Me-Maw Thoughts

October 22, 2024///
For the next couple of weeks or more the entire country we call the United States will continue to be caught up in the election that has been so heated.
I can remember when politics was about issues and the different political parties could disagree without being ugly and hateful about it.
Every person running for the different offices of this great nation and the States has something in their past they would change if they could.
But what I see is word abuse of the other party. Hate is rampant toward those who do not agree with the policies of the party you are for!
Yes! I have personal deep-seated beliefs about the life of the unborn and the economy and the way entrance to our great nation is handled but for those who are of different opinions I still have love for them as a human being that God created and placed on this earth.
I pray that they will see truth as the Bible states it and that there will be a revival of the basics this country was founded on but that does not make them my enemy!
When did we get so set in our ways as individuals that our way is the right way and if you do not agree you are my enemy, and I hate you and put you down and talk evil about you!
Don’t you think that the Lord God of the Universe weeps when He sees those precious creations of His, so caught up in hate and hurt against one another.
And I believe He is even more saddened when some of those participating in hate and hurt claim to be Christians!
May I remind you what the word tells us Jesus said was the two greatest commandments? Look at the scripture below!
Matthew 22:37–39 (KJV)
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Jesus goes on to explain who our neighbor is. IT IS ALL THE PEOPLE WE ENCOUNTER!
We are all God’s creation. Whether we are right or wrong in our beliefs and actions, God loves us. His love doesn’t change with our opinions!
We wonder why our teens are trying to settle their differences with guns. Look at what they see. The adults around them are coming against each other with hate and hurtful words. They see the motto “Agree with me or you are evil and must be destroyed,” acted out!
They then decided to destroy who they perceive as their enemies with weapons that should be used for protection!
We need to change our attitudes toward each other!
Let me remind you of one more thing the Bible says on this subject!
1 John 4:20 (KJV)
20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?
It is time the Christians began to walk in Love one for another. I am convinced if just those who claim to be Christians began to walk in Love for one another, the light of that would dispel evil and hate all around us!
Quit complaining and speaking evil against others and begin to Love those you perceive as your enemy and pray for them.
What a change in our culture we would see!
I know this may be heavy, but I am so tired of fighting and the mean spirits, and I just throw out the challenge to love one another, even those who disagree with you!

Father, forgive each of us when we have less than love and compassion for each other. You are God and we are not, and we are all your creations. Help us to see past opinions and conflict and just walk in the Love you give us, toward even those who are on opposite sides of politics or any other areas of life! Fill us with great love toward those who speak against us and let us be the light that dispels darkness. I ask this in the mighty name of Jesus! Amen!
Love God and each other! MeMaw!
