybe it is wanting to conserve everything and make it last, or maybe it is just something we have always done.
May I say there are things in our life we hold onto that are habits that need to be broken, or we need to understand that God is our supply, or maybe we need to step out of the familiar into the wholeness God has for us!
You know the word of God talks about a familiar spirit and we usually think of that as something along the lines of a séance or something of that nature. But what if, like many things in the Bible it has more than one meaning. What if it also refers to staying in the familiar place and doing the familiar things just because they are familiar!!!
Leviticus 19:31 (KJV)
Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God.
Jesus died so that we can have an abundant life. To me that would means wholeness and not the broken, like in the chips. He desires us to go to the next level with Him, open the new bag of chips if you will and enjoy the best!
God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit all desire that we Thrive and not just survive!
Sometimes the familiar habits and actions feel secure, but we need to examine them to determine if we are settling rather than going for all God has for us!
Getting out of the familiar is not comfortable, but profitable! We cannot go to new height in our lives or our walk with God unless we choose to step out of the familiar and into the new!
John 10:10 (KJV)
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Ephesians 3:20 (KJV)
Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
Notice the last part of Ephesians 3:20: “according to the power that worketh in us”.
Or…according to how much we are able to remove ourselves from the familiar things that are keeping us in a rut and open the full bag of whole chips!!
God is more concerned with our character than our comfort so many times getting out of our comfort zone allows the development of a more Christ like character in us.
Please understand that I am not saying we do not need to ever be comfortable. Jesus said come unto me and I will give you rest. Learn of me He says because His yoke is easy and His burdens light.
What I am saying is that to leave a familiar place that is keeping us from the plan God has for our lives may be unfamiliar and uncomfortable at first but with Jesus abiding with you and the Holy Spirit leading you it will take you to places you otherwise could not go.
He is with you! Let Him lead! Let go of what He says to let go of and when He says to let go and open the new bag of chips!
My desire for you is God’s abundant life invading you with Joy, Peace and a security the world systems cannot give.
Lean on Him, Trust Him and not your own understanding and do not be afraid to ditch the old and broken and embrace the new!!

Father God, in Jesus name I come! I ask you to take this odd comparison of chips to our walk with you and show us how to step out of the familiar into the next level of Glory with you. May each of us examine our desires and dreams that you have placed deep within us and be willing to let go of the things that are hindering that! Renew in us a determination to follow you in all ways, everyday! Touch us with the reality of who you are, Lord God Almighty!! Amen!!
Love you more than you know!! MeMaw
