Me-Maw Thoughts
Number 582
June 7, 2022///
As I try to wrap my mind around all that is happening in our world in this day we are living in, I find my finite mind is not able to understand the things people do and the decisions they make.
In my lifetime of 77 almost 78 years I have seen major changes. Some of them good and some of the bad. But never have I seen the world in the grip of hate as it is now.
As I ponder this, I am drawn to the truth of God’s word concerning me and you!
Psalm 31:15 A (KJV)
15 My times are in thy hand:
Psalm 139:13-14 (KJV)
13 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb.
14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
Jeremiah 29:11 (MSG)
I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.
I want us to think about this! God has our time in His hands! He has a plan for us, and He is able to bring it to pass! God is good and His plan is good for our lives as we let go and allow Him to guide us every day and in every way.
We are wonderfully made in His image, and He is still working on us to bring us into complete agreement with His plan for us!
Bad things happen to good people, and we cannot understand that. But God will take what the enemy means for bad and turn it around for good.
We have a choice to love and serve God in the good times only or serve Him and love Him in the good and bad times. As we pray and release each situation to Him, we must understand that we see through human perception.
God sees the whole picture. We must lean not unto our own understanding but lean on the truth that our times are in His hands, He created us and desires to guide us, lead us and protect us but we must allow Him to.
We must let go of the anger and frustration that circumstances and situations fill us with. Higher prices for everything in our lives, viruses that run rampant and people who have lost their mind.
Do we trust Him? Can we lean on Him? Oh, we so want to fix things, to make them right but the key to peace in the midst of chaos is to let go and let God!
The words to a Hymn that I grew up with is filling my soul this morning!
“TIS SO SWEET TO TRUST IN JESUS,
JUST TO TAKE HIM AT HIS WORD,
JUST TO REST UPON HIS PROMISE,
JUST TO KNOW THUS SAITH THE LORD!”
“JESUS, JESUS, HOW I TRUST HIM,
HOW I’VE PROVED HIM O’ER AND O’ER!
JESUS, JESUS, PRECIOUS JESUS,
O FOR GRACE TO TRUST HIM MORE!”
This day will you join me in singing or saying the above verse and chorus, replacing Him with You! Let us sing it to Jesus telling how sweet it is to trust Him. The first lines would go “Tis so sweet to trust you Jesus, just to take you at your word”! You get the idea!
Let’s make the entire verse and chorus praise to Him. If you do not know the tune, make up your own tune!
I cannot lean on my own understanding! I do not understand the world we live in other than evil is rampant. But I trust the creator God and Jesus Christ my Savior and I can release myself and all those in my family and my life to His Lordship!
I can release myself to be the light that stamps out evil. No, we cannot shine light everywhere, but we can be salt and light where we are and to those we encounter!
My desire is to learn to walk in the truth of the song above, every hour of every day. I desire to trust Him completely and as I think about what complete trust could look like in my life; I ask you to examine your life. Can we fully and truly trust all to Him. May we make that our goal and He will help us!

Lord, I trust you, help my doubt, Lord I believe, help my unbelief! I release my mind, will and emotions to your Lordship and lean not to my understanding but lean on your Love! I bring all my concerns and worries and place them in your able and willing hands! I also ask this for all who read this. In Jesus name I pray! Amen!
Trust! Love, MeMaw!
