Habakkuk 2:3 (KJV)
For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
Let’s look carefully at what this verse is telling us! The vision you have is for an appointed time. The appointed time is of course God’s plan but also your willingness to receive, believe, and step out in Faith and go forward with it!
I want to point to some instances of visions that have tarried for various reasons!
Moses was a Jewish baby who was rescued by Pharoah’s Daughter in Egypt when all the boy Jewish babies were being killed. His mother was called upon and paid to care for him! (Read the entire account in Exodus chapters 1-3)
When Moses had grown up, (being taught by his real mother), he saw how badly the Jews, his people, were treated. They were slaves and the Egyptians treated them awful. Moses felt the burden to help his people.
One day he went to where his people were being used as slaves and saw an Egyptian beating one of the Jews. When Moses thought no one was looking he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand. On another day he saw two of his Jewish brothers arguing and confronted the one in the wrong only to be asked if he was going to kill him as he had killed the Egyptian. Busted!! He was found out!
Moses fled to Midian, married, and had children. The vison of helping his fellow Jews had died. He had taken things in his own hands and messed up totally. It was gone! To late!! Moses was approximately 80 Years old; it was over!
Then he was commissioned from a burning bush to deliver the Jews from Egypt’s bondage!
God brought the Jewish people from Egypt, led by Moses, and headed them toward the promised land!
Do you feel that way about your Vision today? Did you mess up? Did you decide to take things into your own hands? Do not despair! With God it is never too late! Wait for your burning bush encounter that is filled with the fulfillment of your promise. Though it tarry, wait for it, pray and trust in the one who is able! God’s not through with you yet!
As the Jewish nation was being led through the wilderness toward the land flowing with the good things that God had promised, Moses sent out 12 spies to search out the land of Canaan. Joshua and Caleb came back with the report that they were will able to take the land.
But the other 10 spies said there were giants in the land and though it was a good land, they could not take it. The people believed the ten spies and because of their unbelief the people wandered 40 years in the desert!
Joshua and Caleb probably felt that the dream was gone. Caleb had even picked out the mountain he wanted, but all was lost because of others unbelief.
But after 40 years, Joshua was the one who was chosen to lead the children of Israel into the land God had promised to them.
Maybe like Joshua and Caleb your vison or dream has been smashed by the unbelief of those around you! You believe and desire to move forward but those around you are stopping forward progress by their fear of giant problems! God will bring it to pass! Though it tarry, wait for it!
Scripture is filled with incident after incident of those with visons or dreams that had them crushed for a time and for reasons of their own mess ups, God’s timing, or other people’s actions or unbelief. But never forget that God’s calling is never rescinded!
Romans 11:29 (KJV)
For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.
Whatever has stood in the way of your dream and vision, know that when the timing is right and we are ready and obey, it will happen! Don’t let the past failures or delays cause you to give up what you know God placed within you!
Romans 8:25 (KJV)
But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
Between the Old and New testaments were 400 years but: Galatians 4:4 (KJV)
But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
“Though it tarry, wait for it! Never give up, never despair, God’s not through with you yet!”

Father, in Jesus’ name I come! Discouragement is a tool of the enemy of our Soul! May each person who reads this let the visions and dreams they called dead for whatever reason, live! Assure each of us deep in our innermost being that though it tarry, wait for it. In the waiting may we pray and ready ourselves for the doors and opportunities you will bring! May we praise you in the waiting! Amen
Grow in Him in the waiting! Love, Me-Maw
