This week, the week before the Christian Freedom Celebrations, I want to share some information I shared last year. It needs repeating!

EASTER: a Christian holiday celebrating Christ’s resurrection that is observed on the first Sunday following the first full moon on or after March 21

The most important and oldest festival of the Christian Church, celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ and held (in the Western Church) between March 21 and April 25, on the first Sunday after the first full moon following the northern spring equinox.

So, there are no surprises there! We all understand that the resurrection is vital to the Christian Faith! Many of us call it resurrection Sunday!

But what does the egg have to do with it? I have heard some discussions during this season about the easter eggs and why would Christians celebrate with eggs and is it a pagan thing.

I did a little research and want to share some things I found with you!

Easter eggs have been a part of Christian tradition for centuries, and they represent many important aspects of the faith.

The egg shape symbolizes Jesus’s resurrection, while the color of the egg can be a reminder of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross.

Decorating Easter eggs is an enjoyable activity that allows families to express their creativity and share in the joy of this special holiday.

Eating Easter eggs is also a meaningful ritual that symbolizes new life and hope. For example, when I was growing up, my mom would always give us a hard-boiled egg on Easter morning as a reminder to have faith no matter what comes our way.

Through these rituals and symbols, Christians are reminded of Jesus’s death and resurrection and how it changed our lives forever.

The egg shape of Easter is a reminder of the Holy symbolism and spiritual meaning associated with Easter in Christianity. It symbolizes new life, renewal, and hope for believers as they look forward to Jesus Christ’s resurrection from the dead.

The hard shell of an egg can be seen as representing the tomb Jesus was laid in for three days before he rose again.

The eggs also represent fertility, which is why eggs were traditionally given as gifts during Easter. This symbolizes the promise of abundance and prosperity that comes from faith in Jesus Christ.

The colorful decorations on Easter eggs are also representative of God’s creativity and the beauty He brings into our lives.

Easter eggs have long been a symbol of celebration in Christianity. The egg, when cracked open, is said to represent new life in Christ’s resurrection. The egg’s rich symbolism is integral to the Easter holiday and its traditions.

___________________________________________

These facts were interesting to me, and I pray they help you understand the reason we as Christians celebrate with eggs.

Saturday, I watched kids by the hundreds participating in an easter egg hunt of 13,000 eggs at our church! Knowing there were gifts inside these eggs they did not waste any time.

As I observed this it came to me that they were like the world searching for something to satisfy and that only comes through Faith in Jesus Christ!

Yes, things and events will satisfy for a short while but only Jesus truly satisfies no matter the circumstances.

In this week following the resurrection celebrations, let us hold fast to the truth of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, who came as a living expression of God’s Love for His creations, and remember we are here on earth for a reason!

We must never forget the message, whether presented from pulpit or through an egg, that the angel declared in Mark 16:6:

Mark 16:6 (TPT)

But the angel said to them, “Don’t be afraid. I know that you’re here looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. HE ISN’T HERE—HE HAS RISEN VICTORIOUSLY! Look! See the place where they laid him.

Father, thank you for the resurrection and life in Jesus! May we understand that Jesus lived and died and was resurrected that each of us can have Peace, Joy, and a spirit of ease in the midst of a world that seems to be out of control! Thank you for the Peace that passes all understanding, and that the world cannot give. May we celebrate this not only on resurrection Sunday but every day of the year for the rest of our time here on earth! I ask this in Jesus’ name! Amen!

I pray this repeat was a Blessing and informative! Have an amazing Easter, as we celebrate all Christ did for us!

“INVENTIONS!”

April 8, 2025///

Yesterday early morning I got a weather alert on my phone. A tornado was in the area!

I tuned into a local news station on my computer and watched as specific streets were named where the rotation was, and times were projected for when this turmoil would reach different towns.

As I was praying for protection, I was also very aware of the giant steps technology and inventions have taken since I was a child and before!

Lives are saved because we are now able to track storms down to the very second!

Look back at transportation. We get into our cars and turn the key, and it begins to run. Some of you do not even need a key, you push a button on a little pod in your hand and your car cranks before you get in!

Before this, cars had to be cranked by turning a handle in the front of the car and before that there were horses and buggies.

We go to ATM’s and withdraw money or even make deposits over our phones!

We have cell phones, computers, Fitbit watches, Bluetooth phone connections and electricity to power or charge all of it!

We are blessed with electricity that powers so much of our lives.

We can talk or what is called facetime with those down the street, someone thousands of miles away or in a totally different country!

We can buy things by swiping a card and technology has made it possible to shop for anything from toothpaste to cars and houses online! The internet is an amazing door to both bad and good but was invented or discovered to be used for good!

Consider washers, dishwashers, hot and cold running water and central heat and air!

And a man has stepped on the moon!

There are heart and kidney transplants and medical knowledge that defies logic!

I could continue but I want to point out the reason we have all these awesome conveniences and amazing things in our lives!

Whether the inventers or discoverers honor God or not, all creations, inventions, and great ideas, come from Him!

Jesus was God’s love letter in the flesh sent to show us how much He Loves us!

Jesus was from the beginning with God and was a part of creation. We are never more like Jesus than when we are being creative, whether in our homes, our workplace, with music, writing, or an unfathomable number of other things!

You were created to create! All good things come from God above who spoke everything we see into existence!

People may take credit for their knowledge, wisdom, and ideas, but it originates with the Creator God!

Look at these two scriptures of many in God’s Word!

1 Corinthians 2:16 (KJV 1900)

For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? BUT WE HAVE THE MIND OF CHRIST.

Philippians 2:5 (KJV 1900)

LET THIS MIND BE IN YOU, WHICH WAS ALSO IN CHRIST JESUS:

What a promise to those who believe. We can have ideas, direction, and the courage to do what seems impossible as we realize we are created with a spirit of creativity in us!

Some who have invented or discovered do not acknowledge God, but some do. Some understand all knowledge comes from the Creator God.

I challenge each of us today to begin to let the creator of the universe stir up the creative ideas and abilities and talents within us!

A mother came up with vegetables as characters to entertain and teach her children, and the “Vegie Tales” were born. These videos have cemented the principles of God’s word in children everywhere!

I am grateful for every invention or ideas that makes our life easier, but I am more grateful for a God who created each of us with a creative spirit. May we open our hearts to the creativity God has placed in us!

_____________________________________________

Father, In Jesus’ name I come with a grateful heart that we were created on purpose and for a purpose and you have put a creative spirit in each of us. May we let you lead us to use it to its fullest! Nothing is impossible for you! Amen!

“FORGETTING

Me-Maw Thoughts

Number 729

April 2, 2025///

Help me not feel so bad about the fact that I forgot to do MeMaw Thoughts this morning. I had to be reminded!

So, think about what you have forgotten in the last week. Where was something? Who were you supposed to call? Or maybe where you were supposed to be!

Have you ever forgotten a family member’s birthday?

Or this one that happens to all of us: someone’s name!

Some of the things we forget are not so important, some will change our life, (like a job interview)! But all are frustrating and some are embarrassing!

As we grow older, we may forget more easily or if we have a lot on our minds we can forget!

But the most life effecting thing to forget is prayer and Bible reading and meditating on what the Word says!

Do we remember that the most important part of our day is when we give time to praise our creator and bring our day and our ways before Him?

If we forget this, it changes our life in the worst way! We cannot hope to do as much, as good, or as quickly, when we leave off the most important thing in our lives!

Trying to navigate life by ourselves is the hardest place we can find! But a day given to the Lord Jesus to honor and show His love to others is a life worth living!

But the good news is, God our Father and Jesus Christ our Savior knows where we are and never forgets us! Even if we have not given Him our day, if we call on Him at anytime of the day or night, He hears and He is with us!

May we look at a couple of the many scriptures in the word that bear this out!

Hebrews 13:5 (KJV)

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Jeremiah 33:3 (KJV)

Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

Call Him, remember Him, never forget He is with you and will lead you in everything you do.

What comfort to know when we forget something important, those who love us forgive and love us anyway!

God loves us more than we can imagine and when we call on Him, He is forgiving that we have forgotten to spend time with Him for three days in a row or longer! He is there and He listen to our prayers even if it just “HELP”!

Just imagine your child forgetting his or her lunch or lunch money! Forgetting to give you a note from the teacher or forgetting to walk the dog or brush his or her teeth!

We could name hundreds of forgetful things about our children, and we may be concerned, but we will take the lunch or lunch money to the school, go to the school and talk to the teacher concerning the note we did not get on time, and begin to remind him or her to walk the dog or brush their teeth!

The point is they are still our child, and we love them forgetfulness and all!

You are God’s child, and He loves you, but He waits lovingly for you to take time to just fellowship and talk to Him and learn from His Word!

Psalm 73:28 (KJV)

But it is good for me to draw near to God:

I have put my trust in the Lord God,

That I may declare all thy works.

Don’t forget the most important, life-changing time you can spend!

Don’t forget who knows you best and loves you most!

___________________________________

Father, forgive us when we forget you. May each of us understand that you want to be part of every second of every day! Help us to show you our Love by spending time in your presence and letting you show us your Love! In Jesus name I pray! Amen!

“SATISFACTION!”

Me-Maw Thoughts

Number 728

March 25, 2025///

Have you noticed that when we get something we want, we want more of it? We may lose the five pounds we were trying to lose and now we want to lose 10 more. We may have enough money and more to pay our bills, but we want more money!

We may want better and better health or more children, or a different job or career. We may desire to be the boss instead of following the boss’s instruction.

Have you desired a certain food and then wanted more and more of it? What about something new in our house or something new to wear, or a more exciting vacation?

Some of these wants are good or at least ok, but satisfaction seems to be in the next step in our wants!

Consider with me, your wants! And then narrow that down to your needs. What do you actually need in your life! What do you need, not what do you want!

I want to share some thoughts I had this morning on “NEEDS, DESIRES, AND SATISFACTION”!

We are to speak our needs to our heavenly Father in prayer as we thank Him that He will supply each need we have.

Philippians 4:19 (KJV)

But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

We may not see any way, but if we Trust that promise from the word, our needs will be supplied.

What do you need today? Is it physical, financial, relational? Maybe it is a hurting child to be comforted, or direction for the next step in handling a problem.

Ask and don’t give up and the supply will be given!

But God’s promises do not stop there. We must take hold of the promises in His word and claim them as our own. God, who can do all things has promised more than just our needs!

Mark 11:24 (KJV)

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

God has promised when we pray and believe He will give us what we desire.

Does that mean that we can ask for a mansion and get it or a million dollars and get it? Read on, I am getting to that.

What about satisfaction? Do you know those who are never satisfied? Maybe that is you. Do you overlook all the good things your child has done and focus on the one thing they did wrong? Do you overlook the Blessings the Father has bestowed on you and focus on the one thing that is hard in your life.

The word tells us to be content!

Philippians 4:11 (KJV)

Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.

Psalm 145:16 (KJV)

Thou openest thine hand,

And satisfiest the desire of every living thing.

Now let us pull all this together. The promise is God will supply our needs, our wants, and our desires and satisfies us.

Does that mean that we can just ask for anything and it will be honored. Let’s look at the verse that gives us the key.

MATTHEW 6:33 (KJV)

BUT SEEK YE FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD, AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS; AND ALL THESE THINGS SHALL BE ADDED UNTO YOU.

When we seek Him first everything else will take second place and we will not be asking for things out of his will. Remember it is His will to heal, to bless, to supply and satisfy, but it comes when we are content in our relationship with Him and live our lives with an eternal mindset.

When we seek Him first, we find He is enough. But He delights in giving us abundance in every area of our lives!

I encourage you to examine your desires in light of eternity!

_____________________________

Father, I come with a grateful heart that your love flows freely to us. Help us to seek a closer relationship with you and we will find satisfaction for our souls and satisfaction in your supply of our needs and desires. Let us walk different from the world system who says get all you can. Our motto should be to be content in Jesus! Amen!

“WHO HAS THE WHEEL?

Me-Maw thoughts

Number 727

March 18, 2025///

In Georgia as in other states we had some stormy weather this past weekend. Ours came in the late-night Saturday night and into early Sunday morning.

There were Tornado warnings and a tornado with 110 miles an hour wind came through the County and the town our son and his family live in. It was on the ground there for about 12 miles.

There was a lot of damage even as close as a mile from my son’s family’s home.

But they had no damage except a few panels blew off the green house they have. But they just blew across the street and were not damaged and my son was able just to put them back on.

I was thinking about the prayers we were praying for protection of all we knew as the reports earlier in the week warned of the coming storms.

In other areas of the state massive tress, power lines, etc. were on houses and cars and roads were blocked and things in some parts of Georgia were a mess. Unlike some other states we had no deaths due to the storm.

My mind went to the fact that within ourselves we have no authority over storms and destruction.

Our only weapon against the weather is prayer and trusting that whatever happens, God can turn it around for our good and His glory. But we must pray with faith and trust the one who loves us to protect us.

We all know that bad things happen to good people, but we must do our part to pray and worship and trust no matter what.

My question to you is, “IF WITHIN OURSELVES WE CANNOT CONTROL THE WEATHER, WHY DO WE THINK WE CAN HANDLE ANY OF OUR LIFE BY OURSELVES”?

We think we can do it, and our way is the right way. The old song by Evis Presley comes to mind! “I DID IT MY WAY”!

We think we know what is best and it sometimes works for a while, but the better way is to lean on the one who can control not only the weather but all things in our lives.

My encouragement to you is to pray about everything. What does that mean? Well, I pray about a parking place, to find what I need, favor with a customer service call as well as for those who are hurting and sick and trying to handle things their way. I pray by name for my family, church family and friends.

I ask again, why do we think we can handle our lives on our own? The creator God who created the universe and created us knows exactly what we need and will guide us in the best way with the best outcome!

Every decision should be guided by Him. Every care lifted to Him and every frustration we should lay at His feet in prayer.

Friends, it brings me to tears when I think about how even as Christians, we do not take everything to the Lord in Prayer. We become so stubborn and set in our ways that we think we have the right moves!

But may I tell you that it is the Lord God Almighty that knows the right way and the statement, “GODS GOT THIS,’ is absolutely true as we release it to Him.

Let go and let God guide all you do every day in every way!

When the storms of life rage, and when life seems to fall apart, in Jesus you are safe, and he will handle it.

Leaning on Him, and admitting we are weak, but He is Strong, we are His Beloved and can trust the one who loves us best, gives us security and peace that cannot be bought!

Remember the scripture, “I can do all things THROUGH CHRIST WHICH STRENGTHENS ME’!

THROUGH CHRIST STRENGTH IS WHERE WE NEED TO LIVE! NOT OUR STRENGTH!

Father, I come in the name of Jesus Christ and thank you that you will take the wheel of our life as we release everything and everyone in it to your Lordship. Help us to walk in complete trust in who you are and who you are to us. Loving Heavenly Father, you do everything well! Amen!

Trust and obey, for there’s no other way to be truly happy! Love, MeMaw!

March 11,2025///

I had a plan for today’s memaw thoughts but wanted a specific list to insert in it today! But as I was searching for the list, I ran across a MeMaw Thoughts from March of last year that just stirred me in my spirit. I am just reprinting it for today’s thoughts and ask that you read it carefully and ponder it in your mind and heart! Don’t forget, I love you and Jesus does too!

Me-maw thoughts/ Number 674/ March 12,2024

I am not into football, but I heard on the news that Kirk Cousins signed a four-year contract with the Atlanta Falcons for 180 million dollars. That is million with an m.

That does not even compute in my brain.

However, it brought to mind something that was on my granddaughters’ face book page back on February 20th. It is worth printing here.

Some of you would have read it on her page but most have not. Even if you have seen this it is worth a second, third, and fourth, read. Let the truth sink deep in your heart!

***********************************

The following is the philosophy of Charles Schulz, the creator of the ‘Peanuts’ comic strip.

You don’t have to actually answer the questions. Just ponder on them. Just read it straight through, and you’ll get the point.

1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.

2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.

3. Name the last five winners of the Miss America pageant.

4. Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.

5. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor and actress.

6. Name the last decade’s worth of World Series winners.

How did you do?

The point is none of us remember the headliners of yesterday. These are not second-rate achievers. They are the best in their fields.

But the applause dies.

Awards tarnish.

Achievements are forgotten.

Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners.

Here’s another quiz. See how you do on this one:

1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.

2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.

3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.

4. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special.

5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.

Easier?

The lesson:

The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money … or the most awards. They simply are the ones who care the most.

*****************************************

I wonder, will I be remembered for caring for people.

Fifteen years from now will anyone remember who Kirk Cousins is?

But fifteen years from now how many hurting children, searching teens, struggling single parents, and discouraged souls, will you have lifted with a smile, a touch, a hug, a gift, a call, a card.

Your worth is not in your successes in the world’s eyes, but in the Love of Jesus Christ flowing from you to others.

I pray the Kirk Cousins of the world will give God glory for the talents He has blessed them with and use the money to help those who need a lift.

But the real question is: Do I care and show it?

1 John 4:11 (KJV 1900)

Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

___________________________________

Father, I ask that you fill each of us with such care for others that we make a difference in the lives around us each day. Help us to see the needs and show your Love through our caring actions. May we understand that caring is living from an eternal perspective. Fill us with compassion and love for others as only you can give us. I ask this in the name of Jesus, that wonderful, amazing name. Amen!

“THE PUZZLE!”

Me-Maw Thoughts

Number 725

March 4, 2025///

I am sure most of you at one time or the other have put together a jigsaw puzzle. They come in all shapes and sizes and various numbers of pieces.

The object, of course, is to get all the pieces in place and you have the complete beautiful picture!

To start you try to find the outside pieces, the parameter, the ones that form the straight lines of the top, bottom, and side edges.

But if you have attempted to put a 600, 1000, or more piece puzzle together you know the outer edge pieces seem to hide and you may have most of them and look for a long time for the others and even think some are missing.

But if you just begin to fill in the middle with the pieces you can find you will run across the outer edges from time to time!

I HAVE A POINT, STAY WITH ME!

As you find a piece that fits and then a few more that fits in that area you are wrongly convinced you are on a roll, but you hit a stop and even though some of the pieces look like they would fit and we try, they are not the right fit.

We then must look at the pieces, find one that fits another place and fill in that area until we hit a stop. Meanwhile we run across some of the missing outer edges.

If we work on it enough, we will get all the pieces in place and see the beauty!

May we compare that to our lives. First let me say that God created you with a plan for your life!

We may look at our lives and see pieces that are scattered and not all in order. We may start trying to put our lives together through prayer by placing things that are the parameter of all we are in place: our families, jobs, etc.

But we hit a stopping point, and nothing fits the outside edge.

We move to a place in the middle where a piece fits (maybe the right church or friends, etc.). And for a while we are building that part of our life and then nothing is going right!

We try different things that look perfect but do not fit. We must move to a different part of Gods plan for our life.

From all of this we can learn that we must do the next thing, or the last thing God has shown us to do.

We must not get stuck in place looking for the right thing to happen or the right opportunity to open.

To go forward in our lives and in our walk with God we must do what we can!

We must do what we know to do and do it unto the lord and with all our hearts and we will soon see the next thing or a different thing.

If we do what we can, our eyes will be open to the next step in completing the plan God created us for.

We must stop trying to do or fit into out lives the things that do not fit, because they are not a part of Gods beautiful picture of our lives.

As we do what we can do, we will find the things that fit the parameter, which is a greater walk with the creator God who surrounds us with favor, love, and peace.

As we commit to what we can do and commit ourselves to walk with Jesus, He will show us the way.

I pray you will join me in a commitment to do the things we can and not try to make pieces of our life fit where they do not belong!

Matthew 11:28–30 (TPT)

28 “Are you weary, carrying a heavy burden? Then come to me. I will refresh your life, for I am your oasis. 29 Simply join your life with mine. Learn my ways and you’ll discover that I’m gentle, humble, easy to please. You will find refreshment and rest in me. 30 For all that I require of you will be pleasant and easy to bear.”

____________________________

Father, in Jesus” name I ask that you help each one who reads this to commit to you all we are and all we are not. Guide us to do what we can and walk in fellowship with you and you will guide us in all we do! Amen!

“WHERE CAN WE GO!!”

Me-Maw Thoughts

Number 724

February 25, 2025///

Somehow the mood I am in this morning has me thinking back across the 80 plus years I have been alive.

I have seen mountain tops and valleys. Hard places and impossible places, but as I thought of all of that and most of all the blessings that have been poured out on me despite my mistakes and errors, I can only say “Thank you Jesus for who you are in my life”!

It reminded me of the response of Peter when some of Jesus followers left from following Him, and Jesus asked the disciples if they were going away also! Peter replied for all the disciples, as recorded in John 6:68!

John 6:68 (KJV)

Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.

May I ask you that question this morning? Where else can we go except to the Father who created us and Jesus who took all the wrongs in our life on Himself?

David said in the Psalms, “when my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” May I tell you that rock is Christ Jesus and our trust in Him is the foundation of the life of one who is really living!

But let us look at how we respond when our heart is overwhelmed, or we are facing adversity or situations of every type!

Are we fretful, worried, trying to figure it out ourselves, or do we run to the one who has all the answers? The one who knows us best and loves us most.

Do we lean on Him and let Him take our fears away!

I have always wondered why we are prone to wait until we are desperate to pray about a situation rather than letting that be the first thing we do when we are encountering difficulty!

If you have read my thoughts for very long you know I believe, prayer and praise and the word are the foundations of growing in faith. And when we grow in faith we know where our help comes from!

It comes from the Father of Lights who never changes but is always for our good!

Truth brings us to the knowledge that even in the hardest times, in the times when we cannot even utter a prayer, times when we are bowed down with grief or care, He is there.

How do we consistently walk in that place of trusting the Lord God Almighty?

Our granddaughter wrote and recorded a song that express who some think Jesus is but then has the Chorus that expresses what makes the difference. It says:

“I Know who you are to me!

The lord of lords, my king of kings, the son of God, my victory!

You’re the good shepherd of my soul.

The great I am who Made me whole.

You rescued me. You set me free.

That’s who you are to me.”

It goes on to talk about all Jesus is.

That leaves us with the question, DO WE KNOW WHO JESUS IS AND DO WE KNOW WHO HE IS TO US?

When we really know, that produces the trust in Him that has us pouring out all our concerns and situations to Him!

Sunday at church we sang a song that expresses my life. The Chorus is “All my life you have been faithful, all my life you have been so, so, good. With every breath that I am able, I will sing of the goodness of God.

He has truly been faithful to me!

Let me leave you with this thought no matter where you are or what you are facing!

GOD’S GOT THIS!

________________________________________

Father, I come in the name of Jesus and ask you to help us to know you better, to love you more, and to trust you with our whole heart! Be very real to all who read this and touch them deep inside with the knowledge of who you are! Thank you for your unconditional love and the peace that cannot be explained. Amen!

“STORMS!

Me-Maw Thoughts

Number 723

February 18, 2025///

The storm Sunday Morning knocked out power to some and damaged homes and in South Atlanta Metro a confirmed tornado touched down.

Praise God we were not affected but many of our friends were. It made me remember a couple of years ago when we were the ones affected.

We had ten trees down in our yard and one treetop in our garage just inches from our car! It slid boxes of Christmas decorations over and nothing was broken. It was like angels slid the boxes. Also, if the entire tree had fallen our car would have been smashed.

Our roof had some damage but the tall trees that fell missed our house. They would have smashed our house with us in it. It was days before we had power!

We were in our hallway praying as things were knocking, pounding and there was nothing we could do.

Afterward in our thankful hearts that we were ok, we had two main questions that some of you may be dealing with today.

“Lord why did you not stop this from happening,” and “What do we do now?”

When dealing with the insurance company we found that in the state of Georgia unless a tree hits a structure (house, fence, out building, etc.) the insurance company will not pay to have it removed.

So here we were with five huge trees uprooted in our yard and we had to pay to have them removed and we had to pay a deductible on the damage that was covered.

Our son-in-law years ago had a tree business but had sold all his equipment and these big, tall trees could not be handled by just the small tools he had. When we had someone look at the trees our sweet son-in-law was there discussing it with the person because we were not sure of the entire process!

At that time, we did not realize we had much roof damage although we were seeing discoloring in the bedroom ceiling.

GOD PROMISED ALL THINGS WOULD WORK TOGETHER FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM!

Well, our roof was about 30 years old. Because of the damage from the storm, it could not be repaired, and we were blessed with a new roof which was much more expensive than the removal of ten trees and the deductible.

I tell you all of this to say that whatever damage you received because of the storm Sunday, or whatever situation or problem you are facing, God will turn it around and work it for your good and His Glory. We just need to rest in Him, commit all to Him and understand that He can and will!

Another point of the storm is that although power was out for a while, it was back on at some point.

No matter what situation you are in that seems to be blocking the power of the spirit of God in your life. Hold on, just commit all you are and all you are not to the Lord God Almighty and trust in Him and watch Him work!

I just wanted you to know that however bleak your situation is our father in heaven is aware of it and will turn it around for good as we let go and let HIM!

Father, I praise you for all who read this. I ask you to fill each of us with joy from you and the knowledge that you are for us and when we allow you, you fight our battles and give us direction and handle all situations. Bless with peace all who are in troubling situations right now. Overwhelm them with the truth of how much you love them. I pray it all in Jesus’ name! Amen!

“WHO DO WE TRUST?”

Me-Maw Thoughts

Number 722

February 11, 2025///

As my husband Ronald was taken back this morning to have cataract surgery, I had some thoughts that I want to share.

We trust someone we do not really know to work on our eyes, our heart, and other vital parts of our body. We allow an anesthesiologist to put us to sleep and we believe it will be done correctly even though they are human.

If we did not trust in our creator God, we should be concerned. But if we place our trust in the one who made us, we can know who really is in charge and guiding everything happening.

In our daily lives, when our situation is beyond our control, we can trust the one who loves us best.

God is with us, our children, and other family members and if we trust Him, we should be confident that in every situation and in every person, He is in control.

So why do we sometimes put more Trust in Doctors than God?

Proverbs 3:5 (KJV)

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart;

And lean not unto thine own understanding.

Proverbs 3:5 (TPT)

Trust in the Lord completely,

and do not rely on your own opinions.

Another thing that happened is I could accompany Ronald to the first place, the second place, but then I had to stay behind when he was taken to the surgery place.

We can be there for those we love but at some point, they are going to go into a place where we cannot be there. Maybe starting school, or an adult moving away or serving in the armed forces.

But we can pray and release them to the Lord God Almighty and know they are never alone or far from our heart!

We want to take care of the people we love and make everything right for them, but the only one who can truly keep them safe and give them peace is the one who loves them best: God who created them.

We trust the Lord for Salvation, which transforms us inside! But then we act like we cannot trust Him in the big and little things of life.

It is the Father who made us and not our self!

As the Disney movie, Frozen, says: LET IT GO!

In addition, we can say: GOD’S GOT THIS!

If we believe He is God, and we are not. If we believe He is all powerful, then let us walk like our Father is going to lead us, guide us, fight for us, and take care of us!

Isaiah 45:2 (KJV)

I will go before thee,

And make the crooked places straight:

“It is sweet to Trust in Jesus!”
