“THE CAT”!

Me-Maw Thoughts

Number 779

March 17, 2026///

Sunday night at about nine-thirty, a flash of something went on one side of our TV. Ronald had gone to bed, and I had thought that my eyes had done something weird. But as quickly as I thought that the flash went more slowly the other way, and I saw it was a grown orange cat.

You must understand that we do not have a cat, neither indoors nor out! I jumped up and woke Ronald up and we began looking for this cat that had somehow got in the house when the door was opened.

Finally, we found the cat, but when we tried opening the front door and making the cat move it ran the other direction away from the door. This type of searching and it running went on for about 2 hours and I will not go into all the details of our efforts, including food, to entice the cat to go through the front or back door.

We were ready to give up and go to bed when one more effort was made. I will say that for the second time it landed in our kitchen window. The frustration was just so overwhelming because we were lost about what to do!

At last, we showed that we were smarter than the cat we kept having to find and were able to direct it to the door!

As I thought about this it reminded me of the things of the enemy that invade our lives. We try to get the upper hand over these frustrations whether they are job, financial, physical, family, relationships or just plain too much to do, but the problem evades all we try.

Yes, we figured out how to get the cat out of the house and that may seem like us, but I can tell you I kept praying for wisdom. But when I decide to give up, we figured it out: God gave the wisdom!

The truth I want to share is you cannot solve the problems or get rid of the enemy’s attacks in your own efforts or wisdom. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, desires us to cast all our cares on Him. He not only cares but has the answer and the power. When we do what we can and leave the rest in His hands, we see things begin to change.

1 Peter 5:7 (KJV)Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Just as for us Sunday night, it may seem like you keep fighting and the problem stays the same, but when you just do what you can, and put the rest in His hands, you show you trust His word that says He will work all things for our good and His glory.

Romans 8:28 (KJV) And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

So, we keep doing what we know to do and trust the Lord Jesus to do what we cannot! What a powerful freeing thing it is to be secure in knowing He is able and He is willing!

Matthew 11:28 (KJV)Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

If we just understand that our Heavenly Father loves us and sees us and will fight our battles as we release all to Him, our daily lives will hold more joy and peace than frustrations and agitations!

I invite you to join me in saying to the Father: “I SURRENDER ALL”!

——————————————————————

Father, I come in the name of Jesus and thank you for your love and care. Forgive each of us for how much of our lives are spent out of peace and joy because we try to do it all ourselves. Lord, I surrender everything in my life to you. Guide me and fill me with wisdom from above. Help each one who reads this to snuggle up to you and let you wrap your warm blanket of love all around us. Lord, we trust you! Amen!

Love, MeMaw!
