Me-Maw Thoughts
Number 620

In this world where worry, fear and uncertainty abound I want to share some truth through laughter and thanksgiving.
Proverbs 17:22 (KJV)
A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.
I pray this observation about “People being like Potatoes” will amuse you and fill you with truth!
Some people Never seem motivated to participate but are content to watch others do. They are called “Speck Taters”.
Others never do anything to help but are gifted at finding fault with the way others do things. They are called “Comment Taters”.
Some are always looking to cause problems and really get under your skin. They are called “Aggie Taters”.
There are those who are always saying they will but somehow, they never get around to doing it. We call them “Hezza Taters”.
And some put on a front and act like someone else. They are called “Emma Taters”.
Then there are those who walk what they talk. They are always prepared to stop what they are doing to lend a hand to others and bring real sunshine into the lives of others. You can call them “Sweet Taters”.
WHAT KING OF TATER ARE YOU!
Colossians 3:15 (KJV)
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
Here are some suggestions of things to Thank God for that we might not normally think as praise material.
I AM THANKFUL:
For the wife who says it’s hot dogs tonight because she is not out with someone else!
For the husband who is on the sofa being a couch potato because he is home with me and not out at the bars!
For the teenager who is complaining about doing the dishes because that means she is at home and not on the streets!
For the taxes that I pay because that means I am employed.
For the clothes that fit a little too snug because it means I have enough to eat!
For a lawn that needs mowing, windows that need cleaning, and gutters that need fixing because it means I have a home!
For the parking spot I find at the far end of the parking lot because it means I am capable of walking and have been blessed with transportation!
For my huge heating bill because it means I am warm!
For the lady behind me in church that sings off key because that means I can hear!
For the pile of laundry to be washed because it means I have clothes to wear!
For weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day because it means I have been capable of working hard!
For the alarm that goes off in the early morning hours because it means that I am alive!
Wow, how many of us have been guilty of complaining about these things rather than being thankful for them. Thanksgiving brings peace instead of frustration and allows God to work on molding another person into His image, and bringing His will into situations!
Thanksgiving and Praise are weapons, may we use them in every situation!
Think about it!
What should you be thanking God for!
And did you hear about the little six-year-old praying the Lord’s Prayer and saying,
“Forgive us our trash baskets as we forgive those who put trash in our baskets!”
Ok, think about that truth from a child!
—————————————
Father, in Jesus’ name I come! Thank you for your joy and laughter! Thank you for bringing to our mind all the many things we should be thankful for! May we find laughter in the ordinary happenings of the day and be thankful every second of every minute we live! Forgive us when we whine and remind us deep inside how very blessed we are! Amen!
Laugh and be Thankful!
Love, MeMaw!
