August 1, 2023///
On this first Tuesday in August, I am reprinting MeMaw Thoughts from the first Tuesday in August 2012. Replace great grandchild with great grandchildren and it is all the same today as it was then! I pray it touches you today!
Me-Maw Thoughts//Number 82
August 7, 2012
My mind this morning is bogged down with the fact that there does not seem to be enough time to pray about everything and everyone that I feel like I need to pray for.
The start of my day consists of praying and reading the Bible. As I
try to balance my morning communion with the Creator God, I find
that I am talking much more than listening. It seems there are
troubled people all around who need someone to stand in the
gap and pray for them.
Of course, I must pray for our children, their spouses, and my grandchildren,
their spouses and my great grandchild. Then I must pray for our church
and our leaders and ministries. Then I must pray for my extended family
and our country and leaders.
I must ask God to take the impurities out of me that I can serve Him
with clean hands and a pure heart. I must commit all that I am not
to all that He is.
Whew!!!!! It kind of makes me tired just typing it. Then I need to
take the time to absorb His Word and allow Him to impress His
guidance and will deep on the inside of me. Then I have a
schedule to keep.
As frustrating as this may seem, no matter the length of time I can spend
in the morning or the people or things that I feel got the short end of my
praying, because we serve the living and powerful God Almighty, I do
not have to stop praying because I have to continue on with my day.
I can communicate with my Heavenly Father in the shower, driving
my car, sitting in the bank drive through or in the dentist office. I can
even communicate with the Father when I am getting my teeth
cleaned or buying groceries.
I am so eternally grateful that I serve the True and Living God who
is with us always through His Spirit that dwells deep inside us when
we accept what Jesus did on the Cross.
The Apostle Paul talks about it as a True and Living way. As I read
about the different religions of the world, I am so grateful that
I know my redeemer lives, because He lives within me.
There is an old gospel song that says, ‘The world didn’t give it to
me and the world can’t take it away.” I am so grateful that I
don’t have to worry about keeping a set of rules and regulations
but am free to just let Jesus live through me.
As we try to balance out our days, let us not forget that prayer
and the Word is our lifeline. If you must listen to the word
read from a CD while carrying out your task, do so. It is extremely
important that you get the word deep in your spirit. It is
life, it is refreshing, it is strength to your soul, body, and spirit.
Pray the scriptures. Pray the 23rd Psalm putting your name in
the verses……”The Lord is Patsy’s shepherd, Patsy shall not
want, etc..” No matter how you get the word in you it is
vitally important that you absorb into your Spirit the very
Words of the one who Loves you without measure.
Don’t let the enemy bombard you with the time you do not have to spend specifically in the Word and Prayer, but ask Him to give you unique ways to have that fellowship with Him.

Father, forgive me when I spend time regretting the things I cannot do or something I have done instead of redeeming the time I do have. Let me use every minute to honor and glorify you no matter what I am doing at the time. Bless all my friends who read this and even though this has been somewhat rambling, let them get the truth that You are with us, and we are able to do all that you have created us to do. Thank you for the privilege of praying and the TRUTH of your WORD. In Jesus name
I pray. Amen
That’s what I’m thinking today!!!
Love, Me-Maw
MAKE THE TIME FOR THE WORD AND PRAYER TODAY!
