“SATISFACTION!”

Me-Maw Thoughts

Number 728

March 25, 2025///

Have you noticed that when we get something we want, we want more of it? We may lose the five pounds we were trying to lose and now we want to lose 10 more. We may have enough money and more to pay our bills, but we want more money!

We may want better and better health or more children, or a different job or career. We may desire to be the boss instead of following the boss’s instruction.

Have you desired a certain food and then wanted more and more of it? What about something new in our house or something new to wear, or a more exciting vacation?

Some of these wants are good or at least ok, but satisfaction seems to be in the next step in our wants!

Consider with me, your wants! And then narrow that down to your needs. What do you actually need in your life! What do you need, not what do you want!

I want to share some thoughts I had this morning on “NEEDS, DESIRES, AND SATISFACTION”!

We are to speak our needs to our heavenly Father in prayer as we thank Him that He will supply each need we have.

Philippians 4:19 (KJV)

But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

We may not see any way, but if we Trust that promise from the word, our needs will be supplied.

What do you need today? Is it physical, financial, relational? Maybe it is a hurting child to be comforted, or direction for the next step in handling a problem.

Ask and don’t give up and the supply will be given!

But God’s promises do not stop there. We must take hold of the promises in His word and claim them as our own. God, who can do all things has promised more than just our needs!

Mark 11:24 (KJV)

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

God has promised when we pray and believe He will give us what we desire.

Does that mean that we can ask for a mansion and get it or a million dollars and get it? Read on, I am getting to that.

What about satisfaction? Do you know those who are never satisfied? Maybe that is you. Do you overlook all the good things your child has done and focus on the one thing they did wrong? Do you overlook the Blessings the Father has bestowed on you and focus on the one thing that is hard in your life.

The word tells us to be content!

Philippians 4:11 (KJV)

Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.

Psalm 145:16 (KJV)

Thou openest thine hand,

And satisfiest the desire of every living thing.

Now let us pull all this together. The promise is God will supply our needs, our wants, and our desires and satisfies us.

Does that mean that we can just ask for anything and it will be honored. Let’s look at the verse that gives us the key.

MATTHEW 6:33 (KJV)

BUT SEEK YE FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD, AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS; AND ALL THESE THINGS SHALL BE ADDED UNTO YOU.

When we seek Him first everything else will take second place and we will not be asking for things out of his will. Remember it is His will to heal, to bless, to supply and satisfy, but it comes when we are content in our relationship with Him and live our lives with an eternal mindset.

When we seek Him first, we find He is enough. But He delights in giving us abundance in every area of our lives!

I encourage you to examine your desires in light of eternity!

Father, I come with a grateful heart that your love flows freely to us. Help us to seek a closer relationship with you and we will find satisfaction for our souls and satisfaction in your supply of our needs and desires. Let us walk different from the world system who says get all you can. Our motto should be to be content in Jesus! Amen!
