I do not like bugs of any kind, form or fashion.  We pay a fee to have our house treated for insects, etc.

Well????? Sunday morning as I was getting out of the shower behold!!!! Crawling across the bathroom floor was the largest bug I had ever seen. To use a phrase from the Christmas movie Elf…it was gynormous.

I then proceeded to watch this bug as I got toilet paper to catch it with.  When I would get close the bug would run to another wall under the edge of the counter or something and then be very still.

What that amazing little bug did not realize was that from my position high above I could see everywhere it went. It was never out of my sight.  My eyes were seeing all the places it was running to and hiding at.

Yes I got the bug. But at the time I was faithfully watching to see where it was going the Holy Spirit impressed deep within me that just as I was watching the bug. He is constantly watching us.  But as opposite to what I was trying to do the Father is watching us to help us and send all different kinds of angels to minister to us.

Absorb these scriptures: Think about them: Let them get into your Spirit…the life within you.

I have good news this morning.  We are not alone in this journey of life. The eyes of the creator God is always on us and always watching us. His help is for our asking. He cares about every little thing in our life.  He desires for us to have Joy….Joy does not depend on circumstances.  Joy depends on who we know we are.

Are you a child of almighty God through Jesus Christ?  Do you realize that the eyes of the Lord God Almighty are on you and the host of heaven stand ready to help. All we have to do is ask and believe.

Whisper the name of Jesus and all of heaven stands at attention.

Remember that we are never alone.  All around us people may forsake us, but God has His eyes on us.  Call on Him.  Speak the name of Jesus.

We do not have to do life by our self.  We do not have to make decisions alone. We have a Heavenly Father who sees us and Loves us without measure.

An old song says it best. Here is part of it:

Father in Jesus name I come to you.  How foolish we are when we depend on our own abilities to run this race called life.  You see us and you are ready, able, and willing to step in whenever we call on you.  Forgive us our failures and faults Lord God Almighty and fill us with the security that comes from leaning on your everlasting arms. Mercy is Love and His Love endures or never quits.  This 136 Psalm goes on in the next 16 verses expressing the things God had done for Israel ending each verse with “His mercy or love never quits.”  The final verse says:

This morning as my heart overflows with thanks and gratefulness for who God is and all His Blessings I want to paraphrase the middle 16 verses with the things we should praise Him for ending each with “His Love Never Quits”.

Father, in the mighty name of Jesus, I come to you.  I am so amazed that your Love Never Quits. Your Mercy Endures forever.  I sit in your presence and bask in your Love and thank you that you know me best and love me most.  There is no pretense in our relationship. I receive all the good and all the Love you have for me.  I am the apple of your eye and you sing over me with unequaled Love and Care.  My Father, creator of the universe, my deep desire is for all who read this to have an amazing wonderful relationship with you.  I desire each person realize that in spite of what the enemy has done to try to destroy their lives, joy, and peace, you are there…..your Love endures…..you Love us in spite of us.  You created us and your eyes are always on us and when we allow it you are in control of our lives.  Amen

We have a Mother and Grandmother in our church whose Father passed away this past Sunday Morning.  Even though he had been very ill that does not ease the grieving of losing a loved one.

This morning as I was praying for God’s strength on this precious family my thoughts went to my own dad who has been gone now for 49 years this month.

My dad was an amazing man of God who loved his family and his congregation.  He had a great sense of humor and would laugh heartily at himself.

One of my memories is when, as a little girl, if I stumbled and fell or tripped and fell my dad would say: “come here and I will pick you up”. Of course I would laugh and the world would be right.

This morning I want to apply that to our spiritual life.  When we stumble; falter; make wrong choices; the creator of the universe, our Heavenly Father says: “Come to me and I will pick you up”.  Or, “come to me and I will lift your burden”. Or “come into the shadow of the most high”.

¹ He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
² I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

But just as my dad would do, if we are unable to take a step toward God, if we are so hurt, or confused, or injured that we cannot run to Him, all we have to do is call His name.  He will come to us.

When we run to Him in our wounded spirit and just call on His name, He is there.

There are some lyrics from a secular song that says what God says to us:

I’ll be there with a love so strong,
I’ll be your strength,
You know I’ll keep holdin’ on.

I’ll reach out my hand to you
I’ll have faith in all you do.
Just call my name and I’ll be there.

The world and no one in it can make that promise. We do not know what today or tomorrow holds.  But the Lord God Almighty can say with pure Love and Truth:

“I will be there, just call on me, I will be there”.

Do you need the Lord God Almighty to take away the hurt so deep you cannot even express it?  Do you need the Lord God Almighty to calm the fears and anxieties? Do you need someone to understand and give you Peace and Calmness?

Just call on the Lord God Almighty and He will be there!

ARE YOU SEEING THE POSSIBLE OR THE IMPOSSIBLE?

³⁶ As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.

¹⁴ Is anything too hard for the LORD?

Back in the day we would sing a song that went like this:

“GOT ANY RIVERS, YOU THINK ARE UNCROSSABLE?

GOT ANY MOUNTAINS, YOU CAN’T TUNNEL THROUGH?

GOD SPECIALIZES IN THINGS THOUGHT IMPOSSIBLE!

HE’LL DO FOR YOU WHAT NO OTHER POWER CAN DO!”

I ask you to think about that for a moment.  We serve a God who can do anything. We serve a God that loves us and desires to Bless us.  We serve a God who sees us struggling in life and desires to do the impossible but there is a blockage.

It may be fear. It may be unforgiveness. It may be unbelief. It may be that we desire things that are to our destruction.

We need to know our God so well that we let go of fear, unforgivenss and unbelief and put our hand in His hand, knowing he knows best and nothing is impossible with Him.

How can we believe the impossible? By understanding the nature of the creator of the universe and by realizing the Love for each of us that sent Jesus to the Cross. By realizing that we are not bound to this worlds system but have the greater one in us.

I admonish each of us today, to release the struggle and snuggle up to the one who really cares and can help.

Our minds get so bound up in the practical and the natural that we cannot let go and believe the impossible.

⁷ For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

This tells me fear, worry or stress is never of God but is the enemy’s way to stop the impossible.

So today I ask you: What do you need God to do that looks impossible?

I challenge you to speak out that impossible thing, thanking God for doing it. Continue to speak out that impossible thing until you really know deep inside you that it is happening. Praise Him for the impossible as you trust He is working all things for your good.

Father God, how majestic is your name in all the earth.  I release to you this morning my tendency to look at the circumstances.  I decree and declare that nothing is impossible.  You are a God of the incredible POSSIBLE! I trust in your nature and I trust in your hand. Thank you for doing exceeding, abundant, above all I can even imagine.  I decree and declare your Glory cover the earth.  I decree and declare this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen

¹⁴ And I got it, thank God! In the Messiah, in Christ, God leads us from place to place in one perpetual victory parade. Through us, he brings knowledge of Christ. Everywhere we go, people breathe in the exquisite fragrance.

In many parts of the world people are so hungry for God’s written word, the Bible that they risk death to obtain even a few pages.  Yet here in the United States of America the Bible, the bestselling book of all times, is also probably the top book that sits unread.

Why? I’m not sure. Maybe a lack of understanding its power or afraid we will not understand it, or even thinking it is not relevant to today’s world.  And yet within the pages are life given words, bondage breaking words and even miracle working words.

Even those who claim to be Christians and attend church, etc, etc, neglect the word of the living God.  Life is in the Word.  We must know the Bible and ask God for understanding of what we read.

What this tells me is that as a Christian, a child of the creator of the universe, “We are the only Bible some people read!”

Therefore as stated in the scripture at the beginning of this we are to be the expression of God’s Word in this world.  We are to be the Bible in Action.  We are to let people breathe in the knowledge of Christ as they encounter us.

Wow! What a responsibility. It may seem a daunting task, but it really is not.  All we need to do is know the word. Spend time in reading and fellowshipping with the author of the book and we will be so full of the Word that our lives just naturally portray the faithfulness and power of the Word…….the life giving Word.

According to today’s scripture people should know and understand God’s Love and care for them, just because we are around them.  We should be so full of the Love and Power of God that the atmosphere of a room or store or building changes just because we walk into it.

Pastor Rick tells us often that we are to be thermostats not thermometers.  A thermometer measures the temperature of a room but a thermostat sets the temperature.

We need to set the atmosphere around us. We need to portray so fully the Word of the Living God that people will want to know what we have, and they will find the giver of life:  Jesus the Christ…the Son of the Living God.

Is the Bible that powerful? Absolutely!!!

Just two verses: John 3:16 & 17 Is powerful enough to save the entire human race.

¹⁶ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
¹⁷ For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Maybe you are one of those who Love Jesus but just cannot seem to get into the Bible.  I suggest you start with the Gospel of John: the fourth book in the New Testament.  Then before beginning sincerely ask Father God, through the name of Jesus to open your understanding and let you read with your Spiritual eyes wide open. Don’t just do it one time: do it every day and you will see things begin to change.

²⁵ And I will restore or replace for you the years that the locust has eaten—the hopping locust, the stripping locust, and the crawling locust,.

Have you ever felt like you let your opportunities pass by? Have you ever felt like you missed it? Have you ever felt like you failed to grasp hold of the dream God placed within you? Have you ever felt like I should have??????

Has time passed and you feel like the years have been eaten by life itself?

Then this scripture in Joel 2 is for you. God will restore those years. In other words He will roll back time and allow you to fulfill your dream and the destiny He has for you.

I love the statement:

Destiny delayed is not destiny denied!

Whether circumstances beyond your control, your own choices, procrastination, fear or anything else has caused your dreams and desires to be delayed, is not a factor. What matters is that the destiny God has laid out for you is still there.  The dreams He placed within you are not out of your reach.

When you Love the Lord God with all that is within you and you lay your dreams at His feet, He will Bless them and return them and open incredible doors that no one can shut.

The problem is that we think we have to prove ourselves.  When a person wants to be on a team of academic or athletic competitors, they must try out to see how good they are.  But if you are the coach or the owners’ child, you make the team no matter what.

When it comes to our destiny, we do not have to prove ourselves or try out.  We are the Kings Kid.  We have the DNA of Jesus flowing through our veins.  We just receive the dreams God has Blessed and given back to us and go forward knowing it is in His name and through His power we can do it.

All the Father is looking for is for us to say YES!  Yes, I will dream the dreams you have placed deep within me! Yes, I will be consistent in praying and preparing! Yes, I will rest in the knowledge that you have the way and the route all laid out!

I think it is interesting that we get bogged down in time when in fact in Heaven there is no time.  When we think it is too late, God says:

²⁹ For God’s gifts and His call are irrevocable. [He never withdraws them when once they are given, and He does not change His mind about those to whom He gives His grace or to whom He sends His call.]

Ha, His call and His destiny for you have not changed and He can open all the right doors.  Be persistent and faithful as you walk steadily in the light of the revelation He is giving you.  Bloom where you are but keep walking toward the goal.

Remember Jesus prepared 30 years for the recorded three years of His life.

He will restore the years::::::::: let Him!!!!!!

Father, forgive us when we get so caught up in time that we think our opportunities have passed by.  Forgive us when we dwell in the land of if…if only I had, etc.  Father God, Lord God Almighty nothing is too hard for you. You can order circumstances and situations to fall in line with your will if we will just surrender and understand it is all about you and bringing souls into you kingdom and making disciples.  What a wonder you are.  What a plan you have. I declare dreams fulfilled in the name of Jesus Christ who fulfilled all the requirements. Amen

There is little magazine called Guideposts. It has short true stories and miracles of happenings that changed people’s lives and guide them to a better way.

Road signs are guideposts and buildings and landscape areas can be used as guideposts.

When someone is giving you directions sometimes they will give you landmarks to look for …….(past the wal-mart, etc). But have you ever listened to someone tell you how to get somewhere, thought you had it, and then found you forgot to really take note of the guideposts they mentioned.  Hmmm was it the blue or white house.  Did I turn right or left at the Country Store. 

You soon find yourself in the wrong place.

The word of God challenges us to not forget the guideposts that have been set before us in our walk with the Lord God Almighty.

28 Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set.

The Bible is full of rich wisdom and stories we can learn from.  The Lord God Almighty moved on men of old to record what we now use as our guidebook.  They recorded the good and the bad.  This was not just for interesting reading but to show us not only what to do but what not to do.

But we must listen and learn from it.  We must let the word get deep within us and guide us in the right path.

When we choose to not take note that the religious leaders of Jesus day missed the truth that the Messiah was in their mist:  When we ignore the fact that the Israelites wandered in the wilderness because they believed they could not take the land:  When we ignore the fact God Blessed Solomon with wisdom because he desired that above all else: When we do not remember that God sent His Son in a way that did not make sense, we are missing the landmarks set before us.

I am not talking about religious traditions or rules: they are what Jesus came to set us free from. But when we have a relationship with Jesus Christ of Nazareth we still have to walk in the everyday now and now with some wisdom and guidance.

Don’t ignore what our forefathers showed us. Not only the Bible but history and biographies give us much guidance. We can learn what does not work and what does.

We can learn from people even in our own family history.

A few weeks ago I talked about that great cloud of witnesses in Hebrews who are cheering us on.  Maybe we also have many witnesses that are saying “Follow Jesus, listen to that still small voice and do not close your eyes to truth as I did.”

Let us walk in the way Jesus walked and learn from those who have gone before us.

Father, in Jesus name I ask you to help me to never think I have a better way but to always follow the example of Jesus here on earth and the amazing Christians who have gone before us.  Let the truth that Love never fails and that we are ambassadors for you fill me up completely. Search my heart and purify my mind and motives.  Let me listen and learn and may I leave guideposts for those coming after me.  Amen

The other night I was reading a book and occasionally watching the TV program Ronald had on. He was watching a rerun of the old original Startrek series.  In this episode there was a creature who could take the form of anyone.  This creature had invaded the ship in the form of one of the crew and had then changed to other crew members, the Doctor and a lovely lady. The creature in any of these forms had a goal to kill and take life.

When the creature was discovered and shot with the weird weapons they use on Startrek, the truth emerged and the lovely lady turned into a hideous looking creature lying dead on the floor.  The interesting concept was that the creature needed to pull the life from the people it attacked so that it could live.

What a picture of the devil: the enemy of all that is good.  The one who hates you is set on killing and destroying you.

Satan comes as various people and temptations and tricks us into believing He is a helper. He is only as strong as we allow him to be. He only has power when we allow him access to us and our families.

¹⁰ The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

NEWS FLASH: Satan hates you and is set to destroy you and needs you to give him life, to believe his lies and to allow him into your daily decisions and actions.

¹⁴ And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

Satan is looking for your weak spot and is trying to find a way to get you to follow a destructive path. This may be in the form of a person, a job, selling out for success, or just deciding to eat, drink and be merry.

⁴ In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

The god (little g) of this world is Satan and will blind eyes to the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ.  He wants to blind your eyes to the truth so that he can lead you to destruction.

BUT WAIT:  WE HAVE THE WEAPONS WE NEED!

⁴ (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

Ephesians 6:16-18 (KJV)
¹⁶ Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
¹⁷ And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
¹⁸ Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit,

Give your heart to Jesus, walk in Faith and Prayer and use the Word of God…the written declarations to defeat the enemy and keep the blinders from your eyes.

Use the Word like a weapon, speak it out loud and it will send the enemy back to hell where he belongs.  Know that you have the victory and ask Father God, the Creator of the Universe to let your eyes be open to the deception of the enemy and you will be the winner every time.

The word is powerful.  Write a few scriptures that are promises to you on 3×5 cards and keep them with you. Speak them and the atmosphere around you will change.

By His stripes I am healed: My God will supply all of my needs: God will open doors no man can shut: I will be saved and all of my family:  The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses me from all unrighteousness: My help comes from the Lord above: I will sing a new song.

Those are just some starter scriptures that are death to the enemy of all humanity. We can bring down the enemy when we realize just how powerful we are when Jesus Christ is our Savior.

Use the weapons: see the real enemy!!

Father, I decree and declare today that every person who reads this will see with spiritual eyes. I decree and declare the blinders are coming down and we see the truth and the truth will set us free. I decree and declare the enemy is defeated in each of our lives and no weapon formed against us will prosper. Thank you that we are victorious…we win because you have already won.  I pray this in the mighty name of Jesus.  Amen

I have a Keurig coffee maker and that is usually my first stop when I get up in the mornings.

This morning as I opened the drawer that holds the little Keurig Pods, the front part of the drawer was almost empty. The back part had several other type choices but the first cup of coffee in the morning needs to be Folgers. OOPS!

However I walked across the kitchen opening a deeper drawer and there were several boxes of my favorite Folgers. So I opened a box and put them in the first drawer and immediately there was plenty of my favorite first cup of coffee pods.

Why am I sharing about coffee? Because sometimes it looks like we have reached the end of our strength, our provisions, and our wisdom.  But if we will just go to the Father God the Creator of the Universe He will supply not only just what we need but He has a store house of what we desire.

Now I could have used a hot tea or hot chocolate or even a French Vanilla pod, but that was not my desire.  Just like that, sometimes we settle for something less than the desires that Father God has placed deep within us because we do not remember that He has promised to meet every need and ever desire when we just Love Him with our whole heart.

¹⁹ But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Psalm 37:4 (KJV)
⁴ Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

Wait, let’s think about this. God will supply our needs and give us the desires of our heart as we delight in Him.

What are we delighting in?  Are we delighting in our achievements and successes or do we acknowledge that even our very breath comes from the Lord God Almighty?

But think again….not only will God supply our needs and give us the desires of our heart but He will do more than we can comprehend or imagine.

²⁰ Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

Wow, what a promise.  When you allow the power of God to work and dwell in you, the best and greatest you can think off will not begin to match the plan He has for you.

The riches of His great Love, Power and Blessings are ours but we refuse to go to the source and receive.  Just as I could have ignored the boxes of coffee in the second drawer, we can ignore God’s provision and Blessing.

Open your heart to receive. Put yourself in a position of receiving by Loving and Serving the Lord God Almighty.

When Jesus multiplied the Loaves and Fishes in the Bible, the people had to receive.  I wonder if there might have been those in the crowd who refused to take the food from the disciples because they did not feel worthy, or they had not worked or even asked for it.  If there were, they went away hungry.

How about you?  Are you a receiver or a doubter? Is your heart filled with God’s Love or with your own plans?  Go to the source. Open your heart and hands and position yourself for His mighty acts of Love.

Father, what an amazing thing to know that all we need, desire or even dream of is complete in you.  I decree and declare that you are removing every doubt and fear from our minds and our spirit.  You are God: nothing is too hard for you. We open our hands and receive your Blessings and we give you honor and praise. And it is all because of Jesus and we pray in that wonderful, powerful name. Amen

This past Saturday we had a cleaning day at our new church building that is almost completed.  As I arrived and noticed all the cars my heart was touched with God’s goodness.

There was a lot of work to be done.  Construction makes a mess.

As I entered the building there was much activity.  Many vacuum cleaners were going.  Windows were being scraped and cleaned. Bathrooms and kitchen were being made spotless and floors were being swept in preparation for additional work on Monday, and mops were being used.

Working together, each person doing something, before long it was all clean and in order.

The saying “Many hands make light work’, truly applied in this case.

As we look at our world, let’s compare it to the messy building that got cleaned on Saturday.  The world we live in is messy. We are living in a day of guns and protest and fear of terrorist.  But if you are a Christian then you know Jesus is the answer to all the mess going on around us.

Our Women’s Fearless Conference Motto this year was;

“Better Together”

⁹ For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.

Just as many hands cleaned our building, when many Christians begin to do the task at hand and use the abilities God has blessed them with; we will see our Nation begin to change.

²⁷ Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;

We need to be working together to make a difference in the world we live in.  As the scripture above says we must strive together for the faith of the gospel.

How do we change our world? We allow God to use us to change people. We clean up the area around us and we understand many hands make light work.

¹⁶ He keeps us in step with each other. His very breath and blood flow through us, nourishing us so that we will grow up healthy in God, robust in love.

I love Ephesians 4:16 in the Message Bible. We will grow healthy and robust in God’s Love when we do what we can.  When we smile or hug or speak or write.  When we teach our kids that Love is Greater than Hate!  When we demonstrate by our actions that we truly believe that Jesus is the answer. We cannot do everything and maybe we cannot do much, but we can do something.

Many Christians make the spreading of the Gospel much easier and effective.  What can you do today to affect the people around you? Who can you encourage? What can you change in your life so you make a difference?

In Love vs. Hate, Love always wins.

Spread some Love and the Gospel today!  We cannot do everything; but we can do something.

Be the hands, feet and mouth of Jesus today!

Father God, my Abba Father, my Daddy God, thank you for your Love. When the world all around us seems marred down with hate, distrust, and rejection of your Love, help each of us to realize that we can be light in darkness.  The problems seem overwhelming but may we remember that all of us together can make a difference. That we can see change when we all do what we can. Lead us this day to be like you and let Love overcome Hate. In Jesus Name I pray. Amen
