“You can please some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time, but you cannot please all of the people all of the time!”

I am sure some of you have heard that all your adult life, but it is true in our lives and in our churches.

How many of us spend our lives trying to please someone else. We worry what others will think and depend on other people for deciding our worth.

We let the opinion of others guide us instead of following what the Lord God Almighty says and leave the results to Him.

Jesus did what the Father would do. He communicated with the Father and paid no attention to the expectations of others.

We wear ourselves out trying to please everybody. We get frustrated because we cannot get everything that people want us to do done.

How many are working so hard to please their employer, they neglect God and Family.

Do not get me wrong. I believe we should work, take care of our families, do all we can for the kingdom of God.

But we need to let God lead us what to say no to and what to say yes to.

Our busy lives should never cause us to neglect the Word of God and Prayer and spending time in God’s presence.

If we are spending time in the Word and Prayer, we will have rest and direction that will cause us to accomplish much more than we can accomplish as we rush here and there neglecting the very thing we need.

Jesus said in Matthew 6

Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Look closely at that! Seek First means to put our time with Him in the Word and in Prayer, first. Then you will have wisdom and direction for everything else.

Many of us interpret that to mean go, do, try to fulfill everything that is asked or expected of us! That is not what this scripture says.

When we seek God first. He will show us the things He has planned for us.

I know people who seemingly cannot say no and end up weary, frustrated and dreading each day because there are not enough hours in the day.

2 Thessalonians 3:13 (KJV)
But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.

The only way that we will not become weary in well doing and in the good things we can do is when we spend time in Father God’s presence.

Jesus, who was the word and wisdom in the flesh, took time to come aside and talk and listen to the Father!

How do we think we can run through our days and not stop and get refreshing and direction from the one whose plan is perfect.

Luke 6:12 (KJV)
And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.

Mark 6:46 (KJV)
And when he had sent them away, he departed into a mountain to pray.

We use a GPS to show us how to get to unfamiliar places and which way is the best and unrestricted.

And yet we try to navigate this life that carries us to unfamiliar places we need guidance through, on our own wisdom and power.

May we understand the Fathers plans are amazing, but we must know His plans for this world we live in and individual plans for our lives.

Then we can walk in peace and calm and victory every day.

WHO ARE YOU TRYING TO PLEASE!

________________________________________

Father. I come in Jesus’ name and ask you to touch each of us with the desire to follow your plan and only seek to please you. Help us to understand the power of your word and time spent in your presence in our lives. and our abilities to do all you have planned for us to do. You have written our story! May we live in the way you wrote it. We trust you and follow you, Amen.

Just Please Jesus!

“CROWN’S!”

Me-Maw Thoughts

Number 735

May 13, 2025///

This morning, I went to “Strong Rock Christian Academy, to see my great-granddaughter be promoted from Elementary School to Middle School.

As they began chapel, I watched as an auditorium filled with boys and girls from kindergarten through fifth grade begin to worship with songs of learning, like the books of the bible and the stories of old and then songs of praise that they were all into, in this time with the Lord!

The Holy Spirit impressed on my heart that these are the leaders of our world if it stands and whether they follow it or not they have been taught and know who Jesus is!

As they began to give out awards for different things you could see on each child’s face, the joy of the award they were getting.

My great-granddaughter received several awards but the most prized award she received was a beautiful trophy given each year by the founders of Strong Rock to one 5th grader, one 8th grader, and one 12th grader.

There were awards for different things and I began to think of the award of crowns that the Bible teaches us will be given when we stand before almighty God.

We will take the Crowns and worship Jesus by laying them at His feet because it is His power living in us that keeps us and allows us these Crowns.

I cannot cover all the types of Crowns that will be given but I want to show you a few verses about them!

2 Timothy 4:8 (KJV)

Henceforth there is laid up for me a CROWN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

First of all, if we believe and receive who Jesus is we are clothed with righteousness through and through and will receive that crown!

Revelation 20:12 (KJV)

And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

We will stand before God and receive crowns to lay at Jesus feet according to the way we used all that God gave us: talents, abilities, opportunities, and operating in the Fruit of the Spirit”!

1 Peter 5:4 (KJV)

And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a CROWN OF GLORY that fadeth not away.

James 1:12 (KJV)

Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the CROWN OF LIFE, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

There is more in the Bible about Crowns, but the point is what are we doing with what we have been given!

God does not expect you to do the same thing every one else is doing! He knows who you are, and He created you with a purpose and desires you live your best life by giving all you are to Him, to Bless and multiply, as you do the best you can for Him with what you have!

When we live life like that, we will one day hear that we were “Good and Faithful servants”!

Yes, we will receive crowns but we need to do our best for Him so others will see and be led to live their best lives by acknowledging Him as Lord! That is our Best reward!

We will lay our crowns at the feet of the one who made it all possible, as we worship the Lord of Lords and King of Kings!

Father, thank you that each of us are walking in the purpose we are created for. Lead us in your way every day and we give you Honor, Praise, and Worship you with all we are! I ask this in Jesus’ name! Amen!

“THE YELLOW BRICK ROAD!”

Me-Maw Thoughts

Number 734

May 6, 2025//

Our great granddaughter was recently in a local kid’s production of “The Wizard of Oz.”

I have always thought that there was so much truth we can learn found in this adventure and I wanted to share some of those with you this morning!

Before I get to the main thought, I want to remind you of the water that destroyed the wicked witch! The Bible teaches us “The Water of the Word is Powerful” and just as the water destroyed the wicked witch of the west, the water of the word defeats the enemy of all that is good every time!

And just as Dorothy and Toto kept going down the yellow brick road despite all the setbacks and interferences, we need to keep walking toward our goal of eternity with Jesus!

The main part of the story shows us needs: Dorothy needed to get back to Kansas, the scarecrow needed a brain, the tin man a heart, and the lion needed courage!

I ask you today: what do you need? Are you going to where you think you may find what you need? Is it success, health and healing, good relationships, wisdom, peace, a family, or any other thing that drives us to keep going?

Do you feel stuck like the Tin Man, Scarecrow and Lion and think things will never change? Are you stressed like Dorothy and think you may never get back to where you belong?

Well, I have good news for you! You do not have to stay where you are not supposed to be and on the way to your destination you can help others have hope that they can find what they need!

They had to overcome many obstacles that hindered them but also had the angel on their side, and she helped them along the way!

We have a Heavenly Father who is watching us and helping us as we walk toward our goal.

When they got to Emerald City they actually found, as we can find in Jesus, that they had what they needed. They needed something to change their thinking.

Many times, we need to change our thinking!

The Lion received a badge that reminded him of who he was and that caused the courage that was in him to come forth!

The Scarecrow received a certificate that showed him that he had a brain, and this helped him draw forth the knowledge he had!

The Tin Man needed a heart and was given a heart to hold which showed him, he had a heart all along he just needed to possess it!

Then Dorothy thought she was going to be helped back to Kansas by the wizard, but got left behand and thought she would never see her family again!

But then she was told all she had to do was to click the heels of her slippers together and she would be home and that is exactly what happened!

The thing I see in all of this is that each of us has what we need to be what we were created to be and where we are supposed to be!

The Bible teaches us through the word we are “Bold as a Lion,” “Have the mind of Christ,” “Have joy and peace in our hearts,” and when we follow God’s instruction we are “Where we need to be”!

What do you need in your life today? I encourage you to find a scripture that applies to your situation and began to speak that out and find all you need in Jesus and in the Word of God we are given as a roadmap.

What yellow brick road are you following to get you what you want? Stop! Understand you have within you all you need to be who you were created to be!

We must also understand that as we journey on this road called life we can stop and help others come to Jesus and see who they really are and bring forth all they were created with!

Philippians 4:13 (KJV)

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Philippians 2:5 (KJV)

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Know who you are and be all you were created to be!

————————————————————————-

Father, I come in the Name of Jesus and thank you that you give us wisdom in our minds, a heart after you, and courage to stand for right, and the knowledge of who we are in you and who we are created to be! Bless, with every good and perfect gift, each one who reads this! Amen!

“POSITIVE VS NEGATIVE!

Me-Maw Thoughts

Number 733

April 29, 2025///

Animals look at things in different ways and prefer different things! The birds love spring, and the polar bears Cherish the cold! Sharks dwell in the ocean and the lions and tigers in the jungle!

People are the same way! Some love cold or hot and some the temperature of fall and spring! We may like Mexican, Italian, Japanese, good old fashion country cooking! Or a combination of different types!

Whatever our way of looking at life it affects others. We may endure the cold or heat to accommodate others. In our church we have those with various temperature preferences and each of us accommodate others by adjusting. I am cold natured so I have a shawl that I can use in a service when the temperature is low, and others may fan when it is high!

My point is what we do and who we are affects those around us and that includes our attitudes! We all know those who are always negative and others who are always positive and each of us have been affected by those attitudes displayed.

Let’s look at the opposite attributes and actions we display!

Positive vs Negative

Faith vs Fear

Love vs Hate

Hope vs Despair

Forgiveness vs Revenge

Redemption vs Regret

Encouragement vs Criticism

Joy vs Self-pity

Peace vs Turmoil

Of course, the first of each of these is the preferred life!

If we walk positive in faith, love, hope, and forgiveness, and understand our past is behind us and we are redeemed, we will be encouraging others and overcoming adversity with Joy and Peace!

When we do our best to walk in this way, we will show others there is a better way to live!

However, living this way on a regular basis depends on how we see ourselves!

If we see ourselves as always less than enough, or always as the old saying goes, getting the short end of the stick! If we see ourselves defeated or that we are stuck, as we are, where we are we will portray the opposite of positive things!

The only way to know who we are is to know who we were created to be by the Lord God Almighty!

In the bible in 1 Peter 2:9 we are called Royal and a Priest and Holy!

1 Peter 2:9 (KJV)

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

1 Peter 2:9 (TPT)

But you are God’s chosen treasure —priests who are kings, a spiritual “nation” set apart as God’s devoted ones. He called you out of darkness to experience his marvelous light, and now he claims you as his very own. He did this so that you would broadcast his glorious wonders throughout the world.

The positive life we desire only comes from the knowledge deep inside that we are created on purpose and for a purpose and our God will work all things for our good and His Glory!

The way to begin is to acknowledge Jesus died on the cross for us and speak out that belief and ask Him to guide you in all you do! The peace that comes with surrender is real!

_____________________________________________________________

Father, thank you for who each of us are in you! May we understand we are royalty. May we allow the peace that passes understanding to fill us until it overflows! The peace the world or nothing in it can give! I ask in the name of Jesus Christ! Amen!

“PERFECT PRAISE!”

Me-Maw Thoughts

Number 732

April 22, 2025///

When my great-grandchildren run to me and hug me it is an amazing feeling of Love that can only be felt. It is like praise to who we are and balm for us if we are weary!

When you hear and see a group of children singing “Jesus Loves Me,” or other sweet songs of faith, you see pure trust, adoration and love on their faces and hear the trust and belief in their voices.

As we grow, sometimes we lose that part of us that truly trust and that praises God with pure praise for who He is and His goodness to us!

A couple of days ago, we celebrated the resurrection of Jesus Christ which is the greatest event in the history of the Christian Church.

But I want us to look a week earlier on what we call Palm Sunday when Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a humble donkey to the noise of praise for who He is!

As the children were singing and praising Him, the Pharisees were indignant and called Jesus out for allowing it. Jesus’ response was to remind them of a scripture about children’s praises!

Jesus responded:

Matthew 21:16 (KJV)

And said unto him, Hearest thou what these say? AND JESUS SAITH UNTO THEM, YEA; HAVE YE NEVER READ, OUT OF THE MOUTH OF BABES AND SUCKLINGS THOU HAST PERFECTED PRAISE?

This was taken from an Old Testament Psalm:

Psalm 8:2 (KJV)

Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength

Because of thine enemies,

The Passion translation says it this way:

Psalm 8:2 (TPT)

You have built a stronghold by the songs of babies.

Strength rises up with the chorus of singing children.

This kind of praise has the power to shut Satan’s mouth.

Childlike worship will silence the madness of those who oppose you.

The sweet praise of children is perfect praise. What exactly is perfect Praise?

Websters Dictionary gives these definitions for perfect:

Wow, what does it take to praise our Lord perfectly? Can we?

I believe we can as we allow Jesus to lead us, guide us, and be our very best friend. We can have clean hands and a pure heart and that will produce a life that is trusting the one who loves us and is well able to do whatever needs to be done!

As we let our minds center on the truth that the God of the Universe, the creator God, loves us and knows us inside out and wants to Bless us in Spirit, soul, and body, we begin to understand we can truly trust Him!

As the passion translation so powerfully puts it, perfect praise has the power to shut satan’s mouth. The whispers of doubt the enemy is so good at will fade when we think on who God really is and who He is in us!

I pray you will join me in coming to the Father and worshipping Him with a pure heart and perfect Praise!

Our Praise is a weapon, and our Perfect Praise is an arsenal of Power!

Let us have childlike Faith and Praise!

___________________________________________

Father in Jesus’ name I come and ask you to fill each of us full of the understanding of who You are and who You are in us. Give us a pure heart full of childlike trust that we can praise you with Perfect Praise and change the world around us! Amen!

Perfect Praise!

“CELEBRATE JESUS”

Me-Maw Thoughts

Number 731

April 15, 2025//

This week, the week before the Christian Freedom Celebrations, I want to share some information I shared last year. It needs repeating!

***********************************************************************************

Me-Maw Thoughts/ Number 677/ April 2, 2024

EASTER: a Christian holiday celebrating Christ’s resurrection that is observed on the first Sunday following the first full moon on or after March 21

The most important and oldest festival of the Christian Church, celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ and held (in the Western Church) between March 21 and April 25, on the first Sunday after the first full moon following the northern spring equinox.

So, there are no surprises there! We all understand that the resurrection is vital to the Christian Faith! Many of us call it resurrection Sunday!

But what does the egg have to do with it? I have heard some discussions during this season about the easter eggs and why would Christians celebrate with eggs and is it a pagan thing.

I did a little research and want to share some things I found with you!

Easter eggs have been a part of Christian tradition for centuries, and they represent many important aspects of the faith.

The egg shape symbolizes Jesus’s resurrection, while the color of the egg can be a reminder of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross.

Decorating Easter eggs is an enjoyable activity that allows families to express their creativity and share in the joy of this special holiday.

Eating Easter eggs is also a meaningful ritual that symbolizes new life and hope. For example, when I was growing up, my mom would always give us a hard-boiled egg on Easter morning as a reminder to have faith no matter what comes our way.

Through these rituals and symbols, Christians are reminded of Jesus’s death and resurrection and how it changed our lives forever.

The egg shape of Easter is a reminder of the Holy symbolism and spiritual meaning associated with Easter in Christianity. It symbolizes new life, renewal, and hope for believers as they look forward to Jesus Christ’s resurrection from the dead.

The hard shell of an egg can be seen as representing the tomb Jesus was laid in for three days before he rose again.

The eggs also represent fertility, which is why eggs were traditionally given as gifts during Easter. This symbolizes the promise of abundance and prosperity that comes from faith in Jesus Christ.

The colorful decorations on Easter eggs are also representative of God’s creativity and the beauty He brings into our lives.

Easter eggs have long been a symbol of celebration in Christianity. The egg, when cracked open, is said to represent new life in Christ’s resurrection. The egg’s rich symbolism is integral to the Easter holiday and its traditions.

___________________________________________

These facts were interesting to me, and I pray they help you understand the reason we as Christians celebrate with eggs.

Saturday, I watched kids by the hundreds participating in an easter egg hunt of 13,000 eggs at our church! Knowing there were gifts inside these eggs they did not waste any time.

As I observed this it came to me that they were like the world searching for something to satisfy and that only comes through Faith in Jesus Christ!

Yes, things and events will satisfy for a short while but only Jesus truly satisfies no matter the circumstances.

In this week following the resurrection celebrations, let us hold fast to the truth of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, who came as a living expression of God’s Love for His creations, and remember we are here on earth for a reason!

We must never forget the message, whether presented from pulpit or through an egg, that the angel declared in Mark 16:6:

Mark 16:6 (TPT)

But the angel said to them, “Don’t be afraid. I know that you’re here looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. HE ISN’T HERE—HE HAS RISEN VICTORIOUSLY! Look! See the place where they laid him.

Father, thank you for the resurrection and life in Jesus! May we understand that Jesus lived and died and was resurrected that each of us can have Peace, Joy, and a spirit of ease in the midst of a world that seems to be out of control! Thank you for the Peace that passes all understanding, and that the world cannot give. May we celebrate this not only on resurrection Sunday but every day of the year for the rest of our time here on earth! I ask this in Jesus’ name! Amen!

Love, MeMaw!

I pray this repeat was a Blessing and informative! Have an amazing Easter, as we celebrate all Christ did for us!

“INVENTIONS!”

Me-Maw Thoughts

Number 730

April 8, 2025///

Yesterday early morning I got a weather alert on my phone. A tornado was in the area!

I tuned into a local news station on my computer and watched as specific streets were named where the rotation was, and times were projected for when this turmoil would reach different towns.

As I was praying for protection, I was also very aware of the giant steps technology and inventions have taken since I was a child and before!

Lives are saved because we are now able to track storms down to the very second!

Look back at transportation. We get into our cars and turn the key, and it begins to run. Some of you do not even need a key, you push a button on a little pod in your hand and your car cranks before you get in!

Before this, cars had to be cranked by turning a handle in the front of the car and before that there were horses and buggies.

We go to ATM’s and withdraw money or even make deposits over our phones!

We have cell phones, computers, Fitbit watches, Bluetooth phone connections and electricity to power or charge all of it!

We are blessed with electricity that powers so much of our lives.

We can talk or what is called facetime with those down the street, someone thousands of miles away or in a totally different country!

We can buy things by swiping a card and technology has made it possible to shop for anything from toothpaste to cars and houses online! The internet is an amazing door to both bad and good but was invented or discovered to be used for good!

Consider washers, dishwashers, hot and cold running water and central heat and air!

And a man has stepped on the moon!

There are heart and kidney transplants and medical knowledge that defies logic!

I could continue but I want to point out the reason we have all these awesome conveniences and amazing things in our lives!

Whether the inventers or discoverers honor God or not, all creations, inventions, and great ideas, come from Him!

Jesus was God’s love letter in the flesh sent to show us how much He Loves us!

Jesus was from the beginning with God and was a part of creation. We are never more like Jesus than when we are being creative, whether in our homes, our workplace, with music, writing, or an unfathomable number of other things!

You were created to create! All good things come from God above who spoke everything we see into existence!

People may take credit for their knowledge, wisdom, and ideas, but it originates with the Creator God!

Look at these two scriptures of many in God’s Word!

1 Corinthians 2:16 (KJV 1900)

For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? BUT WE HAVE THE MIND OF CHRIST.

Philippians 2:5 (KJV 1900)

LET THIS MIND BE IN YOU, WHICH WAS ALSO IN CHRIST JESUS:

What a promise to those who believe. We can have ideas, direction, and the courage to do what seems impossible as we realize we are created with a spirit of creativity in us!

Some who have invented or discovered do not acknowledge God, but some do. Some understand all knowledge comes from the Creator God.

I challenge each of us today to begin to let the creator of the universe stir up the creative ideas and abilities and talents within us!

A mother came up with vegetables as characters to entertain and teach her children, and the “Vegie Tales” were born. These videos have cemented the principles of God’s word in children everywhere!

I am grateful for every invention or ideas that makes our life easier, but I am more grateful for a God who created each of us with a creative spirit. May we open our hearts to the creativity God has placed in us!

_____________________________________________

Father, In Jesus’ name I come with a grateful heart that we were created on purpose and for a purpose and you have put a creative spirit in each of us. May we let you lead us to use it to its fullest! Nothing is impossible for you! Amen!

“FORGETTING

Me-Maw Thoughts

Number 729

April 2, 2025///

Help me not feel so bad about the fact that I forgot to do MeMaw Thoughts this morning. I had to be reminded!

So, think about what you have forgotten in the last week. Where was something? Who were you supposed to call? Or maybe where you were supposed to be!

Have you ever forgotten a family member’s birthday?

Or this one that happens to all of us: someone’s name!

Some of the things we forget are not so important, some will change our life, (like a job interview)! But all are frustrating and some are embarrassing!

As we grow older, we may forget more easily or if we have a lot on our minds we can forget!

But the most life effecting thing to forget is prayer and Bible reading and meditating on what the Word says!

Do we remember that the most important part of our day is when we give time to praise our creator and bring our day and our ways before Him?

If we forget this, it changes our life in the worst way! We cannot hope to do as much, as good, or as quickly, when we leave off the most important thing in our lives!

Trying to navigate life by ourselves is the hardest place we can find! But a day given to the Lord Jesus to honor and show His love to others is a life worth living!

But the good news is, God our Father and Jesus Christ our Savior knows where we are and never forgets us! Even if we have not given Him our day, if we call on Him at anytime of the day or night, He hears and He is with us!

May we look at a couple of the many scriptures in the word that bear this out!

Hebrews 13:5 (KJV)

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Jeremiah 33:3 (KJV)

Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

Call Him, remember Him, never forget He is with you and will lead you in everything you do.

What comfort to know when we forget something important, those who love us forgive and love us anyway!

God loves us more than we can imagine and when we call on Him, He is forgiving that we have forgotten to spend time with Him for three days in a row or longer! He is there and He listen to our prayers even if it just “HELP”!

Just imagine your child forgetting his or her lunch or lunch money! Forgetting to give you a note from the teacher or forgetting to walk the dog or brush his or her teeth!

We could name hundreds of forgetful things about our children, and we may be concerned, but we will take the lunch or lunch money to the school, go to the school and talk to the teacher concerning the note we did not get on time, and begin to remind him or her to walk the dog or brush their teeth!

The point is they are still our child, and we love them forgetfulness and all!

You are God’s child, and He loves you, but He waits lovingly for you to take time to just fellowship and talk to Him and learn from His Word!

Psalm 73:28 (KJV)

But it is good for me to draw near to God:

I have put my trust in the Lord God,

That I may declare all thy works.

Don’t forget the most important, life-changing time you can spend!

Don’t forget who knows you best and loves you most!

___________________________________

Father, forgive us when we forget you. May each of us understand that you want to be part of every second of every day! Help us to show you our Love by spending time in your presence and letting you show us your Love! In Jesus name I pray! Amen!

“SATISFACTION!”

Me-Maw Thoughts

Number 728

March 25, 2025///

Have you noticed that when we get something we want, we want more of it? We may lose the five pounds we were trying to lose and now we want to lose 10 more. We may have enough money and more to pay our bills, but we want more money!

We may want better and better health or more children, or a different job or career. We may desire to be the boss instead of following the boss’s instruction.

Have you desired a certain food and then wanted more and more of it? What about something new in our house or something new to wear, or a more exciting vacation?

Some of these wants are good or at least ok, but satisfaction seems to be in the next step in our wants!

Consider with me, your wants! And then narrow that down to your needs. What do you actually need in your life! What do you need, not what do you want!

I want to share some thoughts I had this morning on “NEEDS, DESIRES, AND SATISFACTION”!

We are to speak our needs to our heavenly Father in prayer as we thank Him that He will supply each need we have.

Philippians 4:19 (KJV)

But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

We may not see any way, but if we Trust that promise from the word, our needs will be supplied.

What do you need today? Is it physical, financial, relational? Maybe it is a hurting child to be comforted, or direction for the next step in handling a problem.

Ask and don’t give up and the supply will be given!

But God’s promises do not stop there. We must take hold of the promises in His word and claim them as our own. God, who can do all things has promised more than just our needs!

Mark 11:24 (KJV)

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

God has promised when we pray and believe He will give us what we desire.

Does that mean that we can ask for a mansion and get it or a million dollars and get it? Read on, I am getting to that.

What about satisfaction? Do you know those who are never satisfied? Maybe that is you. Do you overlook all the good things your child has done and focus on the one thing they did wrong? Do you overlook the Blessings the Father has bestowed on you and focus on the one thing that is hard in your life.

The word tells us to be content!

Philippians 4:11 (KJV)

Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.

Psalm 145:16 (KJV)

Thou openest thine hand,

And satisfiest the desire of every living thing.

Now let us pull all this together. The promise is God will supply our needs, our wants, and our desires and satisfies us.

Does that mean that we can just ask for anything and it will be honored. Let’s look at the verse that gives us the key.

MATTHEW 6:33 (KJV)

BUT SEEK YE FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD, AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS; AND ALL THESE THINGS SHALL BE ADDED UNTO YOU.

When we seek Him first everything else will take second place and we will not be asking for things out of his will. Remember it is His will to heal, to bless, to supply and satisfy, but it comes when we are content in our relationship with Him and live our lives with an eternal mindset.

When we seek Him first, we find He is enough. But He delights in giving us abundance in every area of our lives!

I encourage you to examine your desires in light of eternity!

Me-Maw thoughts

March 18, 2025///

In Georgia as in other states we had some stormy weather this past weekend. Ours came in the late-night Saturday night and into early Sunday morning.

There were Tornado warnings and a tornado with 110 miles an hour wind came through the County and the town our son and his family live in. It was on the ground there for about 12 miles.

There was a lot of damage even as close as a mile from my son’s family’s home.

But they had no damage except a few panels blew off the green house they have. But they just blew across the street and were not damaged and my son was able just to put them back on.

I was thinking about the prayers we were praying for protection of all we knew as the reports earlier in the week warned of the coming storms.

In other areas of the state massive tress, power lines, etc. were on houses and cars and roads were blocked and things in some parts of Georgia were a mess. Unlike some other states we had no deaths due to the storm.

My mind went to the fact that within ourselves we have no authority over storms and destruction.

Our only weapon against the weather is prayer and trusting that whatever happens, God can turn it around for our good and His glory. But we must pray with faith and trust the one who loves us to protect us.

We all know that bad things happen to good people, but we must do our part to pray and worship and trust no matter what.

My question to you is, “IF WITHIN OURSELVES WE CANNOT CONTROL THE WEATHER, WHY DO WE THINK WE CAN HANDLE ANY OF OUR LIFE BY OURSELVES”?

We think we can do it, and our way is the right way. The old song by Evis Presley comes to mind! “I DID IT MY WAY”!

We think we know what is best and it sometimes works for a while, but the better way is to lean on the one who can control not only the weather but all things in our lives.

My encouragement to you is to pray about everything. What does that mean? Well, I pray about a parking place, to find what I need, favor with a customer service call as well as for those who are hurting and sick and trying to handle things their way. I pray by name for my family, church family and friends.

I ask again, why do we think we can handle our lives on our own? The creator God who created the universe and created us knows exactly what we need and will guide us in the best way with the best outcome!

Every decision should be guided by Him. Every care lifted to Him and every frustration we should lay at His feet in prayer.

Friends, it brings me to tears when I think about how even as Christians, we do not take everything to the Lord in Prayer. We become so stubborn and set in our ways that we think we have the right moves!

But may I tell you that it is the Lord God Almighty that knows the right way and the statement, “GODS GOT THIS,’ is absolutely true as we release it to Him.

Let go and let God guide all you do every day in every way!

When the storms of life rage, and when life seems to fall apart, in Jesus you are safe, and he will handle it.

Leaning on Him, and admitting we are weak, but He is Strong, we are His Beloved and can trust the one who loves us best, gives us security and peace that cannot be bought!

Remember the scripture, “I can do all things THROUGH CHRIST WHICH STRENGTHENS ME’!

THROUGH CHRIST STRENGTH IS WHERE WE NEED TO LIVE! NOT OUR STRENGTH!

Father, I come in the name of Jesus Christ and thank you that you will take the wheel of our life as we release everything and everyone in it to your Lordship. Help us to walk in complete trust in who you are and who you are to us. Loving Heavenly Father, you do everything well! Amen!

Trust and obey, for there’s no other way to be truly happy! Love, MeMaw!
