GLORY!!!

Me-Maw Thoughts

Psalm 72:19 (KJV)
And blessed be his glorious name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled with his glory; Amen, and Amen.

Glory:
a: praise, honor, or distinction extended by common consent: RENOWN
b: worshipful praise, honor, and thanksgiving
c: something that secures praise or renown
d: a distinguished quality or asset

What a different world we would be living in if the whole earth were filled with the Glory of the Lord God Almighty! Look at the definition above: there would be praise, and honor and worship and the quality of every one’s life would be like the Father intended it to be.

Do you ever pray: “THE WHOLE EARTH BE FILLED WITH YOUR GLORY, LORD GOD ALMIGHTY!”

We are to be filled with His Glory and pray the earth is filled with His Glory and we can see amazing changes all around us and to the far-reaching ends of the earth.

Psalm 19:1 (KJV)
The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.

Yes, the stars, moon, galaxies, display God’s Glory and yet we His people have allowed the darkness to push back His Glory. Jesus is the answer to the problems of the world, but He uses His people, filled with His Glory to bring His Kingdom to earth.

Isaiah 60:1 (KJV)
Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.

The orphans in Africa need His Glory: The deceived in Iraq need His Glory: The families in the slums of New York and Atlanta Ga. Need His Glory. Our inner cities and the North Koreans all need His Glory.

The lonely seniors need His Glory: The abandon and abused need His Glory: The single mom or dad need His Glory: The miserable rich in their palaces need His Glory: The hard-working family men and women need His Glory.

We, God’s redeemed, must understand it is through us that the Glory will cover the earth. We must allow His Glory to fill us to overflowing and then it will spill over to all who are around us.

2 Peter 3:18 (KJV)
But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

Then we must pray for all the nations and oceans and islands of the earth the God’s Glory would fill it. Our prayers are not bound by space: we can send the Glory of God to ever corner of the earth. It is His Glory that will bring change: fill needs and change leaders.

We are to give Him Glory, forever and ever!

Galatians 1:5 (KJV)
To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

I challenge you to pray every day and as many times a day as it crosses your mind that: “THE WHOLE EARTH IS FILLED WITH GOD’S GLORY!”

Father, In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, I come to you. I ask you to stir up within each person who reads this the desire to be filled with your Glory. May we understand that it is your will for us to be your representatives on this earth. Father, I decree and declare in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth the Your Glory is covering this earth. From ocean to ocean and nation to nation your Glory is there. May we be your lips and pray down your Glory! Amen

As Amy Carmichael said: “God Bless you and utterly satisfy your heart….with Himself!”

Let His Glory fill you!!

WHAT DO YOU HAVE?

Part of Luke 12:48 says:
For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required

In the message Bible part of Luke 12:48 (MSG) says:
Great gifts mean great responsibilities; greater gifts, greater responsibilities!

In Exodus, God told Moses:
Exodus 4:2 (KJV)
And the LORD said unto him, What is that in thine hand?

God has given each of us different abilities and blessings. However, if we do not use what He has given us how can He Bless it.

What has God given you that you can use to make this world a better place:
 If we have much Love we must give much Love.
 If we have much compassion, we must give much compassion.
 If we have much forgiveness, we must share much forgiveness.
 If we have much money we must give much money.
 If we have much Joy and Peace, we must give much Joy and Peace.

What do you have that you can give. Is it a smile, a word of encouragement or some of the things listed above? What do you think you have little of that in the hand of the Father God can multiply into much?

Because the other part of this is that no matter how little of anything you think you have, if you use it to help others it will multiply.

In Matthew 25 is the story about the distribution of talents to three individuals. When the master returned he found the one that only had one talent had done nothing with it. He took it and gave it to the one who had done the most with what he had.

 If you have a little Love, give it and it will grow.
 If you have a little compassion, give it and it will grow.
 If you have a little money, give it and it will grow.

My point being: use what you should bring the Love of Jesus to others.

No truer statement has ever been said than:
“PEOPLE WILL NOT CARE WHAT YOU SAY, UNTIL THEY SEE HOW MUCH YOU CARE!

There are so many ways to touch the lives around us every single day.

We should not think that it is the big revivals and the mega churches only that are making a difference. They are doing their part and we should plug into the life of a church and be planted there.

But…..

It is in the ordinary days and the normal course of life that we can touch the struggling, the hurting, the successful, the untouchable, the creations of the Lord God Almighty.

There is so much power in showing the Love of Jesus Christ to the world by our daily walk and example.

WHAT DO YOU HAVE?

The kingdom of God is within you. Share that kingdom, which is Joy, Love and Power in the Holy Spirit, with others.

When God asked Moses what he had in his hand the answer was a staff. God demonstrated His Power to Moses by turning the staff into a serpent and then back into a staff. This is the same staff that Moses stretched out over the Red Sea and it rolled back.

When we release our self and what is in our hand to the Lord God Almighty, that small thing can become the thing of miracles.

What God Touches changes everything.

______________________________________________________________

Father thank you that as we committee all that we are and all that we have into your Loving hands, you will show your Power. Use each of us in ways we cannot even imagine and direct each of our ordinary days to be extraordinary days. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

Have an Awesome week!

DARKNESS vs LIGHT!!!!!

Me-Maw Thoughts
Number 348
October 3, 2017//////

As most of you are, this morning I’m thinking about the people in Las Vegas Nevada.

The enormity of this massacre is more than most of our minds can comprehend.

However, for the Christian we know that as………..

Romans 5:20 (KJV) says in part:
But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:

Romans 5:20 (MSG) says in part:
But sin didn’t, and doesn’t, have a chance in competition with the aggressive forgiveness we call grace. When it’s sin versus grace, grace wins hands down.

In the aftermath of this tragedy, there is emerging stories of hero’s standing strong in the middle of the action. People covering others, Law enforcement running into the area as others were fleeing, people transporting hurting to hospitals in their personal vehicles. On and on the stories go.

Then as the dawn came ordinary citizens began to give blood and do what they can to help. Organization such as the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association began sending their “Rapid Response Team of Chaplains” into the area to help the local churches pray and minister to the hurt and hurting.

Even as we saw evil acted out in the worse way, we saw the love of God and humanity come forth in a mighty wave.

As we all ponder what was going through this man head that would do such a horrible act of violence, we all should also be asking ourselves what we can do!

As Christians we know we can and will pray for all of those involved and that is the major thing those of us that are not in the area can do.

But what about going forward, what actions can we take to spread love, not hate in a world filled with turmoil. I’m reminded of the scriptures that tell us what we are supposed to be in this world.

Matthew 5:14-16 (KJV)
14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Light dispels darkness. Even a small light dispels darkness but the brighter the light the more darkness is dispelled.

We as children of the Creator God should determine that we will allow the Love of God to fill us up so that our light shines so bright the darkness of evil becomes less and less.

We who know the truth cannot walk in fear but in the Power of Almighty God and our influence can stop evil.

1 Peter 2:9 (KJV)
9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

May I encourage you today to pray and even weep for the victims of this senseless tragedy but do not despair and do not lose hope.

We have the answer: Jesus Christ! He can bring Love from Hate, triumph from tragedy, and calmness from chaos. Let us as God’s children demonstrate His Love.

May we declare what the Apostle Paul declared in Acts 20:24 and be moved without fear to show more Love and the Light of Jesus to the World.

Acts 20:24 (KJV)
24 But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

I leave you with this blessing:

Philemon 1:3 (KJV)
3 Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
________________________________________________________________
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, I come to you with a heart full of gratefulness that in the midst of sorrow we can walk in peace. I lift up to you today all those involved in the Las Vegas shooting. Those hurt, the families of those killed and those who were in the middle of it all need your comfort and your strength. I decree and declare in the name of Jesus that you are sending angels to comfort and cause them to encounter those who can give the hope from your word. The enemy slings his evil around but we can dispel evil with your light. Give us opportunities to lift you up as the light of the world. Amen

Show Love, Shine your Light, Dispel evil.

FOUNDATIONS!!!

Me-Maw Thoughts
Number 347
September 26, 2017

My mind is on foundations today!  Webster gives the following definitions!!

FOUNDATION:
1)a basis upon which something stands or is supported
2)an underlying base or support; especially :the whole masonry substructure of a building
3)a body or ground upon which something is built up or overlaid

Our country is founded on the foundation of freedom, our Faith is founded on the Lord Jesus, and our buildings and structures are should be founded on solid connections to the ground.

A building can be an amazing structure with windows and beauty abounding, but if the foundation was not laid correctly it will sag and crumble with time or it will buckle under the storm.

It is not what you see that makes it strong.

The trees that bend and do not break in the storms and the wind are the ones whose roots go way down. I started to research the trees with the deepest roots and the information is unending. Suffice it to say trees with good roots stand the test of time.

The Word of God tells us that it is our Spiritual Foundation that makes us strong and able to stand the test of time. Our Spiritual Foundation allows us to go through the storms and still be standing at the end.

Luke 6:47-49 (KJV)
47 Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:
48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
49 But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.

When we hear with our ears about a Savior who died in our place, it sounds good and may give us a good feeling but until it gets deep down into our very Spirit it is only good sounding words.

We must receive and believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God and then we must study the instruction book (the Bible) and follow it for our foundation to be solid and able to weather the storm.

If we stop and believing and receiving and never grow in the knowledge of the instructions and promises of the Lord God Almighty we will not be strong when life throws us a curve and problems are pounding on every side. We will crumble because our life is built on shallow ground.

1 Corinthians 3:11 (KJV)
11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

2 Timothy 2:19 (KJV)
19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

I ask you today: what foundation is your life built on? The foundations of the world systems will crumble but the foundation of Jesus Christ is sure and will never fail.

If you have a security system in your house, it may fail, but the Foundation of the Lord Jesus Christ is the Security that will never fail.

I encourage you today, build your Life Foundation on that which is eternal.
___________________________________________
Father, my heart is so grateful that we can trust in you and your foundation will never fail. We are your workmanship and we are created to serve you and allow your love to flow through all that we do. Anoint each of us with the wisdom to build our lives on the true foundation. Let us walk with confidence and peace in this life filled with turmoil. I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen

Build your life on the sure foundation!

MAINTAIN!!!

Have you ever noticed the big beautiful houses and yards that you pass? As we were driving to a funeral this past Sunday, I began to notice some of the houses and landscapes we past.

There were amazing looking houses sitting back in manicured lawns. Some had fields of grass around and lots of acres. The houses that were most attractive were built with a balanced architecture.

As I was thinking about how beautiful they were I also began to think of how much work it would take to keep up a huge house and yard. As one passing by I saw how attractive it looked but it would take a lot of effort to keep it that way.

The more of the earths goods you have the more care they take either from yourself or hiring someone to do some of it.

It reminded me of part of a verse of scripture in Luke 12:48:
For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required:

So, let’s look at this in the Christian walk. Many of you have dreams and desires from the Lord God Almighty. When these dreams and desires begin to come into being we must understand that it will take the Word and the Power of the Holy Spirit to maintain the ministries and opportunities that come your way.

Before you encounter the opportunities that are coming your way, you must maintain your Spiritual walk and continue to grow and be the hands and feet of Jesus where you are. Live A balanced life that will attract others.

Then as opportunities open up you must understand that you need to devote even more time and effort to growing in the Spirit man and spending time in His presences and in His Word.

If the enemy of your soul cannot get you discouraged or to stop, he will get you so busy you find yourself going through each day and approaching each task in your own strength. You will find yourself putting off the time in the presences of the Lord God Almighty.

The enemy is probing for a place to cause you to stumble or fall and when we try to do life in our own power we give him openings to pierce our amour.

Now let’s look back at the houses I was referring to. We also passed some smaller houses that were attractive and the yards well maintained. I would venture to guess that if the owner of one of those were given a very large house and many acres the person would know how to take care of the gift.

You see our God is looking for people who are faithful where they are. People who will take care of their relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. And who understand that they must reach out to others no matter whether it is one person or a crowd.

In the analogy of the houses we also saw both large and small houses that were rundown and needed some serious attention. How did they get in such bad shape? The people responsible had been too busy to take care of them or did not care, or maybe they did not have the funds or health to do what needed to be done.

What does your Spiritual house look like? Are you spending the time with the Lord Jesus and time in His Word to be attractive to the world? You see in our Spiritual walk, when we come to Jesus there will always be enough of whatever you need to maintain your Spiritual house.

We are responsible to take care of our relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. When that relationship is maintained, we can represent Jesus the way we were created to.

One more analogy: Just as you may need to have help to maintain a house or property of any size, you need to have Godly people pour into your Spiritual house. Receive the ministries of others into you Spirit so that you can be built up and established more firmly in your calling.

Colossians 2:6-7 (KJV)
6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:
7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
__________________________________________________________________
Father, in Jesus name I come to you. I decree and declare that each person who reads this will be faithful to maintain their relationship with you. We are your people, a royal group of sons and daughters and we must understand that we are responsible to take care of our Spiritual House. Anoint each of us with wisdom, understanding, and the knowledge that you are a good, good, Father: and will be all we need as we come to you. Amen

Take care of your Spiritual House!!

POWER!!!!!

Me-Maw Thoughts
Number 345
September 12, 2017

Many of you reading this today have been effected by hurricane Irma. In our Metro Atlanta area, the storm was not as bad as further south in Georgia and in Florida but many people I know lost power.

As I was considering how blessed we were to keep our power through the rain and high winds I begin to think about all the things we cannot do without power.

If your water comes from a pump in a well no power means no water, which means no showers or baths or even flushing. If your water comes from a county or city then you are blessed to be able to have water but if your hot water heater is electric a shower would be cold.

The food in your refrigerator would spoil without power and there would be no coffee or cooking unless your stove is gas.

The lights would be dark and the plugins would be useless therefore all the battery stuff that has to be charged would eventually run down.

We are a society that has come a long way in convenience and communication but we are a society that is extremely dependent on electricity and technology.

I am sure those who are without power right now totally understand how much we depend on being able to make coffee and run our dishwasher, washer and dryer. I am sure that things look different in the dark than when we can shed light on them.

Why am I going down this road? Because more than we need the electricity of this world in our lives, we need the power that comes from a relationship with the Lord God Almighty.

We need the Power of the Spirit of the Living God leading us and showing us the way. We need to be guided by the sweet presence of Gods Spirit within us.

Acts 26:18 (KJV)
To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

What are the parallels?

Without His Power, we are in the dark and cannot see where we are going or what we should do. Just as we light a candle when the power is out, we maybe can get a little light but we cannot see all the junk in the corners or the things that trip us up.

Without His Power, we cannot be fed the truth of the word of God or wash off the dirt and grime picked up from just living in the world.

Without His Power, we cannot effectively live our life to influence the world for good and stamp out evil.

Romans 15:13 (KJV)
Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

2 Corinthians 4:7 (KJV)
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

We cannot be charged up or see the junk that needs to be picked up if we do not have the Light of the Spirit of the Living God guiding us.

Ephesians 3:20 (KJV)
Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

Just as we do not want to be without Electrical Power we should never want to be without the Spirit of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords guiding us through this journey called life.

I ask you this morning, who is guiding you? Is it chance or intelligence or other people’s opinion? Or is it the Creator of the Universe.

2 Peter 1:3 (KJV)
3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

In His presences darkness flees and evil has no power. In His presences and with His guidance we can make decisions that will affect all those around us and the world for good.

Are you walking in the fullness of His Power????

Father, thank you that we do not have to do life alone. Thank you that your Power and Wisdom is available and thank you that you are the creator and nothing is too hard for you as we yield our will to yours. Bless each one who reads this and increase their desire for and intimate walk with you. I ask it in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen

I desire God’s very best for each of you!

THINKING!!????

Me-Maw Thoughts
Number 344
September 5, 2017

I was thinking ……and thinking……and thinking……tomorrow I will have been on this earth for 73 years. As I look back I see the hand of the Lord God Almighty in every phase of my life.

I have seen situations that shook me to my very soul and I have walked through difficulties I hope none of you have to walk through, but I have seen God’s Love and His hand of Mercy in every moment of my life.

The Word of the living God tells us of His Faithfulness and it tells us in Psalm 30 verse five: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

No matter how dark the night is morning always comes. The sun may be hidden behind some clouds or a storm may still be making its way across our town, but morning always comes.

I could share incident after incident when the hand of God invaded a situation in my life and gave me Peace and direction.

Have all my choices been good and right? Absolutely not!! But the Father never took His eyes off of me. Have I handle every situation right? Absolutely not!

Have I always prayed for Gods will before making a life changing choice? I am sorry to say that I did not. But in all of these times My God was faithful even when I just did it my way.

I can declare to you without hesitation that:

Psalm 27:1 (KJV)
The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

I can declare to you that God has fulfilled the promise found in the scripture below:

Psalm 91:16 (KJV)
With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

Last May I had to go to the emergency room and found that my heart rate was 27 and that my status was critical. The electrical system of my heart had quit operating correctly. They put in a temporary pacemaker and followed a couple of days later with a permanent pacemaker. In the emergency room, the Doctor was using words like critical, paddles, ventilators.

You may not believe it but the truth is that the entire time: in the ER, through the insertion of both pacemakers and my time in the hospital and recovery at home, I have constantly been at Peace.

I thank God for the prayers of my friends and family that God heard and answered and I thank God for the brilliant Doctors who are using the minds God gave them to save lives.

And I thank God that He is not through with me in this world yet. I still have lives to influence and work to do.

But most of all I thank Him for the Peace that the world cannot give.

Acts 20:24 (KJV)
But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

Why am I going down memory lane today? Because I want to share the lessons I have learned through 73 years of this journey called life.

GOD NEVER FAILS. JESUS CHRIST IS THE ANSWER. CALL ON HIM AND HE WILL SHOW YOU HIS POWER. HE INVADES YOUR INNERMOST BEING WITH PEACE, JOY AND LOVE. THIS LIFE IS A VAPOR SO CONCENTRATE ON ETERNAL THINGS.

AND MOST IMPORTANT: LOVE GOD AND LOVE EACH OTHER!!

______________________________________

Father, your love is amazing, your grace is sufficient and your presences is real. I pray that each person reading this will realize that you love them more than they can understand and you just want to help them and fill the deepest desires of their heart. Father, we are a needy people and without you life is not the journey you intended. May the words of each of our mouths and the meditation of each of our hearts be acceptable in you sight. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen

I love all of you and pray you walk with Jesus!

PROBLEMS

Me-maw Thoughts
Number 343
August 29, 2017

Life is full of problems:
Ups and downs, victories and failures, valleys to go through and mountains to climb.

We face sickness, death of a friend or loved one, loss of direction and we may lose our smile for a while. But all of you have probably heard this saying: “Life goes on”.

I remember back many (oh, so many years ago) when we were coming from the cemetery after burying my mother (the sweetest lady on earth). I looked around from the car we were in and I don’t remember if it was me or one of my sisters who said; “Look at those people, they are just going about their business as if nothing has happened”.

Of course, it had not happened to them but to us our world had been rocked and we felt like the entire world should be taking notice.

As a mother of two small children I needed my Mother but “Life Goes On!”. I walked through those days because my Hope is in the Lord Jesus Christ. I had a center of Trust in Almighty God and knew His Word was Truth.

Hebrews 13:5 (KJV)
Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

John 16:33 (KJV)
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Jesus promised us we would never be alone and also that in the middle of our situations we can have peace and be of good cheer because He overcame the world.

1 John 4:4 (KJV)
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

We can face life with confidence because the greater one lives in us.

Psalm 119:114 (KJV)
Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word.

Jeremiah 17:7 (KJV)
Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.

I have been able to face each hardship and situation in my life because I know who I believe in. I know that this life is just a vapor and we need to do all the good we can while we are here, eternity is ahead.

In addition to that I know that I have a helper strong and sure who is with me always.

Romans 15:13 (KJV)
Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

So, I ask you this morning; Who do you turn to when you face life’s problems? I truly cannot imagine trying to navigate this life without the giver of life right with me. I do not understand how a person faces each day without the Love of the Creator God flowing through them.

1 Corinthians 15:19 (KJV)
If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.

Paul says without hope in Christ hereafter we are miserable. There is more than just this life. Are you walking in the victory of the Lord Jesus Christ or are you miserable? Are you filled with Peace in this midst of all the ugly in the world or are you in panic?

What a shame to miss all the help and strength God the Father provides. I cannot take one step without the Lord Jesus Christ. Does that make me weak? No that makes me strong because I recognize that Jesus overcame the world and the greater one lives in me.

Look at John 16:33 again:
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Hallelujah!!!!! The one who walks with me, my best friend Jesus, has it all under control.

Remember “Life goes on!”, but it is only through Jesus Christ we can truly live in victory.

May we face this day and all it brings, with the greater one…..
__________
Father God, creator of the universe, my Abba Father. I come to you with a grateful heart that I do not have to do life alone. I thank you that I do not have to navigate my day and my way without you. Thank you for God the Holy Spirit that lives in me and gives me all I need to face whatever a day may bring. I ask that you be real to all who read this and may they understand that you the greater one lives or desires to live in them. Glory and Honor to your name and thank you for the relationship Jesus paid for on the cross. Amen

Remember you are never alone!
Love, Me-Maw

THE ECLIPSE!!

Me-Maw Thoughts
Number 342
August 22, 2017

Did you look at the eclipse yesterday? Some of you did and some of you did not. The question following the first one is: Did you have the special glasses required to safely look directly at the eclipse?

I’m sure there are people all over the country who said “Oh, it will not hurt me” and looked up without proper protection. I read this morning that it would take 12 hours or so for the damage to show up. I wonder how many are realizing this more morning that they should have listened to all the warnings they have heard for weeks.

Then there are some who were sold the glasses that were counterfeit. These people thought they were buying the protection they needed but the glasses did not have the NASA seal on them. They also can be looking at damaged eyes.

May I tell you this morning that an event in the heavens much greater than the one yesterday is truly going to happen.

I am referring to the rapture or catching away of the born-again children of God: those who have accepted Jesus death on the cross, and resurrection from the dead, and have given Him control of their life.

According to God’s word those who have received salvation will be caught away before the world is in the midst of judgments.

But you must have the right glasses(salvation). Not disregarding the Bible that tells us:

John 3:15-17 (KJV)
15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
God provided a way for us to have life forever in His presence without all the junk the enemy of our soul throws into our lives here on earth.

1 Thessalonians 4:17 (KJV)
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

We must not believe the lies of the enemy that tells us that we do not need a Savior, or that we are ok because we are a good person.

Titus 3:5 (KJV)
5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

The Creator God made provision that through Jesus Christ we can be reconciled to Him and have a relationship with Him.

Not only does salvation provide us with participation in the rapture of true believers it also provides amazing benefits here on earth.

We have peace, joy, wisdom, direction, health and healing. We have the privilege of coming to the Father with all of our needs and hurts and desires and know that He is listening and understands and will work on our behalf.

John 14:27 (KJV)
27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Philippians 4:7 (KJV)
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Be sure you are truly in a relationship with Jesus Christ. There are many in our world who are declaring there are other ways to salvation. There were those people in the New Testament days. Paul wrote about it in Galatians.

Galatians 1:6-7 (KJV)
6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.

Remember there is only one way and that way is through Faith in Jesus Christ and acceptance of all He did for us.

John 14:6 (KJV)
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Make sure you have a genuine relationship with God the Father through Jesus Christ our Lord!!

Father, thank you that we can know we have the real path to you because when we believe and receive your Holy Spirit comes alive in us and we are changed from the inside out. I decree and declare this morning that no one who reads this will be left behind when Jesus comes for the true believers. Let our light shine to bring others to you. I ask in all in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen

I love you all dearly, Know the truth and it will set you free!

Psalm 1:1-3 (KJV)
1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

We are Blessed when our delight is in the law of the Lord; THE WORD OF GOD …. THE BIBLE. The Psalm above clearly shows us that when we delight and meditate on the Word, we become strong and fruitful.

I do not know much about football but I understand that the teams have playbooks. This outlines the way they play on the field. Sometimes the coach will call the plays and sometimes the quarterback but the players know what to do because they have studied the playbook.

If a player came on the field and had not studied the playbook when a name or number of a play was called they would be clueless and just have to pretend and would not play their position correctly.

I submit to you today if we are not familiar with the playbook of life which is the Bible, we are not prepared to face each day. We have no clue where the ball is going or what we are responsible for in the situation. We are just pretending to know what to do.

Oh, we may think we know what we need to do but for the most part we are just living each day with great pretense that we are wise. True wisdom and true living come from the giver of life. The creator God wrote the playbook and we need to follow it.

But in order to follow it and understand its directions we must spend time delighting and meditating on it.

A football team also has a uniform of protective gear that they put on. If one or two of them went on the field unprotected they would find themselves injured, bruised and in pain.

Ephesians 6:11 (KJV)
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Ephesians 6:14-17 (KJV)

14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

We must be dressed in the armour of God as we journey through this thing called life.

Because, you see, the enemy of all that is good, the devil, also has a playbook. His playbook is full of tricks and temptations to keep us from God’s best. Just as the opposing team in a football game tries to find the weak spot in the other team, the devil is always probing for a weak spot.

1 Peter 5:8 (KJV)
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Not knowing the playbook of the Bible can cause weakness in our defense against the enemy and he is diligently looking for those weaknesses.

You have probably all heard the statement that a group or team or movement is “Only as strong as its weakest link.” May I tell you that you are only as strong as the weakest part of God’s armour you put on. Let us know the Word, which is our sword against all the enemy brings.

We are victorious because Jesus is victorious but we must know the playbook!

Father God I come to you in the name of Jesus Christ. I thank you that you love us enough to give us the playbook of life. Forgive us when we do not delight and meditate in the words of life that you have placed in the Bible. Forgive us when we think we know the way or the play and we just blow it because we did not study the playbook. Touch each person who reads this with the desire to be ready for the game of life by knowing the playbook and putting on the armour. Amen

You are all winners when you walk with Jesus!
