‘TRUST!”

I Just read this quote from Bill Johnson.

“The strength of my heart comes from my complete abandonment to the purposes of God!”

Solomon, a King of Israel, whom God gave great wisdom to, wrote in Proverbs:

Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV)
5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Why is it so difficult to Trust the one who created everything and is in control?

Why do we think we can live life and figure things out better than the one knew us before we were ever conceived?

If we lean on something it is to hold us up. When we lean on the Lord God Almighty, He holds us and fights our battles!

As I was going up the platform steps this past Sunday to sing a song, I had to lean on another to give me a hand to get up and down.

If I had a rail or something else to hold onto, I would have been ok leaning on that!

A couple of years ago after a long hospital stay with covid, my husband Ronald, came home weak. He needed help to get into the house and a walker to get around!

In our Spiritual walk we have all been so weak at times we had to lean on Jesus, coming to Him with tears and a brokenness. He hugs us and loves us and leads and guides us.

Then as we regained our strength and began to walk in the reality of who we are, we began to start leaning on our own understanding of the truth of the word!

We somehow believe we are strong enough now and we can lean on our own understanding of everyday life!

What a lie from the enemy!! We are bombarded on every side with this world’s wisdom which is no wisdom at all. We begin to see things that may look good as coming from God when it is a trick of the devil, to pull us into a path far different from the one we are created to live.

Every moment of every day we need the wisdom and understanding of the truth from the Lord God Almighty and we must acknowledge that we need Him!

We must not lean on our own understanding, whether we feel weak or strong, whether all is sunshine, or we are in the worst storm of our life!

May I tell you that no matter how strong you may think you are, without leaning on the Lord God and knowing and trusting him to help you and guide you, you are no match for the devil!

In a football game there will be times when the offense makes a surprise play. The offence is always looking for a way to get through the defense!

In our spiritual walk it is the same way. The devil who hates you is always probing for a way through your amour or defense.

We are no match for that, but when we lean on the Lord God Almighty, trust in Him and acknowledge Him in all our ways, we become a force that the enemy cannot conquer!

As we do that, we know who we are in Him and who He is in us, and we walk in Faith and Victory knowing we have the creator of the universe watching out for us and fighting our battles.

Deuteronomy 31:6 (KJV)
Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

The word says in another place that when I am weak, He is strong.

Today I want to declare that when we think we are strong, we are weak!

I encourage you to Trust in the Lord as you go through each day. Commit your way to Him, lean on Him and listen deep inside and He will lead you in every way!

I praise you Father God that you Love us and desire to Bless us with Peace, Joy, and Power deep in our spirits. Angels are watching over us and I praise you for that.  Amen

Trust in Him!

“Into all our lives, in many simple, familiar, homely ways, God infuses this element of joy from the surprises of life, which unexpectedly brighten our days and fill our eyes with light.”

― Samuel Longfellow

From someone who has been gone from this life for many years, these words have an eternal truth.

As a mom or dad, grandmother, granddad, aunt, uncle, friend, caregiver, and others, do you remember those times when a little one brought you wild growing flowers(weeds), from the yard or playground, etc.

Just the expression of love accompanied by a “These are for you”, and/or a hug! But oh, the joy it brought to our day. The eyes of the little one bright with joy that they could bring you a gift!

Maybe it was a picture they drew or colored, or just a hug around the knees! However small, it was an amazing surprise that brightened our day.

Perhaps a call from a friend or a letter from one far away serving our country!

What of the surprise of an expression of how much you had meant to someone in their lives.

Think of the beauty of a rising sun or the colors of it setting at the end of the day. A rainbow that suddenly appears in the sky, or a flower peeking up from the earth as the first sign of spring.

What about the preciousness shown as we see, in a public place an elderly couple holding hands as they walk. It touches our heart with goodness.

The joy of children singing, dancing, unconcerned about life or food or clothes.

The laughter a funny happening or joke brings to our being.

The taste of good food that brings pleasure and the awesome breezes of spring or fall!

Little things just drop into our busy or boring, tiring, or mundane lives to give us a moment of immense pleasure as we stop and savor the moment.

Do we realize each of these are nudges from the Lord God Almighty that you are loved and valuable, wherever you are and whatever you are doing!

We look for the big times of ministry, times of vacation or celebrations, or some other marked time, to see God at work!

But may I tell you He is in the little things we do and encounter each day.

We know He gives us breath and life, but He also shows us in the little things, how much He loves us!

On the other hand, He gets great pleasure when we just say THANK YOU, or I LOVE YOU LORD, or acknowledge Him in the multitude of ways we can.

Just as in the child who brings what they think is great to us in love, when we bring whatever praise we have, big or small, it warms and moves the heart of the Father!

Yes, He created the heavens and earth and all that is in it, but He breathed His breath into humans, and He desire we give Him any praise and honor we can.

Do you feel like you have nothing worthwhile to bring to the Creator God? Understand that it is not little or big he desires but it is your love that makes His heart glad.

Colossians 1:16 (KJV)
For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

I encourage you on this day to look for joy and His love in the little things. In the little surprises and in the people, you happen to see today!

Let the Lord God Almighty love you and cuddle you as you walk with praise through you day!

______________________________

Father, how amazing your love is! We see it all around us as we open our eyes and relax and go through each day with praise and adoration for you and all you are in us and through us. Little things, Father, little things mean a lot! May we express our Love for you and each other, in little and big actions! Help us to live each day with eyes aware of the little blessing you drop into our lives as well as the enormous blessing you give us continually. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen!

“SPIRITUAL EYES!”

Me-Maw Thoughts

August 22, 2023///

When we invited Jesus into our lives and fellowship with Him and let Him break bread with us our eyes are opened to understand the Word and who Jesus really is.

I want to call your attention to some truths in one of the events Luke writes about after the resurrection of Jesus.

The women had found the tomb empty. Peter and John had checked and found the same thing. The angels had told the women that He was risen but when the disciples were told and even after Peter and John had seen the empty tomb, they were full of doubt.

Luke 24:13-16 (KJV)
13 And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs.
14 And they talked together of all these things which had happened.
15 And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them.
16 But their eyes were holden that they should not know him.

Or their eyes were full of other things, and they did not recognize Him? Or maybe God was trying to see how kind they would treat a stranger?

How many times do we fail to see Jesus in our lives. In the eyes of a baby, in the laughter of a toddler, or in the smile of a teenager or in the Love and wisdom of the elderly!

Do we miss seeing Jesus in the hurting person or the homeless man or women or in the store clerk who helps us find what we need?

After Jesus asked them what the were talking about as they walked, CLEOPAS shared with Him concerning the crucifixion and the disappearance of the body of Jesus and that the angel had said He was risen. He also shared that they had trusted He was the messiah Israel was looking.

Notice he said had trusted. They had lost their Trust.

Luke 24:25-27 (KJV)
25 Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:
26 Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?
27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the
scriptures the things concerning himself.

They were listening to the scriptures, later they realized their heart had burned within them as they heard the truth of the Word, but they still had no idea it was the risen Christ who was teaching them.

We can know the word, but do we know who Jesus is and have we let Him break bread with us?

Luke 24:28-31 (KJV)

28 And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further.
29 But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them.
30 And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them.
31 And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.

When they approached the village, Jesus acted like He was going further! Did they want Him to stay?

When they asked Him to stay or abide, He did. When we ask Jesus to stay or abide with us and in us, this is what He desires.

At the meal, Jesus took the bread and blessed it, and brake it, and they realized who He was.

May I tell you when we give our lives totally to Jesus and commune with Him, as He communes with us and takes and breaks the bread of life, the truth of what He bought for us, our eyes have the scales fall off and we see Him for who He is!

At that point the Holy Spirit had not come to dwell in believers, so the resurrected Jesus went from them leaving them to tell of their face-to-face encounter.

We can see and experience Jesus 24/7 now as believers in all He has done for us!

May we not just know the Word but know the Jesus of the word and let Him teach us and lead us and guide us!

Father, in Jesus’ name I come. Thank you that we can fellowship with you, the son, and the Holy Spirit, and have a relationship with you that far surpasses any other relationship in this world. Draw each one who reads this to a vibrant relationship to you and to let you control their life! Amen!

In this world we are living in we need more than ever to have daily encouragement in the Lord Jesus!

I want to write some encouraging words to you this morning as I just share what I desire for you!

I just read a quote that says:

“BOLD FAITH STANDS ON THE SHOULDERS OF QUIET TRUST”!

Walking step after step, day after day, with a quiet trust in who Jesus is and who we are in Him! This demonstrates our Faith that He that is in us, is greater than He that is in the world!

I decree and declare in the name of Jesus that you understand this day who you are in Him!

I desire the following for you today and decree and declare in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth that it is true for and in you!

You have peace not turmoil, joy not sadness, sunshine of Blessings and trust in the midst of pain!

You are the head and not the tail, you are above and not beneath, and you are walking in the power of the Holy Spirit and overcome all the plans of the enemy!

You are free from worry and fear and bound to great Faith!

You are affecting those around you as you walk in the bold faith of quiet trust! You are sharing the good news of Jesus as He prompts you and this is effective because you are demonstrating your faith in Christ by your walk of trust!

You have laughter and Joy this day and you are filled with wisdom and understanding and guidance for ever decision you make!

I desire for you a heart sold out to the creator God and to Jesus Christ who restored our relationship with the Father on the Cross and gave victory over death through His resurrection!

I desire for you an abundance in wealth, health, and success, but most of all I desire you to keep the main thing, the main thing. The main thing is Jesus first!

You are leading your family in the ways of the Lord Jesus.

You are filled with kindness and compassion toward others and reach out and touch others for the Lord Jesus!

Your home is a place of peace and shelter from the storms of life and your children respect and call you blessed!

Favor is all over you and surrounding you and through you and you are finding divine favor with all you meet and wherever you go.

You have a smile instead of a frown and you go forth into your day with the mind of Christ Jesus!

Your mind, will, and emotions are lined up with the word of the living God. The word is truth, and the truth sets us free!

I desire that you never have a problem but since we live in a fallen world I decree and declare that Jesus holds your hand and leads you through every difficulty and discouraging time, giving you peace in the middle of the storm, and working all things for your good!

I desire that you truly understand His Love for you and that He will cause all things to work for your good and His Glory!

I decree and desire for you that you are able to release to the Lordship of Jesus Christ yourself, every member of your family, and every hurt and offense and every situation in your life!

I desire Colossians 1:9-11 for you:

Colossians 1:9-11 (KJV)
9 For this cause we also, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
11 Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;

I desire that you go from good things to great things, from just enough to abundance and from fear to great faith.

You go forward this day walking in Faith and Victory and shining the light of Jesus in a dark world!

You are fulfilling your purpose here on earth. You are powerful and treading down the enemy and defeating hells plans every moment of every day, and you walk boldly in the pure Love of Jesus!

Declare these things for yourself!

I want to share with you the story of the way “Metro World Child” started. It was founded by BILL WILSON in 1980 to reach the inner-city children of New York. It has spread from that to other cities and countries, now reaching about 250,000 kids a week in 13 countries.

I want you to understand what a difference one Christian operating in the Love of Jesus, can make in our world!

“Abandoned on a street corner by his mother at the age of 12, young Bill sat and waited for her on that corner; he waited 3 days, but she never came back for him.  A Christian man who was on his way to see his son in the hospital stopped and asked him if he was ok.  Anybody could have stopped, but thankfully it was a Christian man who did.

After getting him some food, this man then paid for Bill to attend a Sunday School camp.  Never having heard the message of the Gospel before, that summer camp is where Bill first heard about Jesus.  Nobody would pray for him at the altar because of how badly he looked and smelled, so all alone he attempted his own prayer to God saying, “My mother doesn’t want me; the Christians don’t want me, but if you want me, here I am.”  That was the start of his own personal relationship with Jesus and his incredible walk with God.”

This beginning of an incredible life story, of one whose faithfulness has changed lives that would otherwise be lost to gangs and rebellions and murders and prisons, never fails to move me to tears.

Dave Rudenis, a local mechanic and committed Christian, found him there and took him to his home.”

AS I write this, the tears are falling as I realize, one person, committed to God, working in their job, and going about their daily task, took time out for the one!

Would, or do we?

I weep when I think of the ones out there who are longing for someone to care!

Maybe they are ready to join a gang because they want to feel they belong and matter!

Maybe they are medicating with drugs or alcohol because it numbs the pain!

Maybe they have to run and hide from an abusive parent or have a stomach that growls with hunger.

Or maybe they live in a fancy neighborhood with a room of their own and all the wonders money can buy, but they have a void inside that nothing seems to help and so they reach out to the gangs or groups who will offer them the numbness of drugs.

But maybe they are in our neighborhood, or our church or our children’s schools and they are abandoned in their mind and spirit and are looking for answers.

They may be young or old, trying to find joy in success, others, things, or rebellion, but all need the same thing!

THEY NEED THOSE WHO REALLY KNOW JESUS TO STOP FOR THE ONE. TO GO OUT OF OUR WAY TO REALLY LISTEN OR INTERVENE OR HELP.

JESUS SAID:

Matthew 25:40 (KJV)
And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

We see all through Jesus’ time on earth how He always had time for the one!

Matthew 25:40 is not limited to children, although that is who tears have been for this morning; it concerns those who are needed in all things. Spirit, soul, and body.

Will we stop for the one!

_____________________________________

Father, I come in Jesus’s name and thank you that you had time to stop for me, to redeem me and set me free from and free to be all you have planned for me. I ask you to forgive me and each one who reads this when we get to set in our agenda to stop for the one or even to listen to your still small voice that tells us to stop or what to do to help. Forgive us when we do not want to leave our comfort zone. Lord help us show the children within our reach the real Jesus who cares and stops for the one! Let us be your hand extended to the least of these. Amen!

“TIME!”

Me-Maw Thoughts

August 1, 2023///

On this first Tuesday in August, I am reprinting MeMaw Thoughts from the first Tuesday in August 2012. Replace great grandchild with great grandchildren and it is all the same today as it was then! I pray it touches you today!

Me-Maw Thoughts//Number 82

August 7, 2012

My mind this morning is bogged down with the fact that there does not seem to be enough time to pray about everything and everyone that I feel like I need to pray for.

The start of my day consists of praying and reading the Bible.  As I

try to balance my morning communion with the Creator God, I find

that I am talking much more than listening. It seems there are

troubled people all around who need someone to stand in the

gap and pray for them.

Of course, I must pray for our children, their spouses, and my grandchildren,

their spouses and my great grandchild. Then I must pray for our church

and our leaders and ministries. Then I must pray for my extended family

and our country and leaders.

I must ask God to take the impurities out of me that I can serve Him

with clean hands and a pure heart. I must commit all that I am not

to all that He is.

Whew!!!!! It kind of makes me tired just typing it. Then I need to

take the time to absorb His Word and allow Him to impress His

guidance and will deep on the inside of me. Then I have a

schedule to keep.

As frustrating as this may seem, no matter the length of time I can spend

in the morning or the people or things that I feel got the short end of my

praying, because we serve the living and powerful God Almighty, I do

not have to stop praying because I have to continue on with my day.

I can communicate with my Heavenly Father in the shower, driving

my car, sitting in the bank drive through or in the dentist office. I can

even communicate with the Father when I am getting my teeth

cleaned or buying groceries.

I am so eternally grateful that I serve the True and Living God who

is with us always through His Spirit that dwells deep inside us when

we accept what Jesus did on the Cross.

The Apostle Paul talks about it as a True and Living way. As I read

about the different religions of the world, I am so grateful that

I know my redeemer lives, because He lives within me.

There is an old gospel song that says, ‘The world didn’t give it to

me and the world can’t take it away.” I am so grateful that I

don’t have to worry about keeping a set of rules and regulations

but am free to just let Jesus live through me.

As we try to balance out our days, let us not forget that prayer

and the Word is our lifeline. If you must listen to the word

read from a CD while carrying out your task, do so. It is extremely

important that you get the word deep in your spirit. It is

life, it is refreshing, it is strength to your soul, body, and spirit.

Pray the scriptures. Pray the 23rd Psalm putting your name in

the verses……”The Lord is Patsy’s shepherd, Patsy shall not

want, etc..”   No matter how you get the word in you it is

vitally important that you absorb into your Spirit the very

Words of the one who Loves you without measure.

Don’t let the enemy bombard you with the time you do not have to spend specifically in the Word and Prayer, but ask Him to give you unique ways to have that fellowship with Him.

____________________________________________

Father, forgive me when I spend time regretting the things I cannot do or something I have done instead of redeeming the time I do have. Let me use every minute to honor and glorify you no matter what I am doing at the time. Bless all my friends who read this and even though this has been somewhat rambling, let them get the truth that You are with us, and we are able to do all that you have created us to do. Thank you for the privilege of praying and the TRUTH of your WORD. In Jesus name

I pray. Amen

That’s what I’m thinking today!!!

Love, Me-Maw

MAKE THE TIME FOR THE WORD AND PRAYER TODAY!

LOVE, ME-MAW

“LIFT UP EACH OTHER!”

Me-Maw Thoughts

Number 641

July 25, 2023///

I know each of you have heard the expression, “Every man for himself,” in TV, movies, or games.

May I tell you that in the spiritual realm, every person is not for themselves, but we are a body and together we make a whole!

We are to help each other; we are better together!

Not only that, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are with us, in us, and fighting for us! We are never just fighting for ourselves!

When the angels are guarding, fighting, and ministering to us we are a majority no matter the outward situation.

As a body of believers, we are to Love one another and lift up each other when the going gets rough!

Galatians 6:2 (KJV)
Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ
.

In the Old Testament we find Moses needing help during a battle with the enemy!

Exodus 17:10-12 (KJV)
10 So Joshua did as Moses had said to him, and fought with Amalek: and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill.
11 And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.
12 But Moses’ hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.

Whose hands are we holding up? Who are we encouraging!

1 John 3:16 (KJV)
Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

We need to come along side and help people over the rough spots and sometimes we need others to come along side and help us over the rough spots.

Many times, that is a hug or a smile. Sometimes it is praying fervently for the answer but a lot of the time it is listening with an ear tuned to the spirit to hear behind the words and hear what the spirit is saying to us!

It is easy sometimes for people to pretend everything is ok, but deep down they are fighting a battle unseen or unshared until someone takes the time to let the spirit speak to them about the need!

Many times, it is very evident there is a major need or battle going on in someone’s life.

Either way we need to come along side and help!

I want to urge you to read the words to an old song. I was going to share some lines of it but when I was reading the lines, I knew all of it needed to be shared! Be blessed!

“I Woke Up This Morning with Heaven on My Mind, Glory Down in My Soul.
The Joy of Heaven Is Still in Me, Making Hallelujahs Roll.
Well, I Feel Like I Could Just Run and Run for Miles on Down the Road.
And If You’ll Move Over Just a Little Bit, I’ll Help Your Carry Your Load.

CHORUS:  If You’ll Move Over Just a Little Bit, Let Me Give You a Helping Hand,
Though the Way Looks Rough and Hard, Together We Can Stand.
I Know Just What You’ve Been Going Through, I’ve Been Down That Same Old Road,
And If You’ll Move Over Just A Little Bit, I’ll Help You Carry Your Load.

Well, I Know Old Satan’s Been Talking to You, He’s Telling You a Lie.
He’ll Tell You That You Can’t Go on And There’s No Use to Try;
But When We Get Up on The Hill, You’ll Be So Glad We’ve Tried
And, Praise The Lord, We’ll Shout Together Going Down The Other Side.

When Evening Shadows Fall, Upon the Lord I Call.
Just to Thank Him for The Blessings He Gives Each Day.
And Then I Know I’m Just One Step Nearer,
To That City John Saw Coming Down.
I’m Almost Home So Lord Don’t Let Me Fail.”

Together we can stand! May we help someone carry their load today!

__________________

Father, what a wonder you are! I come to you in Jesus’ name and thank you for the people in my life that have lifted me up and helped me carry my load! Help myself and all who read this to be aware of those around us and listen and let the spirit reveal the deep needs. Then we can be your hand extended and lift those needs to you! Amen!

I will help you carry your load!

“WEAKEST LINK!”

Me-Maw Thoughts

Number 640

July 18, 2023///

A while back there was a TV show called “The Weakest Link”. It was also then made into a board game.

Through a series of questions and votes the contestants and players would vote on the person they believed was the weakest link and that person was eliminated from the competition or the game.

Yesterday that phrase came to me, and I began to think of the weakest link in myself, or the weakest part of me physically, mentally but especially Spiritually!

Each of us have places in our bodies that we are weaker in and each of us have memory or mental places that are weaker, and may I say each of us have those places where we are weaker in the Spiritual realm.

What are the weakest links in our walk with God?

May I tell you that the devil will probe and probe until that weak place is found and then he will attack that place.

1 Peter 5:8 (KJV)
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

There are places in your walk and relationship with Jesus that are so strong the enemy knows he cannot be successful in temptation, but there are other places that may prove not as strong, and the enemy of your soul aims for that.

For example, in my life I could sit in a room filled with alcoholic beverages and never be tempted to take a drink. But there are other things that come against me that are not so strong and I have to fight those with the word and the power of God.

You may have a problem with alcohol, drugs, gossip, worry, anger, fear, doubt, overworking, saying no to good so you can have great, etc.!

The declaration that you cannot conquer what you do not confront is so true! If the devil can keep us from recognizing our weakest link in the spirit, he can keep attacking there.

But I have good news! The word of the Living, Loving, God tells us truth!

(Notice the difference in living and loving is the “I” is replaced with an “O”, If we replace concentrating on ourselves “I” and concentrate on others “O” we will Love as Jesus Loves!)

2 Corinthians 12:9 A (KJV)
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.

2 Corinthians 12:10 B (KJV)
: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

And in the Old Testament, Joel instructs us to:

Joel 3:10 B (KJV)
: let the weak say, I am strong.

The point here is when we come to Father God in the name above every name and commit our weaknesses and our strengths to His Lordship, He will make the weak places strong.

Through being able to just say, Lord I am weak, but you are my strength in this area, I release my weakness for doubt or fear or worry or whatever habit may plague you, He will turn that weakness into a mighty strength and use it to show others the Power of surrendering all to Him.

May I say when we receive Jesus Christ as Savior, we are redeemed. Then it is up to us to grow in the Lord and the Power of His might. As we study the word and spend time in the presence of the Lord God Almighty, He will reveal our weaknesses and as you release them to Him, He will make you stronger in those areas than you could ever imagine.

His strength is perfect in us when we admit we are weak, but He is strong!

What is your weakest link? Turn it over to Jesus!

____________________________________________________

Father, in Jesus’ name I come. Thank you for understanding our weaknesses and you have made provision to help us and turn our weaknesses into our strengths. May we understand that we cannot stand in our own strength, but with you the battle is won. Father, help each person reading this to cast every temptation and care on you. You fight our battles, and we can walk in great faith and victory! Amen!

When I am weak, He is Strong! Love, MeMaw!

“HOPE!”

Me-Maw Thoughts

Number 639

July 11, 2023///

In today’s world we can sometimes get discouraged or maybe weary in well doing, or our body has issues that are not getting better no matter how much we are praying.

Websters dictionary gives us these definitions of Hope:

to desire with expectation of obtainment or fulfillment

to expect with confidence TRUST

desire accompanied by expectation of or belief in fulfillment

expectation of fulfillment or success

But the good news is God is good and will never leave us and will be with us to encourage and touch and give us strength for today, tomorrow and fill us with victory!

To those of us who may be in a discouraged place for any reason, I have a scripture that asks the question we should be asking.

Psalm 42:5 (KJV)
Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.

This same scripture is found in Psalm 43:5!

In the message Bible, Psalm 42:5 says:

So, I say to my soul, don’t be discouraged. Don’t be disturbed. For I know my God will break through for me. Then I’ll have plenty of reasons to praise Him all over again. Yes, living before His face is my saving grace!

Let us go a little further. The scripture is encouraging, and I say we already have plenty of reasons to praise Him and we should remember those and praise Him in spite of all that may be going on in our lives and then when God breaks through like a mighty flood of blessings, we will praise Him for that.

Our Hope and Trust is in a God who can, and a God who will guide our lives as we listen and follow Him. Just being able to understand and receive the Love He has for us should cause praises to flow from us unhindered.

Where is our hope and our help? In a world gone crazy and the enemy on the rampage against the born-again believers, where do we go.

Our hope is in God, He is our help and with Him all things are possible.

Praise is a weapon. Imagine in your mind the truth that when we praise God in the middle of disturbing circumstances, the devil screams, stops up his ears and runs!

What an amazing picture of what happens when our Hope is in the Lord God Almighty, who made heaven and earth and all that is in it.

Satan thought he could overthrow God and be the ruler, but he got thrown out of heaven and is still trying to get people to honor him over God.

But Jesus set us free from His lies and deception and gives us Truth and Life.

When we praise, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, the evil one is reminded of who is really in charge.

Who or what are we hoping in or for? Surely our hope cannot rest in us, or our jobs. or bank account or possessions or even friends and family.

Our hope certainly cannot rest in our government or our society!

Our Hope must be in the one who created us and knew us before we were born. The one who knows the very desires of our hearts and every tear we have ever shed. The one who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we can ask or think!

Why would we ever be downcast? God has blessed each of us. If you are breathing, you are blessed, and God is not far away but is with in and around us!

May the Truth of the Word and who God really is fill each of us with Joy unspeakable and full of Glory!

My Hope is in God and I Praise Him for His Prescence in my life!

The apostle Paul summed it up when He said: “Rejoice in the Lord, and again I say rejoice!

Where is your Hope?

————————————————————————————-

Father, in Jesus’ name I come. I praise you because you are God and beside you there is no other. You anoint me with fresh anointing, and you fill me with joy and gladness. Thank you that you work out every situation for my good and your Glory!

Invade everyone who reads this with the Hope and security that only you can bring!

Thank you for being our safe place and our confidence is in you. I worship you with all that I am. Amen!

“FREE!”

ME-MAW THOUGHTS

NUMBER 638

“LET FREEDOM RING!”

There is a Gospel song that says in part:

“LOCK ME UP IN A PRISON AND THROW AWAY THE KEY…….

BUT I WILL STILL GO FREE!”

Jesus sets us free! And as I have said before, free from and free to be!

The circumstances we are in cannot take away our freedom deep inside, the real us, that only comes from Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior!

We are free in the United States of America. Yes, our freedom as believers is threatened and challenged more and more and we should make this a serious matter of prayer, but our real freedom does not lie with the laws of our land!

John 8:36 (KJV)
If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

All over the world there are believers who are being persecuted, and those who are having to worship underground, being killed, and in prison, all for their faith!

These understand, as we need to, deep inside that their freedom is not dependent on where they are!

We are blessed indeed in this country and need to pray and put people in office, national, state, and local, that will fight for these freedoms we enjoy!

As a free people in the USA and more importantly in Jesus Christ, we need to be alert and aware that the enemy of all that is good, is blinding people’s eyes to the truth of what an awesome privilege we have in Jesus and this country!

We must show those and pray for those walking in darkness, the light so they can be truly free!

2 Corinthians 4:4 (KJV)
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Ephesians 5:8 (KJV)
For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:

We have the light of Jesus Christ that sets us free no matter where we are and what is happening, and we should be shining that light to a world that is bound but thinks they are free to do whatever they desire in the flesh and mind!

1 Peter 2:9 (KJV)
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light
:

We are chosen to change the atmosphere wherever we are! We are never in darkness, and we are never in bondage, except of our own making!

Yes, we can place ourselves in bondage of fear, doubt, regret, unforgiveness, bitterness, depression, rejections, and I could go on and on!

But when we realize who Jesus Christ, the one in whom we place our trust, has set us free, we can truly be free, in a prison, in our homes, workplaces, churches, shops, cars, or anywhere else!

Hateful people, mean customer service reps, out of sort bosses, family problems, health issues, even church people, cannot take our freedom in Christ!

If we know the truth, we are free, free from and free to be!

John 8:32 (KJV)
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

On this wonderful day in the United States of America, as you celebrate in some way, remember to thank the Lord God Almighty for those who fought and are fighting, and those who have lost their lives for the privilege of this day!

But never forget to continually Praise the Lord God Almighty for setting us really free by sending Jesus, who suffered and died that we could walk in that freedom!

May we show that real freedom to others every day.

1 John 1:5 (KJV)
This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

Freedom cost, whether in the USA, or in Jesus! Be Thankful the price was paid!
