Me-Maw Thoughts
Number 726
March 11,2025///
I had a plan for today’s memaw thoughts but wanted a specific list to insert in it today! But as I was searching for the list, I ran across a MeMaw Thoughts from March of last year that just stirred me in my spirit. I am just reprinting it for today’s thoughts and ask that you read it carefully and ponder it in your mind and heart! Don’t forget, I love you and Jesus does too!

I am not into football, but I heard on the news that Kirk Cousins signed a four-year contract with the Atlanta Falcons for 180 million dollars. That is million with an m.
That does not even compute in my brain.
However, it brought to mind something that was on my granddaughters’ face book page back on February 20th. It is worth printing here.
Some of you would have read it on her page but most have not. Even if you have seen this it is worth a second, third, and fourth, read. Let the truth sink deep in your heart!

The following is the philosophy of Charles Schulz, the creator of the ‘Peanuts’ comic strip.
You don’t have to actually answer the questions. Just ponder on them. Just read it straight through, and you’ll get the point.
1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.
2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.
3. Name the last five winners of the Miss America pageant.
4. Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.
5. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor and actress.
6. Name the last decade’s worth of World Series winners.
How did you do?
The point is none of us remember the headliners of yesterday. These are not second-rate achievers. They are the best in their fields.
But the applause dies.
Awards tarnish.
Achievements are forgotten.
Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners.
Here’s another quiz. See how you do on this one:
1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.
2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.
3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.
4. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special.
5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.
Easier?
The lesson:
The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money … or the most awards. They simply are the ones who care the most.

I wonder, will I be remembered for caring for people.
Fifteen years from now will anyone remember who Kirk Cousins is?
But fifteen years from now how many hurting children, searching teens, struggling single parents, and discouraged souls, will you have lifted with a smile, a touch, a hug, a gift, a call, a card.
Your worth is not in your successes in the world’s eyes, but in the Love of Jesus Christ flowing from you to others.
I pray the Kirk Cousins of the world will give God glory for the talents He has blessed them with and use the money to help those who need a lift.
But the real question is: Do I care and show it?
1 John 4:11 (KJV 1900)
Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

Father, I ask that you fill each of us with such care for others that we make a difference in the lives around us each day. Help us to see the needs and show your Love through our caring actions. May we understand that caring is living from an eternal perspective. Fill us with compassion and love for others as only you can give us. I ask this in the name of Jesus, that wonderful, amazing name. Amen!
Love, MeMaw!
