In this week of thanksgiving when we are gathering with family or friends to just take time to be thankful, first let me remind you that we should be living a life of thanksgiving, which I call thanksliving. I like that word even though auto correct will not recognize it.

For some, there are those who were here last year and are now spending thanksgiving with their savior, Jesus Christ. For all of us we are so blessed to be able to be with family and take time to appreciate each other.

May I express to you this morning the incredible gratefulness in my heart for my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He is always with me and the Holy Spirit fills me with Peace, Joy and Love. I am guided by a power that knows all, sees all and can do all!

I so desire that the world understand and grasp that the real life is found in Jesus!

I think of all the decisions we make each day and in every way from getting out of bed to getting dressed and a thousand other things all during the day.

Which leads me to the greatest decision we will ever face! The question was posed by Pilot to the crowd on the morning after he was arrested. It is a portion of the 22 verse of Matthew 27:

“Pilate saith unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ? “

This can be restated to each of us:
“What shall you do then with Jesus which is called Christ?”

Each of us must answer that question, and the answer will affect our life, all those around us and where we spend eternity.

Will we take part in the great exchange: exchanging all our mess ups and wrong choices for the cleansing of all Jesus did at Calvary, or will we take the way of the world that says you must prove and strive to succeed above all else.

Or maybe we buy into the lie that says, enjoy yourself and don’t consider how it affects others. It’s your life, do it your way.

Or maybe you believe in almighty God and have received Jesus as Savior, but you have not made Him Lord and therefore you are not walking in His benefits, nor pointing others to THE WAY, THE TRUTH, THE LIFE!

Jesus came to give us life abundantly. When we treat Him as an acquaintance rather than a constant companion and friend, we live so below what He desires for us.

“What are we doing with Jesus which is called Christ?”

Oh, what a savior, what a friend, what a wonderful privilege to be able to take all our cares and release them to the Creator God because of what Jesus did!!!

Do you know Him? What is your relationship to the one who is called Christ? Is it flippant, is it casual, is it calling on Him when in deep need?

Or is it a second by second intimate friendship with one who promised never to leave us nor forsake us?

Are you trying to do life your way or have you exchanged your way for His Way which is forever and always better!

His plan for you, the story He has written for you is so much better than anything you can dream up, but the enemy bombards us with doubts and fears and the same question he asked Adam and Eve “Hath God Said?”.

Hath God said He Loves you unconditionally? Hath God said He would supply you needs? Hath God said He would never leave you? Hath God said He will guide you into truth? Hath God said He is preparing a place? You failed, hath God said He would forgive that?

Yes, a thousand times yes to all of those and more. We are created in the image of almighty God and He breathed life into us. We can only live life to it’s fullest when we allow His Spirit to invade us and carry us through each day and its adventures.

“What are you doing with Jesus the Christ?”

May we all allow the exchange of all that we are not for all the He is to take place in our lives, and may we be forever thankful and live a thanksliving life!!

Have you ever just looked at all that is going on around us and felt discouraged because it seems that chaos and compromise and deception and anything goes attitudes rule?

Have you ever wondered what God thinks as we murder babies by the thousands and live as if there were no eternity, no morals and no consequence for ignoring God’s Word, will and ways?

Even in our Churches we have many times rejected Holiness for acceptance and being politically correct.

We do not seem to understand that yes God is Love but God is Holy and through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ made a way for us to be Holy and have the Holy Spirit live in us.

I am not referring to perfection but to the desire to please God and do good and live a life that is an example to all of those around us!

I admit that even during prayer and time in the word this morning, I was discouraged by all that goes on in our world and our churches and those who call themselves Christ representatives.

In the midst of tears as I asked God to touch those I know who have Him as a crutch and live the way they choose, as I was praying the scriptures over my family, I felt that God was weeping with me over the mess humans have made of this beautiful world God has given us! I believe He is saying to us what He said to Jerusalem in the following scripture.

Matthew 23:37 (KJV)
O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!

I believe He is saying oh, America, America, ye who could win the world for me and was established on the Bible, how I want to gather you under my wings and protection, but you will not let me.

I believe He is saying to each of us, oh (insert your name), how much I want to Love you and fellowship with you and fill you with the Holy Spirt and right choices and ways, but you will not listen.

I think we are living in an age of rebellion, which the word says is as the sin of witchcraft. We want to do it our way and will!!

But God reminds me that He is Victorious, and He will judge the world in righteousness and He can move mountains and invade peoples hearts and turn nations to Himself as we give our self to prayer and decreeing and declaring that His Glory covers the earth.

Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.

Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.

And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

May we begin to declare His Glory, revival, truth and right in our homes, our families, our churches, our towns, our states, our country, our continent, and our world. May we begin to decree that rebellion is sent back to hell where it belongs, and may we show the world we are Christian by our love and our obedience to shun evil and embrace right.

I believe it is time to quit the compromise and live the way we were created to live, in the freedom of truth and light. Jesus is the answer and Jesus is not defeated and we can walk in Faith and Victory and we walk hand in hand with Him.

Live, love, laugh in the purity of the Holy Spirit in us, and with Jesus, the Hope of Glory!

Let’s take back all the enemy has stolen from us and the wonderful world God has created!!

Father, thank you that you are Holy. I ask you to be Holy in me! Cleanse me and purify my heart and that purity will flow out to the outward living. Forgive all our compromise and desire to fit in. Forgive our weakness and may we understand that when we are weak, you are strong, so we just lean on you. Thank you for Love and Truth that can change our world. May we be examples of that wherever we go to whoever we meet. Amen

Let the truth of God’s Word rule in your heart and life!

This morning as I was praying about what God wanted me to send out today, I was also thinking about situations right now where people close to me are having to just trust God because they cannot see the way, and so I pulled out a MeMaws Thought from 2011. I pray God touches you and encourages you through this!

ISAIAH 30:21
Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying,
“This is the way, walk in it,”

How many of you have ever made the statement, “If God would just draw me a map of what I need to do with my life, I would do it”. Or you say “I know where I am supposed to be going, but I cannot see the way”.

Or maybe you have not even gotten to the place where you are concerned about what God wants from you but know that life has to be about more than you and more than survival. The first step for you is to know that God has a plan for your life and joy comes when you follow in that plan.

Following the plan of God seems like it is sometimes taking steps into the unknown. We know what the desires in our heart are. We believe that our Father God placed them there, but we cannot see how to get there.

It reminds me of driving in a car to a destination. We are looking at a map or depending on our GPS, and believe we are headed correctly. Or maybe we know where we are going. Suddenly in front of us is an 18-wheeler going very slowly. We cannot see around it. We do not know if an accident is ahead, a traffic light, a license check stop, or just slow-moving traffic. Or maybe the 18-wheeler is moving at a normal speed, but we still cannot see the way ahead.

This can be a very frustrating spot to be in. You believe or know you are headed in the right direction but cannot see anything but the back of the 18-wheeler in front of you.
You just keep going, trusting that somewhere down the road the 18-wheeler will get out of your way and you will see what is ahead.

In our Christian walk we face seasons when we cannot see what is ahead. We know God said to us “This is the way”, and yet all we can see ahead is the back of some huge problem or situation that is standing in our way. We begin to question if we really heard God. Is this really what I am supposed to be doing? Am I making a difference in any life? Am I showing the world a different way to live?

At these slow moving, non-seeing, discouraging times, we must know that the Father has a plan and He is guiding us even when we cannot see the way. Sometime in the past I heard a good guide for this. “If you are committed to God and pray for his guidance, don’t change your direction unless you hear a clear command to do so”. Trust that the Spirit of God within you is listening to the voice of the Father. Keep going. Don’t stop even though you cannot see anything that is ahead.

This reminds me of a story Corrie Ten Boom told. She said that her father was taking her on a train trip. She began asking hours ahead for the train ticket she was to use. Her father said to her, “Corrie, you don’t need the ticket now, I will give it to you when you need it”.

This is so like our Heavenly Father; He is saying I will show you the next step when you need it. We may know the destination or dream He has place in our heart, but He will show us the way to get there, one step at a time.

What is the 18-wheeler in your life today? What situation or problem are you looking at and saying, I cannot see what’s ahead, I do not know if I should stop, change course or blow my horn and yell.

God is saying, “just keep going, tune your ears to the spirit that is within you and listen way down deep and you will hear my direction. If I don’t tell you to change your direction, keep going, by faith, knowing I am in control”.

Do you want to make a difference, do you want to fulfill your destiny, then just keep following what you know to do. Love God and Love each other. Then God will show you the personal plan, the personal direction He has for you.

Today is election day. In many states various offices will be voted on.

Here in Georgia we are not voting on Governor or Lieutenant Governor but on other things more local.

In my county of Henry and in some other counties, the sale of alcohol by the drink on Sunday is on the ballot.

These grieves my heart that we are losing the reverence for setting aside Sunday in honor to the Lord God Almighty.

I believe the word of God teaches that we should abstain from strong drink.

Proverbs 20:1 (KJV)
Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.

Proverbs 23:29-33 (KJV)
29 Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes?
30 They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine.
31 Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright.
32 At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder.
33 Thine eyes shall behold strange women, and thine heart shall utter perverse things.

Isaiah 5:11 (KJV)  Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; that continue until night, till wine inflame them!

I believe the Bible teaches that strong drink impairs people’s judgement and causes them to make wrong choices.

I know I feel more strongly about this than some do but I encourage you to go out to the polls today and let your voice be heard on whatever is being voted on in your county or district.

If we want our country to continue to be for the people and by the people we must vote.

And we must pray for every election large or small. The local elections very much set the course for our children’s schools and other influential areas.

We must pray daily for our country and for our leaders eyes to be opened to truth and the foundation of the Word of God this country was founded on.

We have come a long way regarding the rights of all people, male and female.

But we have gone way away from God in the moral aspects of this country. We are murdering babies by the millions. We are filling our theaters and television screens with filth and violence. We have desired that God be removed from our schools, communities, and nation.

And look at the mess that has gotten us into.

It is only the praying children of the Most High God that is holding this nation and this earth together.

We must pray and ask God to heal our land and invade our leaders with wisdom.

And we must get out and vote in good, Godly men and women of God to guide our nation. We must vote to keep evil and bay and bring in the Glory of God.

Do I believe this can happen in this United States of America?

Absolutely!! Prayer changes things.

Pray daily for our President and his family, the Vice-President and his family, the Cabinet Members, the Senate and House of representatives, the Supreme Court Judges, the Lower Court Judges. The Governors, Lieutenant Governors, State Supreme Court and Lower Court Judges and all elected and appointed officials both local and national.

May I tell you this is the only way you will see real change!

 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
VOTE AND PRAY!!!! GOD WILL HEAR!!!!

Father, thank you for the privilege to live in the United States of America. Thank you for the freedom to worship you we enjoy in this Great Country. I pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ in other parts of the world who are being persecuted and killed for their Faith. Strengthen them, Father God and send Angels to deliver them. Help your people in the U.S. who have such freedom to worship realize that if we do not pray and let our voices be heard we could begin to see the persecution other parts of the world are seeing. Stir each one who reads this to pray daily for our Nation. I ask it all in Jesus name.

Heaven is a real place for real people!

Do you believe that?

The entire human race is striving for Joy, Peace, Happiness, Success, and so much more!

Sometimes we may feel like we are on a merry-go-round. We are going and going, up and down, round and round and yet we seem to be making no progress.

Even for those who have a vital relationship with Jesus Christ, life can get hectic and out of control!

When have you ever heard someone say: “I have too much time!” or “I do not have anything to do!”?

But we are constantly saying, or hearing said, I just don’t have enough time to do all I need to do!

Non-Christians and Christian alike get caught up in the living and responsibilities of each day and we begin to think and live like there is no eternity!

“HEAVEN IS A REAL PLACE FOR A REAL PEOPLE!”

I understand that we are to live and serve the Lord God Almighty and bring His Kingdom to Earth. But this will not happen totally over all the world and all in it until the Lord Jesus is reigning for all eternity.

Sometimes we get caught up in life’s wheel going round and round, day by day and we forget that this life is swift and ………..

“HEAVEN IS A REAL PLACE FOR REAL PEOPLE!”

In heaven you will never hurry because there is no time!

You will never have pain, because your new body will be perfect!

You will have need of nothing!

You will never grieve the passing of a loved one, because there is no death there!

You will drink pure water and eat of the most delicious food ever!

But the best part is we will see Jesus face to face, and we will look on the face of the loved ones gone on before us in death. We will see the babies lost before or after birth and the Bible says about heave: “We will be known as we are Known!”

In other words, I will know you and you will know me. I will know my Mother, Dad, Sisters and all who have preceded me to this place of perfection.

Perfection? Do you ever just long for everything or maybe even a few things in your life to be perfect?

May I tell you that Heaven is a perfect place for a people made perfect and righteous by the blood of Jesus Christ!!!

May I tell you that we must never lose sight of the swiftness of life and the reality of Heaven!

When we lose sight of eternity and heaven, we tend to just flow with the worlds view of how we should live today!

If you do not see another sunrise will heaven be your home?

The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof and all that is in it! But evil abounds and we can get caught up in the race of living and lose sight of Heaven, our destination if we believe and receive Jesus Sacrifice on the Cross.

If we do not have a relationship with the Lord Jesus, all of you know where our eternity will be spent, and no one wants to live in torment and away from the Lord God almighty forever. It is your choice, but for those of us who have a relationship with Jesus, do we really believe in heaven as a real place for real people?

Does it seem like a fantasy or as something so far away we cannot comprehend it? I believe that understanding the brevity of life and the reality of heaven will guide us to live each day as Jesus lived. With compassion, love and free from worry and stress!

Father God, creator of all that is I thank you that there is a place of perfection reserved for those who love you and receive what Jesus did on the Cross. Help each of us to take time to reflect on the fact that this earth is not our home, we are just passing through. May we understand that we must live out your priorities and your compassion in this world we are temporarily in. Forgive us when we live like this is all there is and help us to know Heaven is real! I ask this in Jesus Name! Amen

It seems like just yesterday that the year of 2019 began. Now we are nearing the end of October and the season of holidays and then will be rolling into the year 2020.

May I tell you that 2020 sounds so absurd to me. Where has this year and all the years before that gone.

I look back and see all the Blessings the Lord God Almighty has bestowed upon myself and my family. But I also look back and see missed opportunities and things left undone.

Time is a measurement only used here on earth. There is no time in heaven and therefore when it seems like God is slow in acting on our behalf, that is only because we are looking at time.

God deals in eternity and looks at all things fully and completely. That is why the only true security in this life is in putting our trust totally in Him.

But back to time!

I ask myself what has my motivation been this year?

How many times have I said, I will just do that later and never got it done?

How many times have I told those closest to me how much they mean to me and how much I love them?

Have I done anything toward the direction of the deepest God given desire of my heart!

We can survive each day, or we can thrive each day! It is our choice!

BUT TIME WILL PASS!!

When we spend our hours, days and weeks bearing the fruit of the spirit in our lives and reaching out to those around us, Time Will Pass!

If we spend time in depression and blaming the world and others for all our trouble, Time Will Pass!

When we pray, read the word, join ourselves with other believers, Time Will Pass!

If we never pray, honor God with our presence in church, or study the word, Time Will Pass!

Whether we exercise or not, eat right or wrong, drink, do drugs or other body harming things, Time Will Pass!

We will grow old, some will die, others will be born and all the while, Time Will Pass!

I think you get the message that TIME WILL PASS!

So, I ask you: what are you doing with the hours, days and years of your life that are swiftly passing. To stop time is impossible, but to spend our days helping and encouraging others, teaching our children, praying and learning from the word, will cause the end of our days to be filled with more delight than regrets.

As I think of all the things I would like to accomplish before the end of this 2019 year, I also remind myself that I must take the first step and then the subsequent steps will come one at a time.

However, may I tell you that in Seventy-Five years of walking this Journey of life, I have learned one thing. Serving Jesus and keeping Him first is the most important thing you can do.

Your life cannot begin to take on the wonder God planned without you first taking Jesus as your Savior and walking moment by moment with Him.

You may not have made much money nor be a household name. You may not be seen in a pulpit or on a performance stage. You may not get a trophy or win a competition, but if you have served the Lord God Faithfully and lived your life with character and integrity, you have made an impact on lives and even though you many not realize it you are laying up treasures in heaven!!

Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

Matthew 6:20-21 (KJV)
But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Even the Billy Grahams, Martin Luther Kings, and Mother Teresa’s, pass from this life!

Does your family and those around you rise and call you blessed?

I decree and declare that every person reading this will join me in dedicating ourselves to spend our time in eternally valuable things. Even as we go about our daily chores, jobs, and responsibilities, may we do so with an eternal perspective and in partnership with you, the creator of all that is. I am blessed. I am blessed.
Every day that I live, I am blessed.
When I wake up in the morning
and I lay my head to rest,
I am blessed. I am blessed

I write to declares to you this morning that I AM BLESSED, and YOU ARE BLESSED!!

I LOOKED UP SOME STATISTICS AND FOUND THAT:
There are 7.47 Billion people in the world and of those 3.15 Billion have no access to the Gospel!

215 Million believers in the world are persecuted for their faith!

783 Million people do not have access to clean drinking water!

Then there are the homeless, the hungry, etc.!

I AM BLESSED!

I can hear the Gospel any time of the night or day!
I AM BLESSED!

I can Worship where, when and how I choose!
I AM BLESSED!

I slept in a bed last night and was able to get up this morning!
I AM BLESSED!

I walked into my kitchen and had access to good water, food, etc.!
I AM BLESSED!

I have eyes to see the pictures on my refrigerator of my precious family and I am reminded that I AM BLESSED BEYOND MEASURE!

I can speak and I can read and write!
I AM BLESSED!

I was born into a family who taught me about Jesus!
I AM BLESSED!

Perfection in our lives is not possible but we are all Blessed more than we are conscience of!

I am breathing to walk this day in a relationship with the creator God. I live in a world that is beautiful beyond measure when I take the time to look around me!
I AM BLESSED!

I can hear the cry of a newborn baby and the laughter of a toddler!
I AM BLESSED!

My needs are met and even some of my desires!
I AM BLESSED!

What about you? May each of us take time today to just think of all the ways we are Blessed!

And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

All during this time, the good news—the Message of the kingdom—will be preached all over the world, a witness staked out in every country. And then the end will come.

This scripture was spoken by Jesus after the disciples had asked Him when the things He talked about would come. He had been teaching about the end times.

May I first tell you that the rapture of the born-again believers in Jesus can come anytime. Jesus taught it will come as a thief in the night. We need to always be ready to be gathered up to be forever with the Lord Jesus who died for us.

After the born-again believers are taken from this earth where we have a temporary home, the great tribulation will come worse than has ever been seen. This great sorrow comes to bring the Jewish nation to the belief that Jesus is the messiah. God is faithful to the promises he made to his servant Abraham (whom the Jews are descendants of).

I have heard all my life people wondering why Jesus had not returned to rapture the church. I understand that we are now seeing things happen as never before and we are at the door of the things described as the great tribulation and therefore can expect the rapture anytime.

Look with me at that verse in Matthew 24.

Maybe, just maybe, the church of Jesus Christ has slowed His coming because of our lack of reaching the entire world with the gospel, which is the good news that changes lives and sets people free.

Maybe we, as the church of Jesus Christ, have been reluctant to send by our prayers and support those who desire to go into all the world and preach the gospel.

Maybe we as individuals in the church of Jesus Christ said no or wait to the call to go into not only other countries, but other states, cities, neighborhoods.

It is amazing when people say yes to go to other nations, and we can be part of that with our prayers and support. We can pray that the Glory of God cover the earth.

But look around or research the dark and desperate places in our own nation. There is such a need for those who are called, to say yes and go into those places as well as other nations.

Look around your neighborhoods and your workplaces as you will see opportunities to share the gospel of Jesus Christ.

You can be a missionary to the nations, locally, nationwide, and worldwide.

You can go or give and absolutely pray!!!

We must take the authority to obey the command of Jesus to His disciples, after the resurrection, as He was about to ascend to heaven.

Then he said, “Go into the world. Go everywhere and announce the Message of God’s good news to one and all.

Each person must decide for themselves to accept what Jesus did on the cross, but the following verse tells us that they must hear!

Romans 10:14 (KJV)
How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

Don’t think you are not a preacher. Just sharing what Jesus has done for you and what He can do for others is preaching.

May we understand the we are to spread the gospel of Jesus to the whole world.

GO, GIVE, PRAY!!

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, I come to you with a grateful heart that I heard and accepted you as my personal Savior many years ago. I ask that you forgive your church for not been diligent to spread the good news to the ends of the earth by going, giving, praying. I ask you to touch each of us with the truth of what we can do to usher in the return of Jesus. May our hearts be set on you and our ears open to your call. Amen

I had a new thought on a familiar scripture. I am sharing this with you because I believe that we would do well to examine the purity of our hearts.

In Mark chapter nine Jesus took Peter, James and John with Him up to the mountain and they had the privilege of seeing Him in a glorified state.

When they came down from the mountain the other 9 disciples had a crowd gathered and were attempting with no success to cast a demonic spirit out a young man,

Although these disciples were able to cast out other demonic spirits, this time they could not.

The desperate Father begged Jesus to do something and Jesus commanded the demonic spirits to leave the boy and in an additional statement, found nowhere else in the scripture, Jesus commanded the spirits to never enter the boy again.

There is an amazing amount of truth in the ninth chapter but two things I want to point out.

FIRST: I believe that because this boy had been tormented by this demonic spirit so much, that Jesus knew he was weak and was a likely candidate for the spirit or spirits to return. Therefore, he forbade them to do so.

When we pray for spirits of any kind (unbelief, physical, mental, emotional, etc) we need to be sensitive to the need of the one we are praying for, just as Jesus was. We can command them never to return.

Then when the disciples were alone with Jesus and asked him why they could not cast this demonic spirit out, Jesus makes this statement:

JOHN 9: “THIS KIND CAN ONLY COME FORTH BY PRAYER AND FASTING!”

SECOND, and main thing that I saw in this that I wanted to share is that the 9 disciples may have been hurt and jealous that the other three got to go up on the mountain with Jesus. When we allow hurt, offense or jealousy, or envy in our hearts we lose the power that allows us to defeat the forces of hell every time.

They had cast out demonic spirits before so I believe the reason Jesus told them this kind needed prayer and fasting is that prayer and fasting would cleanse their hearts of jealousy and any impurities and prepare them to be a vessel of honor for His Power to work through.

David said in the Psalms: Cleanse me oh God and know my heart. In another scripture we are told God looks on the heart and we are told to guard our heart.

May I tell you that if we will Pray and study the word and seek the face of the Lord God Almighty, we will be ready to speak life to people and command all of the irritations and forces of hell to go back where y came from.

May I suggest we are powerless because we lack persistent prayer and cleansing of our heart.

May I suggest we are powerless because we harbor resentments, envy, jealousy, unforgiveness, and other ungodly attitudes in our hearts.

I encourage you to let the Holy Spirit search your heart and remove all the junk and fill you with the knowledge and power He wants to give, and we can change the world around us!

We are admonished as Christians to pray for our great Country and the World. We must pray for our leaders and our freedoms.

With this in mind, I thought it fitting to share with you some portions of a C-Span video of the first meeting at the United Nations on religious freedom.

No matter what your opinion is of President Trump he made a great speech and gave a couple of startling statistics.

And I was shocked when I was given that statistic that I would be the first. That’s very sad, in many ways. And it’s great to be with you.

APPROXIMATELY 80% OF THE WORLD POPULATION******** LIVE IN COUNTRIES WHERE RELIGIOUS LIBERTIES ARE THREATEN, RESTRICTED OR EVEN BAND.

WHEN I HEARD THAT NUMBER I SAID PLEASE GO BACK AND CHECK BECAUSE IT CAN’T POSSIBLY BE CORRECT. SADLY IT WAS. 80%.

AS WE SPEAK, JEWS, CHRISTIANS, MUSLIMS, BUDDHISTS, HINDUS, SIKHS, MANY OTHER PEOPLE OF FAITH ARE BEING JAILED, SANCTIONED, TORTURED AND EVEN MURDERED AT THE HANDS OF THEIR OWN GOVERNMENT SIMPLY FOR EXPRESSING THEIR DEEPLY HELD RELIGIOUS BELIEFS. SO HARD TO BELIEVE. TODAY WITH ONE CLEAR VOICE THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA CALLS UPON THE NATIONS OF THE WORLD TO END RELIGIOUS PERSECUTION.

AS PRESIDENT, PROTECTING RELIGIOUS FREEDOM IS ONE OF MY HIGHEST PRIORITIES AND ALWAYS HAS BEEN. LAST YEAR OUR SECRETARY OF STATE MIKE POMPEO HOSTED THE FIRST EVER MINISTERIAL TO ADVANCE INTERNATIONAL RELIGIOUS FREEDOM AND AT THIS YEAR’S MINISTERIAL, SECRETARY POMPEO ANNOUNCED PLANS TO CREATE THE INTERNATIONAL RELIGIOUS FREEDOM ALLIANCE, AN ALLIANCE OF LIKE-MINDED NATIONS DEVOTED TO CONFRONTING RELIGIOUS PERSECUTION ALL AROUND THE WORLD. I’VE APPOINTED A SPECIAL ENVOY TO MONITOR AND COMBAT ANTI-SEMITISM, WE ARE STANDING UP FOR ALMOST 250 MILLION CHRISTIANS AROUND THE WORLD WHO ARE PERSECUTED.

IN RECENT TIMES THE WORLD HAS ALSO WITNESSED DEVASTATING ACTS OF VIOLENCE IN SACRED PLACES OF WORSHIP. IN 2016 AN 85-YEAR-OLD CATHOLIC PRIEST WAS VICIOUSLY KILLED WHILE CELEBRATING MASS IN NORMANDY, FRANCE. THE PAST YEAR THE UNITED STATES ENDURED HORRIFYING ANTI-SOMATIC ATTACKS AGAINST JEWISH AMERICANS AT SYNAGOGUES IN PENNSYLVANIA AND CALIFORNIA. IN MARCH, MUSLIMS PRAYING WITH THEIR FAMILIES WERE SADISTICALLY MURDERED IN NEW ZEALAND. ON EASTER SUNDAY THIS YEAR, TERRORISTS BOMBED CHRISTIAN CHURCHES IN SRI LANKA, KILLING HUNDREDS OF FAITHFUL WORSHIPERS . THESE PEOPLE ATTACKS ARE A WOUND ON ALL HUMANITY.

THE UNITED STATES IS FORMING A COALITION OF U.S. BUSINESSES FOR THE PROTECTION OF RELIGIOUS FREEDOM. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS BEEN DONE. THIS WILL ENCOURAGE THE PRIVATE SECTOR TO PROTECT PEOPLE OF ALL FAITHS IN THE WORKPLACE.

TOO OFTEN PEOPLE IN POSITIONS OF POWER PREACH DIVERSITY WHILE SILENCING OR CENSORING THE FAITHFUL. TRUE TOLERANCE MEANS RESPECTING THE RIGHT OF ALL PEOPLE TO EXPRESS THEIR DEEPLY HELD RELIGIOUS BELIEFS.

TODAY I ASK ALL NATIONS TO JOIN US IN THIS URGENT MORAL DUTY, WE ASK THE GOVERNMENTS OF THE WORLD TO HONOR THE ETERNAL RIGHT OF EVERY PERSON TO FOLLOW THEIR CONSCIENCE AND LIVE BY THEIR FAITH AND GIVE GLORY TO GOD. THE UNITED STATES HAS A VITAL ROLE IN THIS CRITICAL MISSION.
