ANTS!
Have you ever had a problem with ants?
About a week ago I walked in our kitchen early one morning and behold, there were little ants all over the counters around the sink.
I began to use wet paper towels to wipe them and the water flowing from the faucet to drown them. (I know, it sounds cruel)
After that when I went into the kitchen, I would see a few and get rid of those.
The next morning, I went through the same process and a third morning.
Meanwhile I called our exterminators, and they were sending someone, but it would be this week. Actually, this day. Meanwhile we kept fighting!
We got raid, sprayed and no more on the sink.
But alas, Sunday morning as we were preparing for church they appeared again in a different spot in the kitchen, coming from the top and coming down the wall.
They looked exactly like an army marching to battle!
Ronald sprayed that area with raid, and they did not come there anymore.
This day, the exterminator showed up and I do not think we will have any more problems.
I had told the ants the other morning that I was going to win this battle!
Why on earth am I talking about our ant problem? Because the Holy Spirit taught me some things through this that I want to share with you.
The devil who is the enemy of all that is good, is persistent just like those pesky ants. He does not come, most of the time, with huge temptations! He knows most Christians would not even consider doing some outrageous evil!
He comes with the petty things. He puts little things in our path and then more trivial things and more little things, just like there was multitudes of ants, there will come multitudes of irritations or compromises.
Just imagine if we had not dealt with the ants as they invade, they would have taken over our kitchen and everything in it.
If we do not deal with the little irritations or temptations in our lives, they will soon take over.
There are ways to deal with them.
Just as I did with the ants at first you can do it in your own power. Stand against them and think they are gone. But they return!
Second you can ask the Holy Spirit to help you and he will help just as the Raid stopped the ants. Then they reappear and we ask the Holy Spirit to help us again and he does.
The best and final answer to the irritations and temptations in our live is to turn it all over to the Lord God who made everything. Just as the exterminator has finally finished the job, we must release every problem, irritation, worry, and temptation in our lives to the Lord Jesus and He will handle them.
We cannot defeat even the small things in our life that comes against our walk in the Lord. We must let the Lord of Glory fight for us!
Until the total answer comes keep fighting the good fight of Faith!
Ephesians 6:12 (KJV)
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Deuteronomy 3:22 (KJV)
Ye shall not fear them: for the LORD your God he shall fight for you.
Maybe today you have petty things in your life that you are trying to defeat yourself! May I encourage you to turn every small and large thing over to Jesus who is well able to handle every situation, circumstance, and problem in your life.
May we say to the enemy what I said to the ants, “I will defeat you,” but add onto it “through Jesus Christ”!
I know I took a little leeway with the ant comparison, but you get the picture!
We are victorious because Jesus is victorious! Turn it all over to Him!!!

Father, I come in the name of Jesus! I thank you that you will fight our battles as we release them to your Lordship! We are not able, but you, Lord, are well able to fight every battle, large or small. How foolish we are to think we can do it on our own! My joy bubbles over when I consider that I am cared for and watched over by the creator of the universe! Thank you Lord God Almighty, that no weapon formed against anyone who reads this will prosper. The enemy is defeated, and we are victorious! Oh! What a Savior! Amen!
Let Him fight your battles! Amen!
