RESTFUL AND FRUITFUL

My sweet daughter is always encouraging me to rest.  So as I think about what the word says about RESTING I also think about what the word says about bearing FRUIT.

Matthew 11:28 (KJV)
²⁸ Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Psalm 16:9 (KJV)
⁹ Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.

Psalm 37:7 (KJV)
⁷ Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

Psalm 116:7 (KJV)
⁷ Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the LORD hath dealt bountifully with thee.

We rest our souls in the Lord Jesus Christ and He brings Hope and patience and peace.

John 15:8 (KJV)
⁸ Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

¹⁶ Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

⁴³ For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

Galatians 5:22-23 (KJV)
²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
²³ Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Let us look at what all these scriptures are saying. We are told to rest and we are told to bear fruit.  The secret to bearing fruit is resting in the Love of God and what Jesus did on the Cross.  It is not what we do but what the Spirit of the Living God does through us that bears fruit.

John 15:4-5 (KJV)
⁴ Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
⁵ I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

That scripture is clear that we can do nothing without abiding in Jesus and letting Him abide in us.

Let your mind think of an apple tree, a pear tree, or pecan tree, etc.  These trees just stand there and bear fruit.  They do not worry and fret and try to bear fruit.  When the roots of the tree are good and go down into the good soil of the earth, they will bear fruit. If one of the branches is cut off and is just lying by itself, it cannot bear fruit.

In the same way if our roots go way into the soil of the word of God and we abide in Him, we will bear fruit and we will not have to worry on fret to do it.  We can rest.

The fruit trees do not strive, they just are. They abide where they are and the result is good fruit.  If we will cease from our striving and REST IN THE HOPE AND POWER OF THE ALMIGHTY GOD THAT RESIDES IN US, we will bear fruit, good fruit.

So we can rest and be fruitful at the same time as we abide in Him and allow Him to abide in us.  We can then ask, seek, and find everything we need or desire.

When we abide in Him the work we do for the Kingdom will be easy and light and will produce much fruit.

I encourage you to just rest in the presences of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords and just be His witnesses. Bear Fruit!!!

Father, in Jesus name I come to you and find rest for my soul. I release all that I am not to all that you are. Live through me and produce fruit and harvest for your Kingdom. I decree and declare that all who read this learn to abide in you and allow you to bear fruit through them.  Amen

Definition of perfect

1) being entirely without fault or defect :  flawless:  satisfying all requirements.

2) pure, total lacking in no essential detail:  complete:

My definition of perfect is that myself and each of my family and everything in each of our lives is “entirely without fault or defect, flawless, pure, total and complete in every way”.

That sounds a lot like heaven so I guess we must wait until we are in heaven to have everything around us and ourselves perfect.

There are some of us, like me who want to do everything perfect and never make mistakes and wrong choices. We strive to do all things well.   Woops!!!!!!! That is not possible.  No matter how hard we try we are human, in a flawed body, with human mistakes.

Some of us may really get bent out of shape when we do something really out of character or make mistakes.

Some of us may really get bent out of shape when our family’s lives hit rough spots or their jobs or relationships are not perfect.

This morning I want to share two things about this life in the world we live in!

FIRST: Jesus said…..

²⁸ Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
²⁹ Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
³⁰ For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

When we walk with Jesus we can rest in the knowledge that He is in control and He understands our humanity and our weaknesses, and He wants to make out load light.

SECOND: Having said that I believe that a lot of those who call themselves Christians use the fact that we are human and we are not perfect as an excuse to live below the level of life God intends for us.

Yes, we are human, but when we come to Jesus and allow Him to cleanse us and to fill us with His love and power we can begin to live life to its fullest. Jesus called it abundant life.

¹⁰ The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

² And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

¹² Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.

The enemy of your soul would have you make excuses for your life that is not dedicated to the Lord Jesus Christ. The enemy of your soul would have you excuse your sin and following the fleshly desires of your mind and body by saying, “oh well no one is perfect”.

May I tell you those excuses will not stand in light of the word of God. We are to allow Jesus to transform and renew our minds, wills and emotions so that we can follow the almighty God by releasing all that we are to Him and letting Him live through us.

Will we then be perfect…no, but our hearts will be pure before God as we bring each of our faults and failures and lay them at his feet.

The key is the condition of the heart.  Are we sincerely seeking to live right or are we looking for excuses to fulfill our own will.

GOD IS LOOKING AT THE HEART….WHAT DOES YOUR HEART LOOK LIKE?

YES YOU ARE HUMAN BUT YOUR HEART CAN BE PURE BEFORE THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY!!

Father, hear my heart this morning. I desire to Love, Act and be like Jesus. Cleanse me and fill me with your power and wisdom. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to you Lord God Almighty.  I pray that you will stir each heart that reads this to come in divine alignment with you word, your will and your way! In Jesus name I pray.  Amen

⁵¹ And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.

This story has always intrigued me. Blind Bartimaeus sat at the side of the rode begging.  When he heard Jesus was passing by he called out to Jesus in spite of people telling him to be quiet.

Jesus heard his cry, called out to him and he rose up and came to Jesus.  Then Jesus asked him the question in the scripture above: “What wilt thou that I should do unto thee?” or “What do you need or want from me?”

Of course Jesus knew what he wanted and needed. The man was blind and Jesus had been performing miracles everywhere.  Did Jesus think that he was going to ask for a new robe or sandals? Or maybe Jesus thought that he wanted to ask for money?

There is a deep lesson here if we will stop and consider this for a moment.  Jesus knew what the man needed but He wanted the man to truly know what he needed. You may say well of course Bartimaeus knew what he wanted for himself. But may I tell you that Jesus wanted him to speak it out. To hear himself confess what he wanted and needed.

I tell you this morning that Jesus wants us to be specific when we ask in prayer believing! He wants us to be specific because He wants us to know what we need or want.

So many times we do not even know what we need or want. We pray prayers such as “Lord Bless me and my family, Lord meet our needs.”

What does that mean?  What needs do you have, what do you need Him to do in the way of Blessing.  I call that kind of praying a “shot gun prayer”.

Where ever it lands I will accept it Lord.  Whatever happens I just go with it.  Listen to me, the God of the Universe Loves you and desires to give you good things.  Some of those shot gun prayers may result in good things but who knows.

²² And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

This scripture tells us that we can have what we ask and believe for but how can we believe for something when all we know is that we want to be Blessed, we want to have good things in life, we want to succeed.

Think about your child. He or she may come to you and say……I need a Blessing. Would you not ask what kind of Blessing: what do you need?  On the other hand if they came to you and said that they needed new tires on their car or a new winter coat, then you can say ok…let’s do that.

I believe that the purpose in asking God for specific things is so we will zero in on exactly what we need. God knows your needs and dreams but He wants you to know them.  He wants you to dig deep and decide what you really want Him to do.

I admonish you today to quit praying shot gun prayers and begin to zero in on what you really want God to do for you.  Tell Him your dreams and desires and needs and then leave it in His hands.

Don’t be slack in your praying by just using general request.  Begin to let the Spirit of the Living God stir up deep within you those things that you really want in life.

THEN PRAY SPECIFICALLY!!

We tend to get so surface with our prayers. We need to get real with the Father who Loves us more than we will ever know.  As we ask God to answer specific prayers we should understand that He is able to do the impossible.

⁴ Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

Father, thank you that you will give us the desires of our heart when we delight in you and ask specifically. May we always understand that Faith moves you hand and our words declare our Faith that you will do what you say!  May each of us examine our innermost being for the dreams and desires you have placed there and then begin to pray in Faith, believing you will bring it to pass.  I trust you Lord and I ask this in Jesus name.  Amen

There are some children’s toy people called WEEBLES!   For some reason this morning the commercial for these toy people is in my head.

The phrase:

“WEEBLES WOBBLE BUT THEY DON’T FALL DOWN!”

So let’s think about why they do not fall down.

Weebles are egg-shaped with a weight located at the bottom center and when pushed in different directions gravity pulls at this weight and it causes the Weeble to stand upright again.

Even though Weebles come in many different shapes this principle, which is called Mechanical Equilibrium, works every time.  It is a combination of some different forces within the Weeble.

This reminds me of the apostle Paul’s declaration in Acts.

²⁴ But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

Paul went through many difficulties, beatings, imprisonment, etc, but his declaration was that none of these things moved him.  Like the Weebles I am sure that Paul was discouraged and bent low at times but he bounced right back.

³ And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper..

A tree with good roots, planted by the river, may bend and blow around but will stand up straight again when the storm passes.

May I speak deep into your heart this morning that we are to be like the Weebles. We may wobble but we do not fall down.  None of these things move us.

Let’s look at how this is possible.

The Weeble is shaped like an egg. An egg represents life.  When we receive Jesus and allow Him to shape us we are walking in real life. This gives us the well rounded foundation to keep us upright.

Just as the Weeble has something within it to keep it upright we are to be grounded in the Word and our Relationship to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.  Then when we are bent low the pull of Spirit of God (like gravity) will stand us upright.

We must establish our strength in the Lord Jesus and in the Power of His might.

We must know who we are and whose we are and we must Trust and have confidence that He is our strength.

Then when the difficulties and situations of life hit…..when the phone call comes with bad news….or the Doctor gives a bad report…..or normal life problems hit…..we may bend but we will never break because we have Faith in the giver of life that He is Lord.  We can say through tears and grief…..”NONE OF THESE THINGS MOVE ME!”

WE MAY WOBBLE AND WE MAY LOOK LIKE WE HAVE LOST OUR SPIRITUAL EQUILIBRIUM, BUT DON’T DESPAIR, THE GREATER ONE IS IN US AND WE WILL STAND UPRIGHT AGAIN.

⁴ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

CHRISTIANS MAY WOBBLE BUT THEY DON’T FALL DOWN!!!

Father God, Creator of the Universe, thank you that you have placed within us the balance of your Word and Victory.  Thank you that we may weep and bend but your Love breaks through and we are strengthened and stand strong once again.  Touch each person who reads this with the knowledge that You Lord God are the greater one and you never leave us.  In Jesus name I pray.  Amen

 

Wobble if you must but Trust God and you will not fall down.

The ball is snapped and the play is on!

As we watched the Super Bowl Sunday night I was excited that our Atlanta team was there and even though they did not win, they played a very good game.

I do not normally watch football but since this was the game of games of course we were watching.

The first thing that struck me was that every player on that field had their place and their man to cover or try to get by depending on which side they were on.

Sometimes the players were on the offense and sometimes on the defense but each of them had a place to be and opposition to cover. So as a ball was caught the catcher could be brought down because he was covered by someone from the other team.

So think about that for a moment.  What if the players lined up on the field and there were 11 quarterbacks and no one to snap the ball or run it or protect the quarterback or receivers.  Or maybe there were 10 quarterbacks and the person snapping the ball but then no one was in the field to receive it.  The game would go nowhere with everyone trying to play in the same position.

Even though when we are on God’s Team we win in the end, we need to get in our position or the area God has anointed us for.

We need to know that in this life if we are always trying to see what the other person is doing or/and always trying to be something we are not we give the enemy space to cause problems.

What if the players on the offense Sunday night were lined up correctly but when the ball was snapped they just looked around to see where the ball was going.  What I noticed was that the ones on the front line just kept guarding the player they were in front of, not worried about where the ball was going.  The receivers were watching where the ball was being handed off or thrown.

What I am trying to say is that they were all in their place.

Are you in the place God has specifically called you to?

All the players are team members but they do not all have the same function. In the Christian Walk and in our local churches we are all on the same team but have different functions.

Are you frustrated in your Christian walk?  It may be because you are trying to do or be something God has not called you to.  Just because you can do something does not mean that you should do that.

On a football team there are things all the players do.  They exercise, practice, put on their uniforms, etc but in the game they get into different positions.

In the Christian walk there are things we all should do.  Be faithful to study the word, pray, and join with others in worship and fellowship.  But beyond that God has equipped you to fill a position to bring the Kingdom of God to this world.

God has created you on purpose for a purpose!

Father, In Jesus Name, I ask you to forgive us when we try to be who you have not called us to be.  Forgive us when we get sidetracked from our purpose and have our eyes on others.  Let our eyes be on you and our purpose line up with who we are created to be. Guide us with your peace and your direction. Fill us with your Love and Joy and may we live everyday as unto you, our Creator.  Amen

I remember when I was a little girl around 8 or so, I was sick with a cold.   I was on the sofa covered up with a blanket. The thing I remember about that is not how bad I felt but how good I felt when my Mother sat down beside me and began to spoon feed me chicken noodle soup. I do not remember what she said or even if she was smiling.  I just remember feeling loved and cared for. It was like I was wrapped in a cocoon of my Mother’s Love.

If you are a mother you understand the healing effects of chicken noodle soup but the real healing that day came in the touch of my mother’s hand.

May I tell you this morning that the being in the presence of the Spirit of the Living God feels like being wrapped in a cocoon of Love! When life is at its worse and it seems nothing is going right just begin to imagine Jesus Christ wrapping a blanket around you and giving you chicken noodle soup.

Let me say that the TOUCH OF THE MASTERS hand will change your life. It will turn your trials into triumphs, your defeats into victories and your fears into faith.

Most of us want to do what is right and live, laugh and love but life gets in the way.  It is the everyday grind of getting done the necessary things. I call it life 101.

But what we forget to take into consideration is that if we allow the Creator God of the universe to live in us and through us we can walk each day with the TOUCH OF THE MASTERS HAND.

There is a poem we have all probably heard about the auction of a violin and how the price went soaring when the master musician played that old violin.

This morning I want to tell you that when you allow the master carpenter control He will play out the days of your life with amazing Joy and Peace and you can bask in His Love.  The creator, the one who formed us, just knows how to make it all ok.

¹⁴ And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

In the above scripture Moses had just received an assignment from God to lead the children of Israel out of Egypt.   Notice who God said was sending him to them.

“I AM”

What the God of the Universe was saying to Moses and to us is:

I will be whatever you need me to be!!!  You finish the sentence.  Your sentence could be:

I am your healer,

I am your provider,

I am your wisdom,

I am your peace,

I am your warm blanket,

I am your companion,

What do you need? The one who can do the impossible and knows us inside and out says……..I am ……….

There is an advertisement on TV and Radio from a Real-estate broker.  It ends with:

“I want to, I can and I will.”

The one who created all things is saying to you today: I WANT TO, I CAN AND I WILL be anything you need.

Father, thank you that you are the Great I Am and you are all I need. If you don’t have it you will create it.  But thank you most of all for the blanket of Love that you surround me with.  May each person who reads this understand that the really important thing is not on the outside it is on the inside! I ask this in Jesus name.

As I was praying and making declarations over myself and my family, country and church this morning, it occurred to me one more time what a privilege it is to be able to communicate with the Creator God of the Universe!

God communed with Adam and Eve in the garden.  Then because they believed the lie of satan, that communion was broken.

But, may I tell you today that when Jesus was crucified and bore the sin of the entire human race, defeated death, hell and the grave and rose again to victory, we once again were given access to Father God, creator of all!

Let me ask you to think about that for a moment. Through accepting the price Jesus paid on the cross, we are once again able to have fellowship with the one who spoke the world into existence.

The one who can do anything: the one who can create what we need if it does not exist: not only will listen to us but desires to communicate.  He desires not only to hear but to answer.

The warmth that you feel deep inside you is the Spirit and Life of God in you.  The deep desires and dreams that stir deep inside you are coming from the Creator God.

He speaks to us deep in our innermost being through desires and deep down knowing.

He also speaks to us through His Word, the Bible.  When you hear or read the Bible (which is God’s Holy Word), and it stirs something deep within you, that is the Lord God Almighty speaking to you.

Now understand that for the Life of God to become active inside you, you must first believe and receive the price Jesus Paid on the Cross.  Each of us are created with a desire for the living God deep inside us but it is only through receiving the gift Jesus bought for us on the cross, that the life we desire is activated.

Then we can be led by those innermost promptings and desires.

What motivates you?  What voice are you listening to? The world is full of voices of all kinds, speaking all different things.

These voices assail our ears and our minds and satan also speaks through our ears and our minds. But when we release our minds, wills and emotions to the Lord God Almighty, we can shut out all the thoughts and suggestions of the worlds system.

One of my prayers each day is “Let this mind be in me which is in Christ Jesus My Lord!”

If we have the mind of Christ we will be guided correctly.  The enemy is sneaky. He will plant a small thought that seems harmless and then it gets into your spirit and then becomes an action that is harmful not only to you but to those around you.

Someone does something you do not like and you think about it and then It becomes an offense and from there a root of bitterness develops that becomes a stronghold.

There are many such examples but I cannot cover them all.  Just understand that the enemy of all that is good, the devil, does not like you, he hates you and his desire is to destroy you, or take your peace and joy.

But we have a Savior who loved more than we can comprehend and He will guide us in all ways!

Commune, Fellowship, Share: all of these are the things the Father desires with you.

What an honor and privilege it is to call HIM FATHER!!

²⁰ “Look at me. I stand at the door. I knock. If you hear me call and open the door, I’ll come right in and sit down to supper with you.

Father, in Jesus Name I come to you. I worship and adore you! I thank you for the redemption purchased on the cross.  Thank you that you commune with me. Thank you that I hear your voice, deep inside with gentle impressions.  You overwhelm me with your Love and Care. I ask that each person reading this desire to know you.  May we each commune with you in a very real way! You Lord God Almighty are from everlasting to everlasting.  Amen

Loveless                    Persecuted               Compromising

Corrupt                      Dead               Faithful                      Lukewarm

As you read the above words what caught your attention? Do you feel that any of these describe your life?

These are the descriptions of the seven churches that John wrote a message to in Revelation chapter two and three.  Jesus gave John a message to write to these seven churches that were in Israel.

The messages are relevant to our churches today and some scholars believe they also represent church ages or stages the church has gone through.

I believe that these churches can also represent our personal walk with God!

So this morning may I ask you to look at the seven words above and choose the one that describes your walk with the Lord God Almighty?

Jesus Christ died to give us eternal life and He lives to give us abundant life in the here and now.

Do you find yourself LOVELESS? I tell you that God so loved the world He gave and He will never leave us nor forsake us.  You are never Loveless or alone. Come to Jesus.

Do you feel PERSECUTED, like everyone is against you?  The word says “If God is for us who can be against us?” The word also says that “The battle is not ours but God’s.”

Are you COMPROMISING in your actions and deeds? We, as God’s children: His representatives here on earth: are to “come out from the world and be separate.” We live in the world but are not to be in it.  Satan desires to draw you from the purposes of God by enticing you to compromise.

Are your actions and deeds CORRUPT and sinful? Do you walk in rebellion to the truth of the spirit of the living God? Do you forget that God the Father gave His best and wants to Bless you and give you peace but He cannot Bless rebellion? The Word tells us “rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft!”

Do you feel DEAD deep in your innermost being? Have you allowed the things of this Social System and the cares of life to push down and bury the life of God and the dreams and desires He has placed in you? Jesus came to give you life in your innermost being!

Are you a FAITHFUL and willing child of Almighty God loving and serving Him with all that is in you?  Is your walk pleasing to God Almighty because you are Faithful to just Love God and Loves others?

Or do you find yourself LUKEWARM?  Are you not really running hard after God but you’re not walking far away from Him either. His word tells us to “Seek First the Kingdom of GOD!” We are to run this race of life with Jesus as our running partner. Be hot for the eternal things.

Whatever word best describes you may I tell you that Jesus is the answer to change. Come to Him with repentance of the things that are keeping you from the Faithful walk and let Him infuse you with the power, peace, joy and ability to run hard after Him with patience and endurance.

Throw off feelings of not being worthy or worthwhile and walk in your destiny.

If your word is Faithful, just know that God has a deeper understanding of His ways and a more Powerful future for you as you remain Faithful to His word and the desires and dreams that are alive within you.

I desire that today’s thoughts will propel you into a life of great peace and purpose!

I mentioned this last week at a small group at church but I want to expand a little on the caterpillar turning into a butterfly.

The information on this process is extensive but I just want to mention a few things.

A caterpillar begins as an egg.  Then the egg hatches and out comes a very small caterpillar.  The only thing this caterpillar does in this first stage is to eat so it can grow.

As this creature begins to grow it goes through five different stages.  At the final stage it has outgrown its last set of skin and comes forth as a butterfly.  This butterfly is free to soar above all the ugly of the world and is beautiful as it flies.

This beautiful butterfly then lays an egg and the process begins all over again.

May I tell you this morning that the process I just described can also be applied to our Christian walk!

The word of God is planted in our hearts just as an egg is laid.  Then when we accept Jesus as our Savior it is like the caterpillar is hatched from the egg.

Then we begin to grow in stages. The first being (just like the caterpillar) to feed. We learn and grow in the Lord through the knowledge of His word and the fellowship of His people.

Just like the caterpillar we then get stronger and shed different layers and develop new layers.

As we grow in the Lord there are dreams and desires within us that long to be free.

As we allow the Spirit of the living God to continue to grow us up we are then set free from the shell and soar high into the destiny we were created for.

We are then to go forth and spread the word which is like the butterfly laying eggs.

The process then starts over.

Where do you find yourself in this process?  It is possible, and happens often, to get stuck at a point in the process and then all the growth and the destiny stops.

Maybe this day you find yourself stuck somewhere between hatching and flying. You need to start feeding on the Word of God and shedding some excess junk.  You need to allow the butterfly to come forth and fulfill the dreams and desires deep within you.

Maybe you find yourself half out of that final skin but just cannot seem to shed it completely.  Call on the Lord Jesus: Praise and Worship Him and submit all that you are not to all He is and let Him remove the old skin.

We can never soar like the butterfly if we stay in the cocoon.  As a butterfly we can spread the Gospel as we continue to be more like Jesus.

The apostle Paul said it best as he described his journey:

¹⁴ I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

The prize of the high calling is to be like Jesus.  We will one day reach that mark when we see Him face to face but we should always press toward being like the one who gave His life for our salvation.

Grow, shed the confining skin and soar in the Power of the Holy Spirit and in the destiny on our life.

Father, I come to you in Jesus name. I decree and declare that I am shedding my old cocoon and am soaring high like the butterfly.  I decree and declare that you are stirring up within all who read this the desire to shed the old and go forward into the destiny you have for each of us. Let us feed on your word and grow in you each day. Thank you for Salvation and setting us free from the cocoon of the natural. Amen!

Yikes, I just typed today’s date with the year 2017.   That does not even compute. Two of my granddaughters had something they used to say back a few years ago. It was “Is this real life!”

So I ask myself this morning: “Is this real life”? Can we possibly be in the year 2017? On new year’s eve this weekend I did not stay awake until 12 midnight, my body said you need to go to bed and get sleep.  We had church on Sunday, New Year’s day but even if the year was changing on a night other than Saturday night, I don’t think I would have been able to stay up.  Up until a few years ago I would never have been in bed before ringing in the New Year. But real life does catch up with you, ha-ha!!

So Sunday morning my son-in-law, who was here from Va. Beach, said something that I want you to think about.  When I answered his question about whether I stayed up until midnight with a negative his statement was: the New Year comes whether we are up or not.

May I tell you this morning that God has a plan, a master plan, or PLAN OF THE MASTER, that He wants each of us to be a part of, and that master plan is happening whether we are sleeping through it, ignoring it or deciding to get in our place and be a part of it.

Now because my husband and I were sleeping through the change of years, the year still changed but there was no celebration in our house at midnight.

Let me tell you that even though God’s master plan will prevail there are areas of our immediate location and the world, and people in those locations, that will not be a part of the fulfillment of that plan because we as children of God are sleeping or just not interested in getting the good news of Jesus Christ to a world drowning in the lies of satan.

I tell you this day that you have a part to play in the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ to this earth and to the spread of the good news that the price has been paid and we can walk in a Peace that defies all logic or understanding.

YOU HAVE A PURPOSE!!!

When Saul, whose name was changed to Paul, had an encounter with the Lord Jesus, Jesus said to him:

¹⁶ But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;

When Barnabas came to Antioch and saw the new believers, Acts 11:23 shows us that he instructed them to cleave to the Lord and His purpose.

²³ Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.

This morning, on the third day of a brand new year, I encourage you to seek God with your whole heart and let Him release through you the purpose and destiny you were created for.

Maybe you are all into the purpose you were created for but may I tell you that God seeks to do more in your life. He seeks to take you to greater levels of purpose and ministry. He desires for you to keep growing and climbing to higher and higher purposes in Him.

As we release ourselves into the mighty hand of God and to His purposes we can change our world and see His Kingdom prevail in 2017.

God has a plan that is traveling on. Are we a part of it or are we sleeping.

Wake up and be all you were created to be!

Father, thank you that each of us are created on purpose and for a purpose. Thank you that 2017 is going to be the year that many of your children find and walk in their purpose and those who are walking in their purpose are going to greater dimensions with you. I decree and declare that each person who reads this will awaken to all that you have place within them and will arise and walk with confidence into 2017. I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ.  Amen

2017 will be amazing!
