Me-Maw Thoughts
Number 647
September 5, 2023///
I Just read this quote from Bill Johnson.
“The strength of my heart comes from my complete abandonment to the purposes of God!”
Solomon, a King of Israel, whom God gave great wisdom to, wrote in Proverbs:
Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV)
5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Why is it so difficult to Trust the one who created everything and is in control?
Why do we think we can live life and figure things out better than the one knew us before we were ever conceived?
If we lean on something it is to hold us up. When we lean on the Lord God Almighty, He holds us and fights our battles!
As I was going up the platform steps this past Sunday to sing a song, I had to lean on another to give me a hand to get up and down.
If I had a rail or something else to hold onto, I would have been ok leaning on that!
A couple of years ago after a long hospital stay with covid, my husband Ronald, came home weak. He needed help to get into the house and a walker to get around!
In our Spiritual walk we have all been so weak at times we had to lean on Jesus, coming to Him with tears and a brokenness. He hugs us and loves us and leads and guides us.
Then as we regained our strength and began to walk in the reality of who we are, we began to start leaning on our own understanding of the truth of the word!
We somehow believe we are strong enough now and we can lean on our own understanding of everyday life!
What a lie from the enemy!! We are bombarded on every side with this world’s wisdom which is no wisdom at all. We begin to see things that may look good as coming from God when it is a trick of the devil, to pull us into a path far different from the one we are created to live.
Every moment of every day we need the wisdom and understanding of the truth from the Lord God Almighty and we must acknowledge that we need Him!
We must not lean on our own understanding, whether we feel weak or strong, whether all is sunshine, or we are in the worst storm of our life!
May I tell you that no matter how strong you may think you are, without leaning on the Lord God and knowing and trusting him to help you and guide you, you are no match for the devil!
In a football game there will be times when the offense makes a surprise play. The offence is always looking for a way to get through the defense!
In our spiritual walk it is the same way. The devil who hates you is always probing for a way through your amour or defense.
We are no match for that, but when we lean on the Lord God Almighty, trust in Him and acknowledge Him in all our ways, we become a force that the enemy cannot conquer!
As we do that, we know who we are in Him and who He is in us, and we walk in Faith and Victory knowing we have the creator of the universe watching out for us and fighting our battles.
Deuteronomy 31:6 (KJV)
Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
The word says in another place that when I am weak, He is strong.
Today I want to declare that when we think we are strong, we are weak!
I encourage you to Trust in the Lord as you go through each day. Commit your way to Him, lean on Him and listen deep inside and He will lead you in every way!

Father, in the name of Jesus’ Christ of Nazareth I come with a grateful heart full of praise and adoration! Thank you for the authority and dominion that name gives me as I lean on you and acknowledge you in all my ways. Thank you that as I trust in you and not my own understanding you intervene and defeat discouragement, disappointment, and wrong directions. I praise you Father God that you Love us and desire to Bless us with Peace, Joy, and Power deep in our spirits. Angels are watching over us and I praise you for that. Amen
Trust in Him!
Love, MeMaw!
